"Luke?"
"Allison?" Luke whispered, feeling his heart beat faster in his chest. He stared at the woman in front of his, more specifically his ex-girlfriend. The one who cheated on him while he was away 2 years ago. All he wanted to do was go back to his home and cry.
It wasn't that he missed her, it was the pain he felt during that time. The way he felt after he found out that it was one of his best friends; Carter, who did it. How insecure Luke was and how low he was during that time. The two years of his life, spent in the corner while he watched his life pass him by.
"W-what're you doing here?" He asked, running his hand through his hair. His hand was still intertwined with Ezra's.
Ezra. He thought in his mind. She was standing there while she watched everything happen. The way Luke was acting was something she'd never seen before. He looked like he'd seen a ghost and all Ezra could do was stand there and watch it all go down in front of her.
"You're mother called me over to get something for my mum. Some recipe or something. Um, I was just heading out when you showed up. I'll let her know you guys are here. Come on inside." She opened the door wider for them to come inside. Allison smiled at Ezra on her way in and she couldn't help, but feel a weird vibe from her.
"You go in the kitchen, I'll take our stuff up okay?" Luke took her bag from her hand and walked up the stairs without any other word. She waited until she couldn't see him anymore before walking towards the kitchen where she could hear Liz' voice.
"So you and Luke are dating?" Allison said as they walked down the hallway. Ezra looked at her and nodded tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "I remember when we started dating. He was shy and barely took up the nerve to ask me out, but when he did he was proud of himself."
"You two dated?" Ezra asked making Allison nod.
"Yeah, it didn't end very well between us. We were engaged and I found out that he cheated on me with one of my friends." Allison nonchalantly said making Ezra's eyes widened and her heart break. "Hey Liz, I'm going to head out. I'll bring this back sometime next week." And with that Allison left.
Ezra stood in her spot in the hallway, watching Allison leave. Her heart broke hearing that Luke cheated on her. That they were engaged and Luke had cheated. She didn't know tears where falling until Luke came down asking her if everything was okay.
"Ezra what happened?" He placed his hands on her cheeks, but Ezra took them off before leaving the house without a word. "Mum." He said, his voice hoarse. His mother looked at him with a frown.
"Luke, I didn't hear you come in. What's wrong?" Liz rubbed her hands with a towel to remove that water from them.
"Did Allison say anything to Ezra?" He asked, but Liz just nodded her head no. Luke heard a car start and he ran out of the house.
"What did you say to her?" He yelled. Allison put her car in park before stepping out. "What the fuck did you say to her?" He asked, his voice cracking. Allison sported a smirk on her face and her arms crossed across her chest.
"I told her the truth Luke. She deserved to know the truth about you. Come on babe, you shouldn't be dated a child when you could have me again. I want to be with you again." Allison placed a hand on Luke face, but Luke pushed it away. His fists were clamped shut in order to keep his anger from coming to surface.
"You are a bitch, Allison. What the fuck did you tell her?"
"I told her that you cheated on me with my best friend when we were engaged." She said. Luke felt his heart break as the words left her mouth. He wanted to cry out of frustration and anger over Allison.
"I-I have to find her. If I ever see you again, I swear to God I will kill you." Luke seethed before running in any direction. He had to find her before anything happened. He had to make sure she was okay and that she knew the truth. "Ezra!" He yelled.
He shouted and shouted until his voice just gave up. His eyes had been blocked by tears and all he could do was sit on the curb and let it all out. He felt as if he'd lost her and they weren't even at his parents house longer than 15 minutes. He promised everything would be fine and now this had happened.
"Luke?" He heard a feminine voice next to him. He looked up and saw Ezra with tears down her face. He shook his head and placed his face in his hands. "Tell me the truth please. You o-owe me that."
"I never cheated. I never fucking cheated on her with anyone." He cried. Ezra took a seat next to him and laid her head on his shoulder. "She is a-a monster Ezra. She was so demanding and always wanted to be in control with everything. She'd tell me that I needed to lose weight or that my tattoos were unattractive and how ugly I was. I h-hated myself. I wouldn't eat or sleep because of her. I never left her because I was so in love with her that I saw past it all. When I asked her to marry me I was shocked she said yes. God I-I was so stupid that I did that. I shouldn't have ever done that."
"Luke-"
"No. When I found out she cheated on me it was the week before out wedding. I went to our apartment and she was on the couch with some guy to which I found out was one of my friends. I didn't bother staying, I just left home and went to Michaels and that was almost two years ago. I-I never cheated on her Ezra. She is a fake and always has been and I don't know why she thought to tell you that-that lie, but I would never ever ever cheat on you Ezra."
"Luke, I ran off because I thought she was telling the truth. I was gullible and fell into her trap and I'm so sorry. I'm sorry that she did that to you and I'm sorry for not even letting you talk. I just had this thought that maybe you were just like Jessie and I'm so stupid for thinking that because you aren't anything like him. You are strong and even when you try to be, like right now, it shows that you are human Luke. I don't want you to hold anything back from okay? I should've come talk to you first before being the little bitch that I am and left." She said, making Luke life a little through his tears.
"God, I love you so much." Ezra turned his head and brushed away his tears. It was the first time she'd seen him cry and it broke her heart. He stuck his lips out and Ezra kissed them lightly. "And just so you know; you give head way better then she ever fucking did."
