"Home sweet home." Abby said dropping her keys on the counter.

"I guess I never realized how nice this was. But I was also to busy bleeding out." Marcus says.

"Yeah. Spare bedroom's in there." Abby says pointing.

"Thank you. I know this isn't easy-" Marcus says.

"Just shut up and go to bed." Abby says walking toward the master bedroom.

"Yes ma'am." Marcus says.

Abby wakes up in the middle of the night. She hears screaming. She runs into the spare bedroom and turns on the lights.

"Marcus?" Abby asks, making sure he is okay.

"Sorry. It was just a nightmare." Marcus says, grabbing her wrists gently.

Abby nods, "want to talk about it?" She asks.

"What happened to you don't want to talk about me?" Marcus asks sitting up against the headboard.

"I have them too. You don't have to be afraid. You know that right?" Abby asks.

"I'm not afraid. I'm just...." Marcus trails off.

"I really did love you. You know, before you lied to me."

"I didn't want to fall in love with you. I hated it." He says as she sits on the bed beside him. "The feeling of want and desire. Feeling that again, it made everything less real. Because falling in love with you was like living in a fairytale. It was......beautiful."

Abby blushes, "yeah. Except I'm not a princess."

"You are to me." Marcus says.

Abby looks him in the eye and Marcus just stares into her brown eyes.

Marcus hesitates then leans forward, kissing her lips softly. Abby stills for just a moment then kisses him back. It doesn't last long because Marcus pulls back.

"Sorry. I had to do that one last time." Marcus says, leaning back against the headboard.

"I'm not saying we can't be together ever. Just not right now."

"I'd wait forever for you." Marcus says.

Abby starts laughing along with Marcus, "you sound like the stereotypical guy from those cheesy Chick flicks." Abby frowns when she sees a red dot on his forehead.

"Abby?" Marcus asks.

"There's a red dot on your head." Her voice is shaky.

"Hey. Don't panic. Act like everything is okay." He tells her.

"Someone is trying to assassinate us. Everything is NOT okay." Abby tells him.

"Then fake it." He says.

"I'm scared." Abby says.

"I know." Marcus says, then glances at the window. "Down!" Marcus yells tackling Abby off the bed and onto the ground.

A gunshot rings out as Abby and Marcus's bodies fall to the ground.

"Ow." Abby says.

Marcus is covering Abby's body with his own. "Please tell me you still have that gun." He pleads.

"Top drawer. Night stand." Abby says.

Marcus gets the gun out and cocks the gun. "You. Under the bed. Now." He tells her.

"What are we? Five?" She asks.

"Is this really the time for jokes? And no, we're six." Marcus says shoving her under the bed.

"Aren't you coming?" Abby asks.

"Yeah. Once they're dead." Marcus says staying low.

"They could kill you." Abby says.

"Yeah. Or I could kill them."

"Be careful." Abby tells him.

"You too. If something happens, you head for that fire escape and you get the heck out of here. Got it?" He says in a stern voice.

"Marcus-"

"Got it?" He asks her again.

"If things go to crap. Fire escape. Got it." Abby says.

"Good girl." Marcus says, then he makes his way to the hallway.

Marcus makes his way down the hallway checking for men as he does. He's been through enough to know there is always more than one.

He walks a little further when he hears someone behind him. He jerks around, pointing his gun at Cage.

"Cage."

"Kane. Trust me. Put the gun down." He says.

"No. Why don't you give me one reason." Marcus says.

"You're trapped." Cage says and soldiers surround Marcus.

Marcus lowers his gun, throws it onto the floor and kicks it to Cage. Cage picks it up. "Now we can talk."

Abby doesn't move an inch from where she is hidden under the bed. She sees soldiers come into her apartment. "Search the place. She is still here." Says a voice.

Emerson.

Emerson comes into the guest room as her apartment is torn apart and dissected. He sits down on the bed.

"Sir. Nothing in the other rooms. Perhaps she went down the fire escape?" The soldier suggested.

"No. She's here."

"How do you know sir?"

"Because I know Abby." Emerson says getting up and squatting down by the bed, "and if there is one thing Abby would never ever do. That thing is leave a man behind." Emerson says, then he lifts up the bed skirt, revealing Abby's hiding location. "Hello Abs."

Abby panics and rolls out the other side of the bed, running toward the fire escape, but she is too late. A soldier grabs her and turns her around toward Emerson. She fights to let go, but can't. Abby stills when Emerson grabs her wrists.

He wraps an arm around her neck putting her in a choke hold. He puts his other arm on the back of her head, so in one quick movement he could snap her neck.

"Walk." He tells her.

"I'm offering you a job." Cage tells Marcus. "Come back. Work for me. I pay well. Anything you want. You can have. Money. Drinks. Women."

"I'm not that guy anymore." Marcus tells Cage.

"Once a murderer. Always a murderer." Cage says.

"I'm not doing it." Marcus says.

"Very well. Emerson!" Cage yells.

"Right here sir." Emerson says pushing him and Abby thought the soldiers.

"Abby." Marcus says.

"Marcus. I'm sorry. I didn't have time to get out." Abby says, her face wet with tears.

"Its not your fault. I'll fix this." Marcus says.

Everything freezes when everyone hears sirens.

"Sedate them and get them into the cars. Now!" Cage orders.

Sorry I have been on vacation. But here's an update.
