Paul had been left alone and boycotted by all of the members of the team except Joeret for several days.

"Don't worry about them," she would say often in an attempt to calm him down. "They think that you had a hand in his..... murder."

They all (save Paul as he had seen it happen) refused to believe that Creator was dead, despite seeing the arm of Skyhawk's during the battle. They believed that he was merely missing and would return someday.

"You shouldn't have hid it from us," said Joeret one day. "He was our leader and we have the right to know when he goes missing. You should have told us that he had gone missing during the mysterious battle."

"Listen, Joeret... Cree is dead. I know you don't want to believe it since the only one who ever told you that was Saberclaw but I saw it happen and there is no denying it. He gave me his powers and died on the battlefield," replied Paul.

Beads of tears started forming in her eyes. She feared that this might be the truth but she never wanted to believe it.

"Why did you not tell us?" she said, trying to hold back her tears.

"Because it was too depressing to even think about it," replied Paul. He was about to break into a flood of tears himself.

"'Reliable sources', Saberclaw had said. The team suspects that reliable source was you." revealed Joeret.

Paul could not accept what he was hearing. The team he had held so dearly thought of him as an enemy spy ; he just couldn't believe it.

"But... I suppose its natural. I did hide the fact that Cree was dead from them. It's only expected that they grow at least a little bit of suspicion towards me. Its normal that they think me as a traitor," he responded, looking down at the earth in an attempt to hide his tears.

Joeret put a finger below Paul's chin and raised his depressed face up to face her. She looked right into his eyes and smiled.

"What is it? Why are you smiling?" he asked.

"I find it weird," she said. "I find it weird that whenever I look into your eyes, instead of seeing my own face reflected, I see compassion, care and courage. Your eyes make it clear that you're worth my faith."

Paul looked at her for a while, in awe and in disbelief. Never had he seen anyone other than himself with such  impressive intellectual prowess. Then he saw something in her eyes that increased his respect for her even more.

Although the others thought of him as a traitor, the love for Paul that could be seen in Joeret's eyes remained unmoved. She didn't love him any less than she did before the bitter shock was delivered.

Paul couldn't control himself as his emotions took over his body. He had realized his inner feelings and pulled Joeret in for a long and loving kiss.

When he finally pulled back, Joeret broke into tears of joy. Her eyes were widened in surprise and disbelief. She had received the kiss she longed for.

"I love you, Joeret," said Paul without any hesitation or thought because he knew it was the truth.

"I love you too, Paul," she replied as she sobbed and hugged him.

Paul and Joeret sat at a cliff close by to the L.E. talking till the sun had set and the dark night filled the sky.  Paul had always looked at the night sky a bit differently than the other people. He thought of it as a dying person ; riddles with bullets and bleeding silver blood (the stars).

Creator had shown this cliff to Paul.

"Only we know of this place," he had said. Paul remembered the emotions that this place had filled him with clearly. He still felt the love, joy and warmth he had felt that day.

'Mother's Lap'  was the name Creator had given to the cliff, for the placement of the boulders resembled the folded laps of a woman when looked at from the sky. Another reason for the name was that the warmth and love felt by anyone who stood or slept at the cliff felt similar to the feeling of sleeping on the laps of their mother.

Paul didn't have a clue how sleeping on the lap of a mother felt. As a matter of fact, he had no idea how having a mother felt but he accepted the name of the cliff silently.

"It all feels wrong to me," Paul said, after a long silence.

"What does?" asked Joeret.

"Cree risked the life of you all just to avenge the death of his parents. That's a bit selfish, isn't it?"

"No... That's not the only reason." she said and said nothing after that, as if she wished to drop the topic.

"Is there a way to conceal one's memories while giving them your power and consciousness?" asked Paul.

Joeret sat and thunk for a while, as if trying to remember something. "I do remember reading something about concealing memories while giving your powers to anyone random."

"Random?"

"Yes. When you do not tell your powers a specific name to go to, they chose anyone they think worthy of possessing them."

"The powers have a conscious thinking of their own?" he asked.

"Only when they are given the task to chose the one who possesses them. If one does not wish for his memories and knowledge to fall into the hands of random people, they can conceal their memories."

Paul looked at her in awe.

"What?" asked Joeret with a giggle.

"You really are intelligent." said Paul.

"There are various types of intelligent. The clever or cunning, creative and bookworms are some of them. Those who are good at inventing or discovering things, such as yourself, fall under the second category whereas I, fall into the third." explained Joeret.

"PAUL!!" shouted CoolBoy, as he ran towards them.

"Yes?" said Paul, surprised and happy as it had been days since CoolBoy had talked to him.

CoolBoy was just about to say something when suddenly, a throwing knife flew past them and pierced CoolBoy's heart.

"SEERAN!!! (See-raan)" shouted Paul as he ran towards him.

He looked down the cliff to see who it was with his eagle sight but he had already known who it was without even looking, the Thrower.

The two of them, Joeret and Paul, quickly carried him to the L.E. and immediately began his treatment.

They both had a decent amount of medical knowledge and did what they could.

"It will take him a while," said Joeret to Felice, who was the most worried of them.

"I'll sit by him tonight," said Felice and sat by him on a chair. She looked at Paul, "How did you know his name?"

"I'll explain tomorrow," he said and left the room, leaving Felice and Seeran alone.

"Get well soon, my love," she said to Seeran, who was fast asleep as she held his hand and sat by him throughout the night.
