*Tays POV*

"Shit." I mumbled as I searched my pockets for the key to my new apartment. "First day around and I've already lost it! Great job Tay!" I spoke out loud to no one in particular. I had just purchased my first apartment in a small town numbering very few in population.

"Aha!" I exclaimed proudly finally digging the key out of my leather jacket. After locking the door I spun around on my heels and eagerly rushed to the stairs down the hall. Racing down two flights I burst through the front door in a hurry. My first day in this new small town was going to be great. Taking a simple walk would not have to be such a hassle. I can be free!

I sighed in content and looked down at my phone seeing my managers name pop up on my screen

"Tay I know u want to be independent but could u at least tell me where u r?"

"Nope!" I sent back and exclaimed aloud to myself, popping the p as I said it. I, Taylor Jardine was the lead singer of a massively popular band by the name of We Are The In Crowd. Our music had grown so much in such a short time that it had completely drained me out. I missed the freedom I had when our band was just staring up.

Currently I was situated in a small dingy town in Oregon by the name of Imnaha trying to escape the pressures of fame. So far no one has noticed me as out of the ordinary which was fantastic to see. I rushed along the side walk skipping about the cracks with weeds engrossed inside causing the trail to become uneven. With a smile I close my eyes and breathed the crisp air deeply into my lungs.

Perfect I thought and continued walking with my eyes shut. Things were getting along nicely, until I felt myself tumbling back and landing on my backside with an "Oof"

"Hey what the fuck was that?!" I huffed and looked up at the figure blocking the sunlight from my eyes.

"O dear I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention. Let me help you on up" the figure standing above me mumbled with a tinge of an accent and outstretched their hand to me. I took it with a grunt and stood to face the mystery person in front of me.

My eyes were greeted with bleached blonde locks framing a girls skinny face. She smiled at me and squinted her light hazel eyes in my direction.
"The names Jenna but you can call me Jen if you'd like." She piped happily.

"This ones already getting on my nerves with her goody good accent and enthusiasm..." I thought to myself annoyed. But thankfully it seemed as if she did not recognize me to be the Tay Jardine.

"Yeah cool." I shrugged and went to walk past the tall female. Resuming my blissful walk in peace until the sound of footsteps coming behind me graces my ears. I rolled my eyes as I heard the girl call out to me telling me to "wait up."

"I'm guessing you're new around here? I haven't seen anyone of the likes of you before." She said while walking right along side me. She was a bit taller so I had to look up a bit to see her face.

"Yea I am. Know a good place to get some beer?" I grunted with fake enthusiasm. I came to Oregon to be left alone! This Jenna was getting too persistent and it was starting to get boring. I looked back to her to see her eyebrows knotted in a face of slight confusion, maybe discomfort.
"Good" I thought and smirked a bit to myself.

"Well," the blonde started "how about some coffee instead!" She beamed once more

"Greaaat"

Jenna lead me down the street a bit until we hit a sign that brightly exfoliated rainbow letters spelling out Ashby's coffees.

"What can I get ya!" A bright faced red head exclaimed from behind the counter. His name tag bounced the name Alan into my sight and I smirked a bit resting my elbows on the counter.

"Well Alan my good friend, I was wondering if there were any way to dispose of infestations such as this one." I hooked my thumb into Jenna's direction and rolled my eyes. Alan smiled seeing who I pointed to and called out an enthusiastic "Hi Jenna!" To the lanky blonde a few paces behind me. She waved and smiled back as Alan looked to me again, completely ignoring my previous statement.

"So you've met Jenna already! That's great she's amazing at showing newcomers around." He grinned.

"Uh how did you know I was new to town?" I spoke a little taken aback.

"Well I've never seen you before duh!"

"I guess this town really is small..."

Groaning I took out my wallet and ordered a large coffee to go. Making my way to a table in the corner, I sighed in defeat seeing Jenna come bounding over to sit. I sat in silence tapping away at my phone until Jenna spoke up.

"Um I actually never caught your name back there." She leaned forward and looked into my eyes.

"Good." I responded and shrugged a little nervously. I didn't want this town to find out who I really was incase they know how famous I really am. I glanced down as my phone started to vibrate loudly and sighed seeing my managers name pop up on screen again. I answered the call and held the phone a bit away from my ear preparing for what he had to say.

"TAYLOR WHY HAVE YOU NOT BEEN ANSWERING YOUR PHONE!!!" The voice blared through my speakers.

"Kellin please I'm fine. You'll hear from me when I finally get some writing done." I whispered a bit so Jenna couldn't hear the last part. "Gotta go Kells! Catch ya later." I spoke quickly before Kellin's yelling could reach my ears again.

"So Taylor it is!" Jenna called from across the table.

"...."
