[A/N: Okay, so... since Melanie Martinez released her Mad Hatter music video, Miraculous Ladybug season 2 is going to air soon, and I have kept you, my beloved readers, waiting for like, forever... *inhales deeply* I have decided to continue this story, after all. *smiles slightly* But there are going to be slight changes in my original plans. I wouldn't be accurately following the way the plots in each episodes will flow through (note: the order of the chapters are based on the chronological order of the English Dub). Actually, I think I'll be manipulating some key elements of Miraculous for this fic of mine to really 'work'. Mainly because this fanfic is set in a dark, twisted alternate universe. That said, the atmosphere might drastically change. But I hope I had kept my promise and manage not to disappoint you guys. Over a year of hiatus drains a huge amount of imagination!]

To say that (Y/N) had ultimately changed was a big word; she preferred to use the term 'reborn'.

Numerous events unfolded after that one faithful, unforgettably painful yet bittersweet night- Gabriel Agreste switched her back to homeschooling by her request, granted until the time came (Y/N) wished to resume going to her public school. Her modelling career was put on hold, as they all agreed that that too, was for the best. There was no real explanation that was carried out as to why she'd be dormant, but somehow, Nathalie managed to make things work.

So now, (Y/N) (L/N) was officially on a short break - or a small 'vacation', as they say, when in truth it was more of her rehabilitation process.

Days pass, and soon, those days turned into weeks. Over the course of this, Voron had been secretly honing her skills as his 'Alice', a fancy name he liked to address his miraculous holders with. Without the young girl's consent, he'd force her to seek out missions revolving with the Akumas, indirectly disrupting the balance with Ladybug and Chat Noir.

But those hooligans weren't his ulterior motive.

Oh, no. The sullied kwami desired something else... something quite like what Hawkmoth was after. The difference was, Voron was only after one thing.

... wait, no. That wasn't right either.

Voron was after someone.

Every day, every hour, every minute- every second- he grew ever so stronger. The strain and fatigue he's dumping on (Y/N) at each transformation was absolutely insane! This resulted in a massive change of personality on his Alice's part. With the correct amount of (madness) psychology and a harmless pint of (insanity) crazy, (Y/N) had never felt so alive her entire life.

The best part? It was almost unnoticeable.

Almost.

"Are you sure you don't want to come with me to school? A lot of our friends miss you very much," Adrien pouted. This was the millionth time he asked this question to (Y/N), and it was starting to irritate Voron. To him, Adrien Agreste was one obstacle he could never really overcome, not while (Y/N) had leftover feelings for him. Yeah, sure, she kind of had given up on him, but the way things were flowing, all his brilliant plans would crumble.

Love was such a nuisance.

"Yes, Riri, I'm sure," (Y/N) smiled tiredly, the fatigue from last night's crusade evident on her features.

Adrien didn't seem convinced, but he didn't press on. "Okay, but remember, whenever you change your mind..." he smiled that heartwarming smile at her again.

(Y/N) laughed; he needn't say anything else. "I got it. Say hi to everyone for me!" She said as Adrien swung his bag over one shoulder.

He nodded, smile still present. "I will! Have a good day, (nickname)!" He said, waving goodbye before leaving.
