Anna kept screaming for a short while, after which she stopped and started to cry. I was furious. How could they have done this! I looked from Eric to the guy who was just standing there, still holding his knife in his hands.

"You.. you f*cking.." I said angry, after which I started to run towars him, but Anna stopped me before I could make much progress.

"No.. Don't do that.. Be careful.. Please.." she said to me. But I wanted to do it. I wanted to pull his head off just like he had done to Eric. He had been so kind, so friendly and helping, so fantastic how he acted like a real dad! I still remember so well how I had avoided eye contact with him when we first met, yet how he kept smiling. How he had carried me around on his shoulders in the zoo and themeparks wheneven I was too tired to walk on my own. How he wished me good luck every day just before I went to school. And now Eric, no, my dad, had died.

Never before I had felt such anger. It was worse than when I lost my family. I couldn't lose this family too! I can't let this group do anything with Anna or Eveline! But they were so much older and stronger than me, what could I even do?

The group just stood there talking. They didn't seem all too satisfied with what they had just done, they seemed even a bit angry. But I didn't care. I wanted to take revenge for what they did. Who did they think they were, just breaking into our home and murder my dad?! I didn't think anymore about what I could do, I just knew what I had to do! Attack!

My eye started to hurt quite a lot again, more than usual. I freed myself from Anna's grip and ran towards the group after which I tried to punch the guy who had killed my dad in his face. The man however had seen me and quickly swung his knife at my now stretched arm. But instead of it cutting right through it, the knife broke on my arm.

Anna screamed behind me, begging me to get back to her, but I didn't want to listen. I didn't want to go back there. I was shocked to see the knife didn't cut through my arm, and then a feeling of happiness filled me. Whatever caused this, this was my chance! I couldn't get hurt! I kicked out at the guy and hit him pretty hard in his stomach. But this didn't seem to have much effect. He flinched a bit, but then quickly got up. He grabbed the leg with which I had kicked him and swung it upwards, causing me to fall onto the ground.

A second man then too came into action. He walked towards me to grab my arms, but I was a bit faster and quickly punched him in his throat. He jumped backwards, gasping for air. I tried to get up again, but the first man still had my legs tight in a lock.

"Let go of me!" I screamed at him.

"No, come with us, trust me, it's for your own good!" the man responded. I didn't get it. He didn't really sound like they had any evil in mind. But what did they want from me then? Did they have an explanation for the scales? Did they then maybe really want to help me? No, ofcourse not! I said to myself after taking a quick look at the head of Eric, which still was just laying around there on the ground, his eyes still scared from the last thing he experienced. The group was evil. They could all burn to death!

"Damnit, she's doing it again!" the man said, while he quickly dove away, as if dodging something. Suddenly the ceiling above us started to burn.

"Keep her in control! It's your own fault, why did you then have to take those knifes with you?!" said the other man. He still softle held his throat from the punch I gave him there.

vaguely I heard them continue their talking. My mind was too busy with the fire. Had I really just done that? The fire slowly started to spread while I kept looking at it. Soon enough the attic would burn away, and then the rest of the house. Had I then really put Quinten on fire as well? No, that really must have been his own fault. And at the time I was 4 years old? That too must have been some kind of fault in the electricity, and then some piece of burning material. Right?

I really started to doubt what I believed so far. Then I heard Anna's scream again.

"Listen, or you just come along now, or she'll die too." said the fourth guy from the group. I looked at Anna. She was held in a hold by the man who had spoken, who now too was holding a knife and pressed it against the throat of Anna.

"Anna!" I screamed out, while I again tried to free myself from the grip the man had on my legs. But I shouldn't have looked away from him, because as soon as I was done saying her name I felt a hard hit against my head, and then everything went black.
