Chapter 16: Just What I Needed

Demi's P.O.V

After Sophie's funeral my mum came out with a load of lies to the press about Mackenzie and Aimee. It was kind of annoying that she couldn't just leave me alone and get on with her own life. Mackenzie and Aimee came downstairs a minute later with Elizabeth trailing behind them. The girls were ready to go out shopping with me for our holiday that was coming up.

"Mum I don't want to go!" Elizabeth whined as she picked her shoes up

"Well there's no one here to look after you so you have to." I said to her

She pouted and stomped her feet towards the stairs before she sat down to put her shoes on. Aimee was sat in the corner trying to do her shoe laces up. She frowned every time she failed until Mackenzie went over to help her. "Come here Aimee." She chuckled as she knelt down and tied Aimee's laces for her. Aimee stood up as soon as Mackenzie finished

"Come on then kids. Let's go." I told them as I grabbed my keys from the side. Mackenzie held onto Aimee's hand while Elizabeth held onto mine. Elizabeth was still sulking that she had to come shopping with me

As soon as we reached the car Mackenzie and I helped the girls into their car seats and strapped them in before we closed the doors. Elizabeth started whining again as Mackenzie climbed into the front seat next to me.

"Mummy why does Mackenzie always get to sit in the front? Why can't I sit in the front with you?" She asked me. I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Elizabeth was really starting to do my head in with the constant whining and complaining all the time. She crossed her arms as I responded to her.

"Because Mackenzie is the oldest so she gets to sit in the front. Now quit with the constant winging Elizabeth." I told her firmly before I started the car and pulled out of the drive way a couple of minutes later and that's when the fighting started.

"Ouch Aimee that hurt." Elizabeth whined.

"I didn't do anything! You were the one who hurt me." Aimee replied as Elizabeth hit Aimee.

"Elizabeth no hitting." I told her sternly as I tried to concentrate on the road.

"She started it." Elizabeth said a minute later.

"No I didn't!" Aimee cried out in response.

"Just be quiet guys." Mackenzie told them a minute later.

"Oh! Mum! Aimee kicked me again." Elizabeth called out.

"No I didn't."

"Yes you did. You liar."

"No I'm not! I'm not lying Elizabeth."

"ELIZABETH SHUT UP!" I yelled at her as I turned around for a second.

"But she started it."

"I DON'T CARE WHO STARTED IT, I'M FINISHING IT!"  I screamed at them.

Everyone shut up as soon as I shouted. I turned my attention back to the road as I sighed in relief. "Well done Aimee." Elizabeth mumbled a second later.

"I didn't do anything!" Aimee said as tears fell down her face.

"You were the one who hurt me." Elizabeth responded.

"No I didn't!"

"Yes you did. Stop lying!"

I looked in the rear-view mirror as Elizabeth sneakily kicked her sister.

"Ow Aimee." Elizabeth said a second later.

"Elizabeth Dianna I saw that!" I told her as I pulled into the mall car park.

"Saw what?" Elizabeth asked me innocently.

"You kicking your sister." I replied to her.

"I didn't..." She trailed off as I found a car parking space and parked the car. I sighed in relief. How I managed to drive through that without having a car crash I don't know.

"Don't lie Elizabeth." I said to her as I got out of the car and swore under my breath as paparazzi came running towards me. I got Elizabeth out of the car while Mackenzie got Aimee.

Demi is it true that Aimee is an attention seeking brat like your mother says she is?

Demi what's going on between you and your mother? Why are you fighting?

I gritted my teeth and carried on walking as they started to make accusations of why I wasn't talking to them. That was until one comment caught my attention.

Why does Aimee have a chew in her mouth like some kind of dog? Is she that messed up she doesn't-." The guy never got to finish his sentence because I'd punched him in the face. Of all the things that could have happened today this wasn't what I needed.

"Next time you call my daughter a freak it will be worse. Now just leave me alone so I can take my kids shopping without you guys interfering because you don't have a life." I snapped at them before I walked away with my kids.

Stupid paparazzi I thought to myself.

"Ow Aimee." Elizabeth whined a second later.

"Will you stop fighting with each other for once in your life?" I asked them a minute later.
