In a slight hurry I speed walked over to Alan's coffee shop. I was in a good mood today and ready to try and write some music for the first time during my stay at Oregon. Although I mainly left my fame just for a break I was also out in Oregon to try and find inspiration to write some songs and make a new album. Our band was due for a new one soon and we were given a deadline to get things done, but I could not take the pressure of having to write something that didn't mean anything to me. Oregon was my place for inspiration and my place to get things right, and because of this a good coffee was gonna help me get some writing down and out of the way. The sooner I found inspiration and got some songs done, the sooner Kellin could stop nagging me about it.

I opened the front doors to the coffee shop with the dinging of a bell overhead alerting Alan of my presence. At the sound his red head looked up to me with a smile as I made my way over to the front counter.

"What can I get ya today Taylor." Alan pipped at me as I sat down in front of him.

"Hmmm it seems I'm in the mood for... some coffee perhaps?" I smiled coyly at the smiling being in front of me. Alan was the closest thing I could consider a friend in this town and I was enjoying his company more and more in my almost frequent visits to the coffee shop.

"How funny are you miss Taylor. I'll get ya some of my best French Vanilla coffee, it'll definitely match your current mood!" He smiled as he moved around preparing my coffee. "What's got you so hyped up anyways?"

"I don't know Alan I'm just feeling good today I guess." I shrugged at him as I pulled my phone out opening some game to pass the time with. After Alan finished making my coffee I moved to a table facing the front door and looked outside the large windows taking up more space than the walls. Seeing the rolling hills in the distance I spaced out a bit taking my time to drink and think about something that I could write.

I could not register how much time went by as I stared at an almost blank notebook in front of me. Even in my good mood and eagerness to write I could not get any ideas and ended up closing my notebook with a heavy sigh. My good mood was already going down and the next thing I heard made it plummet even more.

Jenna's easily recognizable accent filled the room and I looked up to see her making conversation with Alan. I desperately hoped she would get some coffee and just leave without noticing me but sadly my expectations did not happen. She turned around and made eye contact with me for a while and smiled her very white teeth at me, deciding to walk to my table. Jenna was wearing a loosely fit white long sleeve shirt with black stitching on the front creating another set of eyes on her chest. She complemented her white shirt with a pair of black shorts and black sneakers. I found myself staring a bit and jolted back to a frown when she sat across from me.

"Hey Taylor, how's your day been?" She questioned and smiled at me again. In my state of annoyance I rolled my eyes with a huff and took my phone out to continue the game I started earlier. Jenna sat there quietly sipping at her drink and fiddling with the sleeves of her oversized shirt. It was kind of cute how she concentrated on pulling at the threads so much and I found myself staring again. Jenna looked up to me and I looked away quickly, mentally cursing myself for thinking about that at all.

"Are you mad at me?" Her voice squeaked from across the table. I looked back at her and saw her tugging at her sleeves a bit more frantically now and avoiding my gaze. I huffed and sat up straight to grab her hand and pull her away from destroying the hems of her sleeves.

"I'm not mad at you Jen I was just lost in thought about something and you caught me at the wrong time okay?" I answered her feeling a bit bad for giving her such a hard time. She really was just trying to be friendly to me and I was being so awful for no reason. I let go of her hand after realizing I was still holding it and sat back in my chair in a nonchalant way.

"Oh okay.. Sorry I just thought that you didn't like me or something since I seemed to annoy you for the past few days. I mean I know I can be a bit persistent in making new friends but I was ju-" I cut Jenna off by waving my hands and speaking up.

"No stop I'm just an asshole okay? Wanna take these coffees to go and walk around." I suggested and stood up grabbing my cup in the process.

"Oh alright sure!" Jenna smiled enthusiastically, her sad ramblings forgotten. We walked out of the coffee shop and Jenna told me about the town a bit and who worked in what shops and what places were her favorites. She knew a lot about this place but I wasn't that surprised since it was a small town. We eventually made it to a nice little park where she told me it was her favorite place to go.

"See this tree right here." Jenna nodded and walked up to it. "Sometimes I sit up here for hours and watch the people go by under me, and sometimes I watch the sun set and color the sky's until it's dark out. This is my favorite place honestly." she spoke in awe and sat under the trees massive branches. It was late in the afternoon but the sun was still rather high in the sky, too early for watching any sunsets, so I sat beside Jenna and observed the land around me.

She sighed in what I assumed was content and she continued to tell stories about the town. I zoned out a bit but queued back in when she leaned her shoulder on me. My heart fluttered for a second as I inched away but Jenna just took it as an invitation to get closer and rest her head on my shoulder. I shivered a little bit accepted the physical contact listening to her tell another story about some Alex kid falling out of the tree. Suddenly the sound of a phone going off filled my ears and startled me as Jenna shot up straight. I searched for my phone until I realized it was not mine that was ringing, but Jenna's.

"Hello?" She spoke into the phone looking at me apologetically. "I'm at the tree why... Oh my gosh I completely forgot! I'm so sorry..... Yeah okay sure I'll be on my way in a second... Alright you too... Bye." Jenna hung up and stood beside me. "I'm so sorry but I forgot I had plans to meet Alex. I kind of have to go now." She grabbed at her sleeves and looked down a bit after telling me about the phone call.

"No worries, I'll catch you here tomorrow right." I leaned my shoulder on the tree and shoved my hands in my jean pockets. Jenna looked up with a smile.

"Yea that sounds great!" She bubbled at my words. "How about we catch a movie?"

"Sounds perfect to me. See ya then Jen." I smiled as she said her goodbyes and walked off.
