Song: Planetary (GO!) by My Chemical Romance

Patrick's POV

Today is game day. Pete's gonna do good right?

I mean we've been practicing a lot lately. Yeah he'll be fine.

But today I have an interview at Yale. It's gonna be easy right? Yeah I've got this.

"You ready yet suiteheart?" His mom calls from downstairs.

"Uh, yeah just hold on a sec" I tell her.

I can do this. It's for Pete.

I jog down the stairs.

"Alright I'm ready, let's go" I say as we get in the car.

Pete's POV

Fucking hell.

This is gonna be terrible. I'm so nervous.

It's only a football game and if I lose for us Patrick's life will be ruined. Just do it for Patrick.

I've got this.

As they call for our team the guys start running onto the field.

Right when I get out there I'm blinded by bright white lights and a roar of cheers from the crowd.

After about half an hour and it's 7 to zero. So we're losing.

I wonder how Patrick's doing at Yale?

Patrick's POV

As I'm listening to music a man gets my attention.

"You can go in" he tells me and I nod.

As I open the door I see an older man sitting at a desk.

"Mr. Wentz?" He asks.

"Yes, Peter" I tell him my name and nod.

"Please, take a seat" he motions toward the chair opposite of him.

I sit down in the chair and wait for him to talk.

"Well Peter one of the qualities we hope for in any Yale student is their passion. Your term paper and test results are exemplary but, your love and knowledge of literature is rare in a person of your years" he begins.

"Thank you, it's an important part of my life" I nod.

He motions for me to continue.

"Poetry for instance- I like the way it can articulate and express feelings, complicated and difficult feelings that you can't explain literally" I say.

"What about modern literature? Are there any contemporary writers or poets that you particularly admire?" He asks.

"No not really" I answer.

"Oh, why is that?" He questions.

"Because they suck" I say hesitantly.

"Oh, surely if poetry is no longer relevant then poets and their art form are doomed to extinction" he says.

"Oh" I mutter.

"I think that will be all" he gathers some papers on his desk.

I stand up and see my reflection in a window. You have to do this for Pete.

"Actually I do like some modern poets, in fact I love them" I grab his attention.

"Oh" he says taken back.

"Yeah Wiz Khalifa, RUN-DMC, Beastie Boys" I continue.

"I don't think I'm familiar with their work" he says confused.

"Well they're rap artists" I tell him pulling out my headphones.

"And you consider that to be poetry?" He asks me.

"Absolutely, it's urban poetry sir, they talk about their lives and their experiences and they can be very brutal but, often undercut with humor, a dark humor, here check it out" I say as I hand him the headphones playing 'It's Tricky' by RUN-DMC.

After the interview is done I run outside and wait for a bus to take me to the game.

Pete's POV

After we call heads or tails for who gets the ball first our team wins.

Brendon gives me a nod and then I feel myself being crushed.

It's the last quarter now and it's 14 to 0 so we're still losing.

I see Patrick sitting next to his parents and he gives me a nod.

Then someone tackles me once again.

"Alright, you just messed with the wrong guy" I stand up.

Once I set the game I start dodging big guys.

We get a catch and run as I throw it to Brendon and the crowd cheers.

After a while we get to kick the ball giving us extra points.

It's now 14 to 10 and there's five seconds left.

"Ready, hut" I yell.

I dodge the large teenagers running towards me and jump over some people while I'm running too.

Yes! I got a touchdown!

"And the Beavers win folks!"

We won.
