:::Stiles Stillinski:::

The minute I parked my jeep and got out, Scott found me.
And sniffed me.
"I told you, man. That's weird."
He just looked at me with a serious face, "why do you smell like Ava?"
Seriously? I took a shower.
"Uh...funny story."
He looked at me as if he was going to eat me. I gulped.
"What did you do?" Was the first thing he said.
"What? Why do you always-"
"Because, Stiles. You always do something."
I put my hands up in defense.
"In my defense, she came to me. I just...agreed." I bit my lip. His eyes widened.
"Did you two-?"
"What? No! No we didn't-" I face-palmed myself, "oh my gosh We didn't do anything like that."
"Then why do you smell like her?" He questioned accusingly. I started walking towards the school with him in tow. I didn't want to have this conversation in the middle of the parking lot where people were starting to look at us weird.
"Ok, so here's what happened..."

:::Ava Bellemoore:::

I had caught up with Kit and Alice before they headed out the door.
"Wait up!" I practically yelled. They both turned around in unison. They shared matching expressions too: Anger, sadness, curiosity and...guilt? Why guilt?
I held up the two dog tag necklaces. I realized I forgot to give Stiles his, so I had his in my pocket and mine around my neck.
"I uh, got these done for you. You know, a kinda...goodbye? I guess. And for protection..." I trailed off.
They took it slowly, reading it. I could see Alice smile a little.
"Why?"
"Why what?" I questioned, shifting the backpack on my shoulder.
"I mean..." Alice trailed off and sighed heavily.
"They're enchanted?" Kit asked instead.
I swallowed. "Uhm, yeah. I just..." I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before opening them, "You guys were right. It's safer for you two to...leave and go follow your dreams. It's safer for your family." I gulped, "but I can't, because I don't want to put my family in danger. Besides...i think I like it here." I looked away.
It was silent at first. Kit put the necklace on, "thank you for understanding."
Alice put hers on. I could see a tear in her eyes. She always hated goodbyes but... This wasn't a goodbye. Not yet, anyway.
"Is... Are we going to ever talk again? Or is the pack really...done?" She swallowed.
I licked my lips. I could feel my eyes begin to sting.
"We'll still talk. Especially when this is all over. Maybe....maybe it was time for us to just go our separate ways anyway. Maybe even start our own packs, if we wanted. But in a way, we'll always be a pack. A family... Right?"
I looked at Kit. Her dark brown eyes full of tears as she stared down at the dog tag.
And then she hugged me, and all the tears I was holding started to flow out. Alice hugged me too, as the three stood there, crying. Thinking about our futures. Thinking about leaving. Thinking about how our pack...has grown so small so fast.
We pulled away. I wiped my tears. "Don't worry, today or tomorrow should be your last day."
Kit nodded, unable to speak.
"This isn't goodbye. At least, not yet." I said, looking at Alice.
She just nodded, looking away.
I swallowed a lump in my throat, "Guess we should get going now?"
They nodded as we awkwardly headed out the door.

:::Stiles Stillinski:::

Scott and I were by my locker after I finished telling everything that happened. I thought he would hate Ava for her ability to kill. He didn't say anything about it. Instead, he said "You think you two are going to be like...a thing now?"
I gulped, grabbing my books and shutting my locker. "I don't know, honestly."
"Do you want to?"
I smiled. "Of corse I do."
Scott just nodded, "We're still going to Deaton."
I nodded, "yeah. Of corse."
He just nodded, staying silent. I wondered what he was thinking.
"Stiles!" I heard a voice. Scott turned around to see Ava coming.
"I'm going to leave you two alone." He said, walking to class.
I gulped. Did he not like her?  He definitely didn't like her. Was he mad at me?
"Hey." I said to Ava, smiling and pushing those negative thoughts away.
She pulled out my dog tag necklace, "I forgot to give  this to you."
I took the necklace, "oh thanks!" I smiled, putting it around my neck. She smiled. "Ready for Eco?" she asked.
I frowned, "no, but lets go before Coach makes us run laps before the big game."
She laughed as we headed towards class.

Later...

We were at lunch, eating in awkward silence. But Ava obviously didn't do awkward, because she just huffed and said, "alright. What's up?"
"What?" Scott said.
She rolled her eyes, "Talk to me, Scott. I know we just met, but this tension? Let's just skip it."
He gulped, looking at her in both anger and confusion.
He huffed, "You put my best friend in danger."
"He's fine. Look at him, see? I would take a bullet for him. I'm not an asshole, Scott. I'm not going to intentionally put his life at risk. Which if you haven't noticed, is why I gave him this." She said, holding up her own necklace.
Scott looked like he was desperately trying to remain mad, but failing miserably.
Ava sighed heavily.
I bit my lip, "Scott, Give her a chance."
He just bit his lip and looked back at his untouched food. "Fine."
I leaned back and smiled. "see? Everything is fine."
Ava looked at me like I was stupid, "Scott, how do you want me to prove myself? Don't say it's fine, because I can see right through your lie."
He bit his lip and growled quietly. Everyone else at the table was tense.
"You said you could help us with the Theo issue, right?" Malia said. Scott looked at her.
"We aren't going to let Theo be killed." Scott growled.
"Who said kill?" Ava said with a grin, "I think we should just...teach him a lesson." She winked.
"I think I like you." Lydia said. Allison, Liam, and Malia nodded.
Scott and Isaac were the only ones unsure.
The bell rang and Scott stood up with a heavy sigh, "We'll deal with Theo later." He said then walked off.
Ava just looked at me and bit her lip. I shrugged.
