For ThydaSarn. Enjoy! I know the title sucks, but it's all I could think of. :/

Tears fell from your eyes as you pulled your knees to your chin, covering your face with your arms.

"MOVE IT MAGGOT!"

You shook as you recalled his voice. Loud and angry, it terrified you.

"I said... MOVE IT!"

You don't know why it scared you, but it did. It made your feel weak, like everything that went wrong was somehow your fault.

It reminded you of thunderstorms, loud clips in the dark following bright, blinding flashes. Harsh sounds where the closer the noise is in time to the flash, the closer it is to you.

A loud knock on your door set you off. You sobbed, so loudly that you didn't hear Sniper call to you. Didn't hear him barge in. Didn't hear the majority of the team rush in to see if you were okay.

Sniper tried to calm you, ask you what was wrong, but so was the rest of the team. He knew the noise wasn't helping, so he covered your ears before semi-yelling at the team.

"Everybody shut up!  Yer not helpin!"

The room quieted, and Sniper uncovered your ears. He rocked you gently, holding you close to his chest.  After you calmed a bit, he asked you.

"What's wrong Sheila?"

You choked out a sob.

"S-s-sold-"
"WHAT IN SAM'S NAME IS GOING ON HERE?!"

At his voice, you lost it again, sobbing into Sniper's chest.

"Why are you crying maggot?"
"Soldier-" warned Sniper.
"What's the matter? Finally realize you're to safety for the war?"
"Sol-"
"Answer me maggot!"
"Soldier, for fucks sake, stand down!"

At Sniper's command, you cried more, and Soldier stopped. You shook as Sniper talked you down once more.

Soldier stood there, shocked. Watching you cry, break down at the sound of his voice, broke his heart. He knew it was his fault.

He's tried to step forward, to comfort you, but Sniper growled.

"I think it's best if you just leave."
"But-"
"Soldier," said Spy. "Leave. Now"
The whole team stood protectively, staring at Soldier.

He turned to walk away, but stole one last glance at you, shaking and scared.

Because of him.

~~~
A few days passed, and you had calmed down a bit. But you were still shaken around him. Due to this, the team kept him well away from you, going so far as to make sure you were never in the same room.
And it was killing him.
Your crying face haunted his dreams. He never meant to scare you, and he felt so guilty. So he waited for the chance to talk to you.
It was 10pm. Many mercenaries had retired to bed, but a few remained up in the rec room. Sniper and Spy sat playing poker, while you watched TV.
Spy laid down his hand a smirked.
"Bloody hell, again?"
Sniper sighed and pulled out (Whatever currency you use + amount)
"Merci."
"Yeah yeah."
Spy looked at his watch and stood up, brushing off his suit.
"I'm off to bed."
"Yeah, I'd better be off too. Oy, (y/n)? You gonna be alright?"
You look at him from over the back of the couch. "I'll be fine. Night guys."
They bid you goodnight, and you went back to watching T.V.
After about twenty minutes, you were dozing off. Your eyelids were heavy, and you closed them, almost drifting off to sleep.
"(Y/n)?"
You jerked awake at the sound of his voice. You shakily turned around to look at him. He wore a pair of grey sweatpants with a white wife-beater. He was helmet less as well.  His short, military-cut, blond hair went well with his grey eyes, which were filled with sadness.
"H-hi..." You said nervously.
"Hello. Um.  May I speak with you for a moment?"
"S-s-sure..." You said, against your instincts, telling you to cry for help. You couldn't help it: he scared you.
He walked forward a bit and looked down at his feet.
"I wanted to apologize. I know I'm the reason for your nervousness, and I want you to know it was never my intent to frighten you."
You were shocked at his words. You've never seen this side of him: apologetic and almost... sweet. Seeing him like this, you suddenly weren't afraid of him anymore.
"It-it's okay. You didn't m-mean to."
"I really didn't.  The last thing I want to do is scare you off."
"It's honestly n-not your fault. I just, I frighten easily."
"So... I'm forgiven?"
You smiled kindly. "Of course. Um... Wanna watch some TV with me?"
He smiled shyly and nodded, taking a seat next to you.
