The team had all returned to the L.E., panting and slightly injured. Their journey back was a rather difficult one, as they were being persistently chased by the Sabers. The leader of the Sabers, Saberclaw, had ordered a few of his subordinates to chase the family until they had either been killed or killed the one being chased. The Sabers seemed to have found the former easier, as all the chasers were killed before they could reach the L.E.
Seeran had set up traps around the L.E., using mutaforgian plants and tricks, to capture and kill any Sabers who might try to invade. None of them were in a fighting state, as some of them collapsed on the floor near the L.E., while some were leaning against her gigantic claws, breathing heavily.
How do they return with such little injuries from the battles, wondered Skyhawk, but he was distracted by Joeret soon after who held his face and pulled him in for a kiss.
"We did it! We retrieved Cree!" she said happily which was answered by a smile and a nod by Paul and a few tired attempts of saying 'Hurrah!' by those who were standing.
Despite the others being tired and bruised, Skyhawk didn't have a scratch on his body nor did he seem tired. His immortality had healed all his wounds and granted him unlimited stamina. As he looked upon the cold body of his dear friend, Creator, a thought passed his mind which made him rather sad.
I will lose the immortality , he thought, but quickly shoved the thought away. Creator, the blue and black giant, was the only friend he had since...
Beads of tears formed on the corner of his eyes as he sat on his knees beside Creator and placed his arm on his chest, as if trying to feel his heartbeat. "I will bring you back, brother," he said to the body that lay before him.
He stood up and turned around to find Sammel standing behind him. He hadn't noticed how short Sam was compared to him and a peculiar elder-brotherly feeling was born in his mind as he noticed the difference in their heights more closely.
Sammel coughed, as though noticing the distracted look of Skyhawk and said, "I have a request."
Skyhawk gave a puzzled yet intrigued look, which silently conveyed the message 'Go on.'
"Well... er.. I heard so much about Creator here and er... heard how you got your immortality from him. I had been thinking.. that.. er.... the immortality must be due to some biological difference and.. er..," said Sammel hesitantly.
He looked at Skyhawk for a while before looking at the ground and shook his head.
"Maybe now is not the right time. You are tired and it would be very inconsiderate to ask this. Perhaps tomorrow.. yes, indeed.. tomorrow sounds right," he muttered, his eyes still fixed on the ground.
He looked at Skyhawk and found him smiling kindly. He replied with a smile, before walking into the L.E.
Skyhawk stood looking at the sun, which had begun setting, slow yet noticeable. He kept staring at the scarlet sun, deep in thought. He had been drowned in thought and happiness of seeing his friend again so deeply, that he didn't notice when his head hit the ground with a loud thud and he fell asleep.
Paul stood in a dark room. He couldn't see his body but he could feel that he was naked. The feeling of existing didn't feel very familiar to him, as if he were in a different body; a body much bigger than his own.
The dark was extremely dark, darker than any room he had been in before. It was as if light had never touched this room and everywhere he saw, he could only see darkness.
"Where am I? " he muttered under his breath. His voice was different; deeper and familiar. He could tell that he had heard this voice very often but he couldn't recognize it.
