Chapter 5!

Chapter 5-

Bella P.O.V-

Since I only had an hour and a half to get ready for my date tonight, I decided to text Jacob to see how he was going instead of driving over and visiting him in person. I asked him how he was and took a shower while I was waiting for him to reply. I used my favourite shampoo, it was raspberry scented. I inhaled deeply, sighing. I got out of the shower and heard my IPhone singing out one of my favourite songs; Inescapable, by Jessica Mauboy, indicating that I had a new message. It was from Jacob, it said; 'I am fine. How are you? What happened with Edward after I left? Can you come over tonight? I am feeling lonely,' I sighed whilst reading his text. I wanted nothing more than to go to him and run around on four legs with him but I couldn't. Yeah, I had a lot of powers, one is being able to shift into another form. I debated whether I should lie to him about Edward kissing me or not. In the end I decided I shouldn't lie to my new best friend and told him the truth. I replied to his text saying; 'I am glad you are okay, and yeah, I am fine. Nothing much happened after you left... well, Edward... he did kiss me, but I ran off right away. I am sorry, I can't come over tonight, I am going out with Edward and his family to play baseball! :) Fun (note the sarcasm) Bella. x' I sent it then picked out what I was going to wear. I decided on a pair of black straight leg jeans, a green tank top with the words; 'Team Vampire,' knowing how the Cullens would react. I slipped on my grey converse and slipped on a cropped jean jacket and I was ready to go. I grabbed my phone and purse on the way out. I started making Charlie's tea and was just writing a note for him when the bell rang.

"Come in, Edward!" I called out loudly.

I heard the door open and caught Edward's scent as he walked into the kitchen and came up behind me. I felt his hand on my back and turned around, he smiled at me.

"Are we ready to go? Emmett is waiting for you," Edward said, grinning.

"Yeah, I am ready," I grabbed my phone and purse off off of the table as I walked past on my way to the door. Edward followed me out and I shut the door behind me, locking up with the key from my keyring. Edward led me to a shiny silver Volvo.

"Nice car," I commented as I got in. I watched as he walked around to the other side of the car and get in. He turned the key but the car wouldn't start. I watched as his expression turned from blank to frustration to anger as he tried turning the key a lot of times yet his car still didn't start. He started scowling, but stopped when I pressed my finger to his mouth.

"We can take my car, okay," I told him soothingly. He nodded and jumped out of the car. He walked over to my car and jumped in with a tortured expression on his beautiful face. I laughed while I got in. I turned the key and my baby purred to life beneath me. I started reversing when my phone went off, signalling that I had a text.

"Can you please take a look at that for me, Edward?" I asked politely. He did and I saw him tense as he read it, "What does it say?" I asked, waiting for him to read it out and thinking that maybe I shouldn't have let him read it after all.

He read it out for me, "It says; 'I can not believe he kissed you! I am going to kill him! He better not hurt you tonight or he will burn! Stay away from that blood sucker!'" He paused to let me take all that in before starting again. "Why did you tell him I kissed you? Why did he call me a blood sucker?" Edward asked outraged and feigning confusion, "Vampires don't exist!" he then exclaimed loudly.

I rolled my eyes at his lie and decided to ignore his messages, "Can you please text back; 'You are not the boss of me Jacob, I can take care of myself. Edward can't hurt me! I can hurt him more! :)'  Thanks," I said as he pressed send.

"You wouldn't be able to hurt me!" Edward said grinning. I grinned too because I knew I would.

Of course I rose to the challenge in his words, "Naha! I can cause a lot more damage than you can!" I said grinning at him.

He looked forward at the road quickly and his eyes widened slightly, "You're about to miss the turn off!" He practically yelled at me.

"Jeez! I'm turning, I'm turning!" I shouted back at him, taking a sharp turn onto the road Edward was pointing at. He smiled at that and I scowled at him, making him smile even more.

"Okay, stop. We are here," Edward said, pointing to where the Cullen's other cars were parked and where they were gathered in a circle, glancing curiously at the new car that had just driven up. As we got out of the car, recognition flashed across their faces before Emmett started grinning.

"Didn't you want waste fuel and money? Huh Edward. Did you rather Bella pay? Not too romantic for your first date is it," Emmett said chuckling loudly. Edward walked up and slugged him and the two boys fell to the ground, rolling around and punching each other playfully.

I looked at him, "Stop guys! I thought we were here to play ball not wrestle around on the ground like a pair of girls having a catfight!" I yelled. They immediately stopped and got up but not without a few extra shoves. "Should we start now?" I asked. Everyone nodded and headed off to the field.

I was on Edward, Jasper and Esme's team. I was batting first and I stepped up to the base nervously. Alice swung the ball at vampire speed and I was about to swing and hit when I remembered that they thought that I was a human so I slowed my speed and missed. I scowled at Alice.

"Can you please throw the ball slower Alice!" I groaned, "I don't have freaky vamp---super powers or nothing," I said stuttering over the words as I nearly said the word vampire.

Alice grinned at me before feigning boredom, "I guess so Bella," She sighed dramatically. She threw the ball, slower this time and the bat connected with the ball and sent it flying out back. I bolted towards first base and made it to the third before they got the ball back to Alice as they also had to restrict their speed and strength while I was there. Edward was next and he sent it flying so far we both made it home. We gave everyone high fives as Esme stepped up to the base. She played intelligently and gained two bases before Jasper got the ball back in play, hitting it way out to the back, over everyone's heads. They both made it home just before Emmett jumped at home base. We jumped around and cheered.

Soon it was our time to field and I bowled. I was so caught up in the fun of the game that I threw it a bit harder and faster than anyone else had. It smacked into Jasper's hand loudly and everyone looked up at me shocked. I smiled and asked for the ball back quietly. I threw the ball really sluggishly this time and Emmett teased me about getting a fluke the first time around. I threw the third bowl better and Emmett hit it but got out when Edward tagged him halfway through second base and third base. I high fived him and poked my tongue out at Emmett victoriously. I bowled again for Alice and soon enough I was getting so caught up in the game that I actually started having fun.

It was eleven pm when I decided to head home. Edward walked me to my car and I hopped in and reversed, waving to him as I drove off. I got home and realised that his car was still here and he had my phone. I drove over to the Cullens house and was about to knock on the door when I heard Edward and Emmett talking loudly. I walked into the same room as them and asked Edward if I could get my phone and reminded him that his car was still in my driveway.
