chapter 20 Alec is an angel

They got to where the demons were and saw about 100. Magnus said, "My father is sending all these demons, so that I will go back to hell. He has to stop. This is annoying. Oh no! The demons are kidnapping children. There are some endarkened still alive. How the hell are they alive? We destroyed the infernal cup. Call in other vampires, werewolves, and shadowhunters now." They called everyone they know and everyone came running. Even some warlocks came. Magnus said, "Fight." They all fought the demons. They each killed a few, but there were so many left.

Alec went over to the children and protected them. Alec saw a demon and it ran over to him. It shapeshifted into Magnus. Alec paused for a moment and then the demon shapeshifted again, but into Asmodeus. Then Alec protected the children again and he heard a scream, but it wasn't anyone else's. It was his own. He screamed in pain because Asmodeus stabbed him in the chest and the back multiple times. Asmodeus said, "You will die and my son will come to my realm and beg me to take his life so that he can see you all the time." Then Alec used the last of his arrows and he threw it at Asmodeus. It hit him in the neck and he disappeared.

Magnus came running over to him and said, "No, no. You're dying. No one can save you now."

Alec said, "I love you." Then Alec started dying in Magnus' arms.

Magnus cried and screamed. Magnus said, "I love you and I'll miss you so much." Magnus closed Alec's eyes.

Alec woke up in a white room and he stood up. All he remembered was getting stabbed by Asmodeus. Alec yelled "Hello! Anyone there?"

Someone said, "Hello, Alexander!" He looked behind him and saw a man with long blonde hair with wings in his back. He was an angel.

Alec asked "Am I dead yet?"

The Angel shook his head and said, "Not yet Alexander."

"If I'm not dead, where am I?" Alec asked.

"You're stuck between Heaven and Earth," the Angel started. "But it's up to you where you want to go."

Alec asked "What?" The white disappeared and he was back in the warehouse. He and the Angel watched as Magnus and his friends worked on saving Alec.

Alec said, "I'm dying." Alec took in the scene.

The Angel said, "You are, but you don't have to." The angel stepped closer to Alec.

Alec asked "What?" He was confused about everything that was happening.

The angel asked "What do you know about The Guardian?"

Alec's face crinkled in confusion. Alec answered "Not much. Just mostly rumors."

The angel said, "What if I told you that you were destined to be it?"

Alec asked "What?" Alec felt like he was broken.

The Angel said , "Let me just lay it all out." With a wave of his hand, they were back in the white room. The angel said, "When you were born, you were always destined to be a protector, Alexander. A Guardian is a full-blooded angel that is willing to guard anyone who can't protect themselves. You'll make people see situations and keep the peace. You'll end wars. Are you still with me?" Alec just sat in silence, mouth opening and closing with all the information that was being told to him. Alec nodded. The angel said, "You're a leader. People will listen to you. You will be able to control your own destiny. No one will tell you other things. The future rests in your very hands. Understand?

Alec nodded and said, "I think so."

The Angel smiled. "Great," he said, then continued. "You'll have special abilities. You'll have magic for when you need help to fight or when you need to heal someone. You'll have wings. You'll be immortal. You'll have to watch the people you love die. Would you be able to do that? Watch them age and die?"
