Luke placed his phone on the table as Michael handed him another beer. After getting home from the day out with Ezra, he couldn't help, but wondering what she was doing. She was still on his mind it seemed 24/7 and Michael could see that his friend was heart struck. Everyone he heard her name slip from Michael lips in a conversation his heart would skip and his hands would become clammy.

Luke didn't think of it though. His friend was just filling his mind with words and idea's. He knew Ezra would never fall for him. With his tattoos and piercings, he wasn't exactly the poster boy for boyfriends. Most fathers banded their daughters from seeing him as they thought the worse. That Luke was a junkie looking for a hook-up, but he didn't do any of that stuff. Like he told Ezra, he'd never even had sex before. Of course he's tried, but backed out at the last minute. He wanted it to be special not a drunk hookup.

"So what did you two do today?" Michael asks before taking a swing from his beer. He was happy his friend found someone else to talk too. Course he had the boys at the shop, but this was a female. Someone to develop feelings for and protect from people. Someone to love.

"When I got to the school, she was in a submissive state as this kid was yelling at. When I walked over I could hear the things he was saying. 'You are worthless. No one cares about you' type shit. I told the little fuck that I was her boyfriend and we walked off. I should've killed the fucker when I had the chance. He was messing with my girl."

"Funny cause last time I checked she wasn't your girl. Hell she wasn't anyones. Come on man. Admit it, you like her." Michael smirked, motioning his bottle to him. Luke shook his head as his blonde haired friend and drank his liquid. "Luke have you seen her. She's drop dead."

"And that's exactly why I can't pursue things. She's so fucking gorgeous with her pink hair and grey eyes. And her smile just- brightens up my day. She's a survivor and I want to help her. But I can't pursue her." Luke muttered softly. No matter how much he wanted to be something to her, he just couldn't. He wasn't the right guy for her. She needed someone educated and that would be there for her whenever she needed him. To make her better.

"Luke, she seems to have some sort of attraction towards. Of all the people she could've contacted this afternoon, she asked you to pick her up. The two of you had a wonderful afternoon. If she didn't like your presence then she would've asked you to take her home and that would've been the end of the conversation. Don't give up on this feeling yet because this is the happiest that I've see you since you dated Chloe. Take a chance. Don't let this girl walk away because someone else will come around and take her and you'll live your life in regret."

Ezra woke up the next morning with a headache, but her heart hurt more than her head. She wished her father never put his hands on her. It made their relationship even more damaged than it was before yesterday. She wished her mother had taken her when she had left her father. Maybe then she wouldn't have tried to relieve her pain.

She cried all night and not one did any of her family come to see if she was okay. That made her seem even more worthless then she already thought she was. She cried because she was going to cut until she couldn't feel, breaking every promise she ever made to make sure she didn't.

Lifting herself out of the bed she noticed a note on her table beside her bed. She picked it up slowly and read the slightly cursive writing. She sighed already knowing it was her father. 'Ezra, there's banana's on the table for you too take. I'll be home around 9 tonight. Your mother will be home around 6. The twins have tennis practice after school so you don't have to worry about them. Don't make bad decisions.'
