The fire of the man was so bright, but I couldn't look away, shocked with what had just happened. More tears appeared on my already wet face. Why? Was all I thought. Why? Why? Why? I just wanted to be with my parents, in a fixed home, with my little sister still asleep in her tiny bed. I didn't want to be outside here with these strangers!

My eyes hurted a lot, so I put my hand over it to try to calm it down, but it didn't work. Rather, the pain only got worse, just like the bright light. My hand was on fire! I screamed and in fear I pulled my hand off my arm. Blood flowed away, and I couldn't do anything else but screaming, while my surroundings kept catching on more and more fire. The people had disappeared in de fire as well, just like everything else. No more cars, no more houses, no more streetlights, just me, in a circle of fire and behind that nothing but darkness. Slowly my legs started to melt from the heat. I screamed and screamed, but it didn't help me in any way. This was the end. With my legs already formed into a pool of goo my upper body too started to melt away, until only my head was left.

I opened my eyes. There was only darkness to be seen. Then suddenly there was a light, which showed my I was in my room. I looked towards the door, where my sister and adoptive parents stood. It wasn't until they came running towards my that I noticed I was screaming. I quickly stopped with that. Good, it had been just an nightmare.

My parent had gotten home just before dinner, and my sister during dinner. After that I had been watching some series and gone to bed.

"Is everything alright?" Anna asked me. I nodded as answer.

"It was just another nightmare.." I said.

"The same as every time?" Eric asked me, my adoptive father. I remained silent. By now they knew I had this nightmare more often, but even so they still came every time to calm me down. "Maybe you should go let someone have a look at it, see if you can do something about it.."

"It's just a memory, nothing bad.." I said in an attempt to assure him, just like I always do when he proposes that. It had become a habit by now, this conversation. "I'm sorry for waking you guys up.

"It's alright, just make sure you catch enough sleep now to survive tomorrow on school, deal?" said Eveline, my adoptive mother.

I smiled and nodded in response. "Deal." After Eveline gave me a goodnight kiss on my forehead, the three of them left my room, after which I layed down again and closed my eyes.

The next day my alarm went off early. Tired I turned off my alarm and got out of bed. I dressed myself as slowly as possible, then shambled down the stares towards the kitchen to make breakfast and lunch for school.

"Goodmorning" Eric said, who too was up early.

"'Moring" I answered in my morning voice.

"Ready for school?"

"Meh.. But I gotta, eh.." I smiled short after which I grabbed some bread and put some peanutbutter on it. Yummy, peanutbutter. Then I made some breakfast by putting some cereals in a bowl. With the food I walked back to the couch, while I dumped my lunch in my schoolbag which I had prepared the evening before for today. I dumped myself on the couch, turned on the television, and ate my breakfast.

A while later I went to school. I had grabbed the bike of my sister, seen she barely used them now anyways. She had gotten her driving lisence and had bought a little car for the herself with which she now drives to her study. I was pretty nervous. Would they say anything about Quinten? Would they go ask me about it? My own bike had still been on that path, so I really hoped they wouldn't find out it was mine. The bike was pretty plain, so it shouldn't be that obvious that it's mine, so that shouldn't form a problem.

Once at school I put the bike in the bicycle storage and walked inside the building. While I walked towards the stairs I noticed that a few of the conversation were about the fire. Luckily I didn't hear the name Quinten anywhere. Meanwhile I looked around to see if I could find Trevor anywhere. He would form the biggest problem, because he was the one who last saw me with Quinten on the place of the fire. If anyone from the police or the teacher were to question us, I would really be screwed. Especially if he'd found out Quinten is dead, then he was sure to freak out and go tell it by himself.

I quickly found him with a group of boys. Dangit, couldn't he be standing somewhere alone? I settled myself down against a wall near the group, where I then waited for the bell to ring, keeping an eye on Trevor. The sound from all the students together in the hallway was too loud to catch up everything the group was talking about, but so far their conversation didn't seem to be about the fire. Good..

After a short while the first bell rang. We had two bells: the first one told you that you were alowed to go to the lockers. These had been placed on the domains, instead of the hallways, what you usually see. That's why the school doesn't want anyone to immediatly go to their locker, because people often snack something before class and the domains could become pretty dirty then. The school here is quite fond of them being so clean. The second bell would tell us the classes started, so then we had to be in our classrooms. The time between the bells was about 10 minutes, so that was more than enough time to go to our locker.

Carefully I followed the group to their lockers, still keeping an eye on Trevor. I could be around him nearly the whole day, except for one class that was different. The fifth hour I had informatics while he had biology. I just had to hope that would go well. But that were worries for later. First I had to keep an eye on him the first our and at the same time survive it: chemistry.

Hello! First time I'm doing these types of updates again.. This part got uploaded quite some time earlier than planned. That is because this afternoon I'll have to record something. "What then?" Well, let me tell you that :D

*Clears throat* once upon a time there was a youtube channel called Chilling Tales For Dark Nights (check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/user/chillingtaleswi , it's awesome) and a certain girl named Mandy (that's me :D) has been accepted to the first round, together with 99 other candidates. This girl had to send in 10 stories, out of which the organisator of the competition would decide which story you would have to tell.

So, long story short: I'm participating in the #EvilIdol voice acting competition! Yay! This morning I received which story I had to tell, which will be online on Friday, June 24. This takes a short while, but they want to have it good on time because reasons.

Now I have a short question to you guys: as soon as the story is online on their channel, I will give you guys the link to it. Would you please help me by voting for it so I can go to the next rounds? :D Thanks a lot in advance, monday the new part around 1:00 pm!
