"God who knew wedding planning could be so fucking hard." Luke sighed as he fell on the bed in their shared apartment. It'd been three years since the two had gotten engaged and the two had just started planning their wedding. Ezra wanted to wait until she was in her last year of college before doing anything and the first day of school was when she started looking for dresses.
"No one said it was going to be easy." Ezra yawned, closing her laptop. Her back was up against the headboard as Luke rested his head on her stomach. Her fingers brushed his fringe back as a smile fell on her face. His now blonde hair was the same length as it was 3 years ago, but the sides and back were shaved in an undercut style. It was a surprise to Ezra when he walked in with his hair almost gone, but she loved it.
Ezra's appearance had changed more than anything. She'd gotten an L tattooed on the back of her arm to match Luke's tattoo and a few other things. All with meaning to them. On her inner pinky was her fathers name, something her father cried over. Her hair was now black with teal tips and her grey eyes were now blue.
Ezra grew out of her high school almost as soon as Luke did. She wanted to be an adult and having the colored hair wasn't something an adult had. Her scars had also faded on her thighs and stomach and she was proud to show them now. They weren't scars to her anymore then were battle wounds. So was lucky too survive and she was happy that she did.
"I can't wait though. To finally marry you. I'm going to be the best husband ever to you." Luke smiled, leaning up to kiss Ezra's shoulder.
"You're going to be my only husband Luke." She looked over at Luke and smiled, kissing his lips. He straddled her waist as the two found love within each other. "Not tonight." Ezra whispered, pulling away.
"You say that after I get a boner. That's Ezra." Luke rolled his eyes, before flopping over onto his side of the bed.
"I'm sorry, but mother nature presented me a gift today and I don't think you'd won't blood on your-"
"Too much information babe." He laughed getting off the bed and heading over to the en suite. "I'm going to take a shower. Find a good show on Netflix, I feel like Netflix and chilling tonight."
"Don't make a mess." She yelled, only to have a door closed in response. She quietly laughed to herself and got out of bed to make popcorn for the two of them.
Ezra loved her life. She could honestly say that she was happiest she'd ever been and nothing seemed to make her sad or depressed. The voices in her head are gone and surprisingly her and Jason made up and are now friends again. Everything was perfect in her world. Until the doorbell ran.
She placed the bags of popcorn down and slowly walked to the door. She wasn't expecting anyone at 2 in the morning. Maybe it was Kyle or Ashton and Luke just forgot to tell her. Once she opened the door she was surprised to see who it was.
Eyes were bloodshot masking the beautiful green. Tears were flowing down his pale skin and his blonde hair was wet upon his forehead as the rain pored down. "I'm sorry. I-I know it's l-late, but I d-didn't know where e-else to g-go." He stuttered. Ezra pulled him in and placed him on the couch before running upstairs to get a towel.
"Who was at the door?" Luke asked, shaking his hair out.
"Michael. He's sobbing Luke." Ezra frowned, thinking of why Michael was so upset. Did it have something to do with Kyle? "I don't know what's wrong, but he's really upset about it."
"Let me get dressed and I'll meet you down there." Ezra nodded her head before leaving the room with a blue towel in hand. "Here you are." She presented the towel to Michael who gladly took it. "You want to tell me what happened?"
"We were at a party. I told him, I promised him I wasn't going to get drunk. I just wanted to have a good time. If I'd known that my ex was going to be there I would've never been there. Ezra believe me when I say, I didn't mean for it to happen. I didn't think he'd kiss me."
"Michael I need you to tell me what exactly happened. You are making any sense."
"Kyle saw my ex kiss me, but he left before he saw that I pushed him away. He thinks I cheated on him and I told him after that I was so sorry and that it wasn't my fault. He told me to find my own place to stay tonight and I came here. He said he needed space to think about what happened. We'd been fighting lately and this might have sealed the deal. God, Ezra I can't lose him. He's the best thing I've ever had." When Luke came downstairs, Michael was crying on Ezra's lap. He'd only seen his best friend like the twice. When he broke his foot and when he accidentally burned his face trying to light a grill.
"He won't leave you okay. Let me try talking to him. You two are supposed to be walking each other down the aisle at our wedding and I'm not settling for less." Michael cracked a smile, before Ezra got up and heading upstairs to grab her phone. Luke sat next to Michael and he laid his head on the younger boys lap.
"I was going to ask him to marry me next week. We'd been fighting over bills and stupid shit. I wanted to make him happy and I knew he was at that point where he wanted to get engaged, but I waited and waited until I fucked up. He's never going to want to marry me now." Michael chocked, his eyes squeezed shut. His heart was hurting more than it ever had just at the thought of Kyle never wanting to marry Michael.
"Michael, he'd be an idiot if he didn't marry you. Just- give him time to figure out where his emotions lie. Let him figure out that he still loves you and that he can't be without anyone else, but you." Luke reassured. It didn't help Michael though. In his mind, he and Kyle were broken up the minute Kyle walked away in the pouring rain.
"Is it okay, If I stay with you guys for a while. I have to go back tomorrow to get a few things."
"Do you want one of us to go?" Luke asked, but Michael shook his head no.
"I want to do this alone." Michael whispered, hoping Kyle was there when he went home. Home. Was it even his home anymore. The only home he had left him to go to LA for a job opportunity. The only home he had was with Kyle and that all might be in jeopardy. "If Kyle and I do break up, I think I'm going to go live with my parents. I promised them that if I didn't get married by the time I was 28, I'd have to move with them and start fresh. Meet new people."
"Do you really want too?"
"I think after your wedding I might. If Kyle and I can't fix things, then yeah I'll move to LA, but if we do then I'll stay."
"I'm not letting you leave me all alone Michael. I promise that we'll get you two back together, okay? If not marry Calum. He's still single."
"No. That dude is so in love with his dog it's fucking weird." Michael sniffled, getting comfortable on the couch.
"He is. I'm going to head up now. If you need anything all okay?" Michael nodded, tears forming at the thought of sleeping alone. "It'll be okay Michael. I promise." Michael tried to smile, but he knew in his heart that nothing would ever be okay again.
