I woke up the next morning wrapped in Tyler's arms with him still fast asleep. Gently moving his arms from around my waist I sat up quietly even though I knew he'd awaken when he felt his arm touching the bed instead of wrapped around me. I was trying to undo the binding cloth wrapped around me so that I could go shower when I heard Tyler sitting up in the bed.
"Are you sure it's safe for you to take those off yet, Star?" Tyler asked as he flopped back lazily on my bed.
"I had broken ribs not knife wounds, I'm a full blooded wolf, Tyler, and a White at that if we do get hurt we heal in a days time. Now could you prove that you love me and take the wrappings off for me or at least undo the pin so that I can, boo." I said as I gave up my struggle on trying to undo the pin.
"Um, are you sure you wouldn't want Jasmine or one of your brothers too....." He said as he sat up in the bed.
"Shy much, Tyler. I'm your mate remember, you're going to be seeing a lot more than my bare chest soon." I said with a laugh as I moved my hair away from my back.
I felt him moving to where he was on his knees behind me and him begin fumbling with the tiny pin that held the tightly wrapped cloth in place. Once he had the pin out he began to slowly unwrap the bandages and I sighed in relief as I felt the pressure on my chest continually lessening. I smiled when I saw Tyler's hands shaking each time his hand brushed against my breasts and his eyes trying very hard not to latch onto what was there in front of them.
When the bandages were off I pulled on a shirt and walked into the bathroom to take my shower. I was in the middle of washing my hair when I remembered that I would have to find three people to become apprentice Healers so that if I was to injured in a fight to treat the sick and wounded of the Pack I could at least depend on them to keep the Pack stable the couple days it would take my powers to heal me.
I was in the midst of getting dressed when my oldest brother Devan came running in saying that an old family friend of ours was in labor and they didn't think she'd make it if I didn't hurry. Now, my brothers have been known to exaggerate but still I hurriedly finished getting dressed then ran out of the house.
I phased and ran down the old worn path to the Trayn's house as fast as I could just before I got to the door I jumped in the air and phased back landing on the front step as Mr. Trayn opened up the door.
"Hello, Mr. Trayn." I said as I stepped inside into the spacious grand foyer, like most Shifters the Trayn's lived normally among society by using natural instinct to become very successful in life.
"Star, thank God, I have never been happier to see you in my life!" Mr. Trayn said as he led me quickly up the stairs after I had taken my bag out of the backpack I had run out of the house with.
He opened the door to a room and I stepped inside and shut the door before he could follow me in. God, it'd be so much safer to be doing this in the medical room at the house where I had delivered Mrs. Trayn's triplets just a year and a half before. I looked over at Mrs. Trayn where she lay nearly unconscious from the pain. Is it really so hard to call for the Healer before things get this bad! I quickly ran over to the bed and I knew that as much as Mrs. Trayn would hate that she couldn't have this kid naturally she'd have to be cut for it.
It was only a couple hours later that the crying of two beautiful twins filled the room and Mr. Trayn came running in the second they came. Once I had them both clean and wrapped up in a blanket I handed them to Mr. and Mrs. Trayn so that they could see their beautiful, newborn sons. While I busied myself cleaning up what I could while Mrs. Trayn's oldest sons moved her into the master bedroom next door and then I set to work helping Mr. Trayn and his oldest daughter in cleaning the rest of the room.
"Thank you so much, Star." Mr. Trayn said as I was cleaning and putting all of my supplies back in my bag.
"No problem at all, Mr. Trayn, I'll be back at the end of the week to give them their shot's and make sure there aren't any problems with Mrs. Trayn." I said as I closed up my bag.
I walked outside and headed up the path to the main square to get the Drake twins. The Drake's had always been interested in being Healers and even though they didn't have the powers that I did they could learn to make the medicines that had the same effects of me healing them. I knocked on the door of the small, cozy home that housed the Drake's family of five.
I stepped inside when seven year old Lily Mae answered the door and greeted me by simply saying 'Alpha' loudly enough that the twins and Mr. and Mrs. Drake all heard and came quickly into the living room where I had gone in. Once all of them had greeted me with the Pack's usual greeting to me since the face off between my brother when I was intending to punish my father's oldest brother with death when he had set a throng of rogues upon me and my team.
"Is it time, Alpha, are we old enough now?" Rayn and Wade asked as I stood in front of them.
I looked at the young twins in front of me and sighed knowing that once they became my apprentices they wouldn't have time for much else. They were only fourteen and because of my uncle's lust for power I'd have to take away one of the best parts of their young lives. The only consolation I had was that at least they had been begging to be my apprentices since they were ten years old.
"It's up to your parents; I won't just have you work for me without their permissions." I said as the young pair turned to look at their parents with pleading eyes.
"Anything you need them for, Alpha, we're all right with it." Mr. Drake said as he put one of his hand's on his son's shoulder and the other upon his daughter's.
"Mrs. Drake, this is your decision too, I won't take them in as apprentice Healers unless the both of you are alright with it." I said as I looked to Mrs. Drake for her say in the conversation.
"Please, Mom, we've dreamed of this forever!" The twins said turning to their mother.
"The choice is your's, Mrs. Drake." I said quickly silencing the twins.
"Star, I've watched you grow into a strong leader and beautiful young woman through the years and if you promise me that my children will never be on the battlefield when the fight is taking place you can take Rayn and Wade under your protection and train them to be Healers like yourself." Mrs. Drake said as her voice broke slightly and tears filled her eyes.
The Drake's knew what they were agreeing to when they said Rayn and Wade as apprentices and they knew that even if they weren't on the battlefield like I would be that their lives would still be in danger. Even though they would never fight a battle they would always be in danger of being taken out to try and weaken the Pack.
"Be at my house in an hour. You're training will begin the moment you come to my door." I said as I left out of the house and went to search for my third Healer apprentice, Jasmine.
