The Saber War Begins

The night was spent in celebration. No one knew the reason for the celebration but there were many speculations. Joeret thought it was because they had gained two new comrades. G.T. guessed it was because Creator had finally gotten a chance to get revenge for the death of his parents.

It wasn't too cold, yet not too warm. There was an occasional breeze of wind to cool down the surrounding if the temperature went up. The trees rustled with joy and the fumes of the fire they had light rose high, giving out a pleasant fragrance. The fireflies on the grass and bushes looked like precious stones embedded on a crown, shining occasionally, making the night too calm.

The celebration wasn't too rowdy, yet it wasn't a bit boring. The mutants told Paul about the rituals and practices of their respective countries. The talked of the beauty of the landscapes of their planet. The one thing that interested Paul was the land east to the Larsea Ocean, one of the only two oceans of Mutaforgia, the other being Rarose Ocean.

They all had a few drinks, the teenagers (CoolBoy and Archer) had juice but from their behavior, it was clear that they had secretly drank almost a whole bottle of alcohol. Paul didn't think it was a good idea to drink as they were going to fight a battle the next day. They only had a few hour's journey to the Sabers, as the trees had told CoolBoy.

They had no strategies, as Joeret was too drunk to make any. She was the brains of the team and the strategist of the team, though she confessed she wasn't too good with strategies.

The night passed and they slept early despite the celebration. They woke late, which surprised some of them but Joeret claimed it was because of the drinks they had had the previous night.

Paul seemed to have woken before as they had already covered a few miles. The L.E. had become their home ever since the arrival of Paul. It had almost every facility required for their survival, a mini-hospital (but no doctor), a couple of toilets, a magnificient room with several beds, a kitchen (with automated cooking) , the control room (which rarely required anyone as L.E. did not need a pilot) and a few more rooms which were used for storage.

The bed room had a floor which was tiled with brown marble tiles, and the walls was painted with a calming peach color. The beds were lined neatly and the sheets were changed once a week. There were four windows in the bedroom, Two on either side of the door. At the very end of the L.E., close to its tail, was where they kept the bins. They would land occasionally to dump the garbage and sometimes they would dump it mid-air. They tried to avoid that as often as possible as they did not want ordinary people to be covered in garbage.

The metallic eagle was definitely fast. One of Creator's favorite things to do was looking out the L.E.'s windows as it soared in the open skies, flapping its huge wings. He often wondered how  something so huge and  heavy could fly so smoothly. He acknowledged Paul's knowledge very often, as he was one of the very few mutants who could understand the science and a little bit of its mechanism of L.E.

He had been taught mechanics so that his powers could be used for creating machines, as well as other things. He quite enjoyed mechanics and his mind was blown away when Paul explained the mechanism of L.E.. He had used the simplest mechanisms and tools in a very complex pattern and sequence.

The hours passed as they flew over a few rivers and towns (some of which were ruined) and many forests. Seeing so many trees in a few hours surprised Paul, as there were very few trees where he lived.

Little dot-sized men appeared to Skyhawk ( as he had put on his armor) from a height of a few thousand miles, as he had the sight of an eagle. After diving down a few hundred miles and circling the place, he could see the whole view very clearly.

It looked like a battleground prepared by destiny. He could see open ground of a hundred mile radius, filled with mutants of various sizes and shaped. One thing that was similar in them all was the sinister and EVIL aura they gave out. The army seemed to be standing in a pattern yet not in an order.

One man stood ahead the rest. He was tall (accurately seven foot, as Skyhawk couldn't tell the exact height of the an from the high altitude), dressed in a green metallic armor, which surprised Skyhawk as the green color looked very natural. He didn't seem to have monstrous strength but it was definitely more than the rest of the mutants that stood behind him.

Behind him stood a group of eight, one was a middle aged man in a red, skin-tight shirt with  the letter 'W' written on it multiple times. Another one of them was a teenager. He held daggers in both his hands, many more daggers strapped all over his body. He looked up and said something to the man in front, the leader, and they both looked up. It seemed as if they had noticed the L.E. because the leader had halted the army.

Behind the group of ten stood the pawns. They looked weaker than the ten ahead of them and they were surely weaker than the leader. Skyhawk landed the L.E. at least ten miles away from the hundred mile battleground. The ground had interested Skyhawk as it had an exact hundred mile radius. Not a mile more or less from any side of the center.

The team marched towards the battleground, motivated and inspired yet nervous and scared. They each had a motivation, some wished to follow Creator to their deaths, some were mad at Saberclaw for destroying many villages and taking so many lives, some wished to kill the evil-doers and Creator wanted revenge.

Creator, Roselle, Shadow, Skyhawk, G.T., CoolBoy, Joeret, Archer, Flamer and Hound, a team of ten against an army of thousand mutants. Ten mutants with motivation against a thousand mutants with feelings of malice.

CoolBoy became the most important asset of the team, as he provided them with a hundred tree soldiers. His abilities were growing and controlling trees to his will. He controlled a hundred trees at once, which would be of some help, he was sure.

They reached the battleground. The surrounding was very hot, or perhaps it was the intensity of the situation. Creator stared Saberclaw in the eye. Creator's facial expression clearly displayed his anger and hatred. On the other hand, Saberclaw had a confident, mocking and evil smile on his face.

"It's been a while, Cree. Have you been missing your uncle?" mocked Saberclaw in a bold voice, as his smile intenisfied.
