Chapter 9

Annie's POV
*One Week Later*
Lately things have actually been okay, for the first time in forever. Filled with doctors appointments, dates, gymnastics, sleepovers. I've been busy.
The only thing I'm worried about, is Katie. She's been acting strange lately, hanging out with Liv. And I don't mean like just talking to her occasionally, like actually hanging out. They were starting to become best friends.
Katie doesn't really talk to me and Via anymore, just Liv and her "posse".
"Hey An!" Via greeted me with a hug as I entered the gym, still on crutches.
"Via! I can't wait for our sleepover with Syd tomorrow!" I squealed. We hugged once more, then started talking about random things.
We soon were called to warm ups. I was about to step out onto the mat when Katie blocked my way. I tried to step pass without making a scene.
"Annie, we need to have a talk after gym today." Katie said seriously. This can only mean bad things. We were assigned to different events, and soon it was time for school and lunch. As I was eating, Katie tapped my shoulder. I turned around and she motioned me to a more private area.
"Is it true you and Brennan, did it, and you called me annoying and a bitch?" Katie whispered. I was shocked at what she just said.
"Katie!" I whisper-yelled, "You of all people should know I would never do those things! Who told you that?"
"Liv did. And she would never lie." She said, defending her like she was her best friend.
"Of course she would! What has gotten into you!" I said, still whisper-yelling.
"Annie, she just made a few mistakes that's all." Katie looked down.
I didn't know what else to say. We just stood there in silence. I felt a pair of warm arms wrap around my body. Katie had tears rolling down her check onto my team jacket.
I didn't mind, and returned the hug.
"I'm sorry Annie. I love you best friend." She whispered, still getting my jacket a little wet.
"I love you too best friend." I whispered.
Soon our hug was brutally interrupted by the one and only Liv.
"Bitches." She said. "You two think your so great, and perfect. News flash! Your not. You ugly and worthless. Caleb probably died from just looking at your ugly faces." She mocked. Again with Caleb.
Tears streamed violently down my face, all my memories with Caleb rushing back into my brain. I held my thumby with Caleb's finger print as tight as I could.
"Oh stop. It's not like him dying was a big deal. He was worthless."
"Liv. How dare you say that about my best friend, girlfriend, and sister." Brennan suddenly appeared behind us.
"Brennan." Liv stuttered.
All of a sudden I started having a panic attack. This rarely happens to me, I guess the stress was starting to be too much. My breathing got heavier and the earth started spinning.
"Annie?" I heard multiple voices saying as I fell over onto my side. I felt strong hands pick me up and run somewhere. I saw Brennan.
Suddenly my breathing got slower and I calmed down. It was like Brennan just made everything seem better. He made me feel safe, and calm.
"Brennan." I whispered.
"I'm right here." He cooed. He was about to set me down when I gripped his shoulders harder.
"Don't let go." I cried. "I love you."
He smiled. "I love you too."

The next day I started feeling better after my panic attack. My only problem, was Liv started attacking me on social media, twitter, Instagram, Musical.ly, everything.
It was like I couldn't escape her. She would comment mean things, and even told me to kill myself, four times.
Tonight I was having Via, Syd, and now Katie over. I got set up downstairs, then made myself somewhat presentable.
I put on a black leggings, and a white tanktop with a lace trim at the bottom. Soon everyone had arrived.
We played downstairs and watched movies, and lots of other things.
My phone buzzed, I was getting a call from an unknown number. I decided to put it on speaker so everyone could hear.
"Is this Annie Leblanc?" The voice asked. It sounded familiar, but I didn't know who it belonged to.
"Yes?" I spoke.
"Please, do yourself, and everyone around you a favor, and go jump off a cliff, or find a way to kill yourself." I heard giggling in the background of the call. I hung up.
I went upstairs crying.
I grabbed a knife from the kitchen, a big one. I made a cut on my wrist. Blood spilled from my wrist.
"Annie stop!" A too familiar voice yelled. Brennan.
"Everyone wants me to Brennan. I deserve to be with Caleb" I cried.
He walked over to me and took the knife out of my hand and hugged me.
"Your not worthless. Those people who want you to kill yourself are worthless. This world would be dull without you. It would be a worthless, dark world."
We kissed. It was the same sparks that we had the first time we kissed. The sparks that just saved my life.
