I took the only empty seat available, which so happened to be in front of the dark-haired human next to his Alpha werewolf friend.
There was another werewolf in front of me, plus to my right. I was practically surrounded, and it was bringing back memories of getting attacked by Zane's pack.
My heart was racing, my nerves were skyrocketing. I felt like I couldn't breathe. Was this what it felt like to have a panic attack? No. No.
I wasn't having a panic attack. I was the Alpha. I had to keep my shit together.
I swallowed a lump in my throat and tried to take deep breaths. It wasn't working as the werewolves around me seemed to take notice.
Not all werewolves are evil. Just give them a chance, right?
How long have they been werewolves? To receive so much power at a young age...I've seen it turn people. Change them into monsters.
Not all monsters do monstrous things.
I gripped the desk, remembering Zane.
That's what I said when I defended Zane. When we were dating, and I was naive enough to think that he was one of the good guys. Only, he wasn't. He used his power for evil. He used his power over me, and I was too scared to fight back.
You're still too scared to fight back.

"Something's wrong." I heard the Alpha say to his human friend.

"What do you smell?" He asked. So he did know about him?

And he wasn't scared?

I thought about all the times a human had found out about me. I remembered the time my own sister and mother found out.

It never ended well.

"Fear." I heard the Alpha say. But he spoke in a concerned tone. Like he was worried.

And not threatened.

I tried to calm down.

Relax, Ava. They aren't going to fight you in the middle of Economic's class.

Oh. Right.

Right.

I took a few deep breaths, feeling the anxiety roll off me.

"She's...OK now. I think" I heard the Alpha say. The human shifted uncomfortably. What was his name again? Oh right, Stiles.

The teacher began to hand out a worksheet, mumbling under his breath to people he didn't like. He stopped at me.

"You're new."

"Not really, been living for eighteen years." I said, suddenly gaining my confidence back. Yup, a one-time panic attack was definitely not going to bring me down in the dumps. No, panic is not a synonym to Ava Montgomery - well, Ava Bellemoore now.

The teacher rolled his eyes and handed me my worksheet, "great, another Billinski."

Stiles chuckled behind me. I turned around to face him, ignoring the intense stares from the Alpha.

"Billinski?"

"Stillinski."

"What?"

He chuckled again, "My last name is Stillinski. He just calls me Billinski. It's just 'cause I'm... Sarcastic."

I smirked. I think I liked this guy.

"Stiles Stillinski? It actually has a nice ring to it." I said, turning back around. I could practically hear the excitement in his voice, "r-really?"

I just smiled and shook my head, looking down at the worksheet. I remember all of this material already and began to fill it out without even needing the book.

Once I was done, I practically slammed the book closed, flinching at the sound.

I forgot I had sensitive hearing too.
