The Mystery Girl ❤

A SanDhir Os

"Good Evening Chandigarh. Ki haal chal sohneyo ? Acha hi hoga. Mausam jo itna acha hai janaab. Aasmaan mein baadal, fiza mein thandak. Aur aise mein agar koi aisa saath ho jo bahut hi khaas toh kya baat hai.

Toh chaliye isi suhaane mausam mein main yaani RJ Sanaya karti hu aapka welcome. Aur bnate hain is mausam ko thoda sa khaas is pyaar se song ke saath " Voice from car's stereo hit his eardrums.

Randhir was driving on the beautiful and green roads of Chandigarh. Rain washed away all the dirt from the sky. Trees were looking green than ever.

He was coming back from his office. It was a hell tiring day. Right now he needed some freshness. Some food for his soul and his heart. To recharge himself and his soul.

And the only place where he could get his much needed peace and solace was SUKHNA LAKE. The place which make you feel every emotion from its deepest. The place which is dangerously calm even when there are hundreds of people around you there. A place where the only thing you will feel is peace and calmness. A place where the souls meet.

He parked his car in the Garden of Silence, supposedly the last point of Sukhna lake. The main point of Sukhna lake is for people who just came here for sight seeing and for boating. The last point was for the people who wanted food for their souls, their hearts, who wanted peace and solace. It was distance of around 5.5 km between main and the last point.

After parking his car, he climbed up the stairs and the moment he climbed the last step , he spreaded his arms and closed his eyes after seeing the scene in front of him.

Rain had stopped but the place was wet. Water was calm. People were roaming here and there and he looked at the people.

He walked there on the pathway along the lake for one or two minutes and then climbed down to sit at the bank of the lake.

He looked at the water in the lake and smiled. He didn't know why he smiled but he just did. Cool wind blowed his already messy hair and he finger combed them.

It felt like his all day long tiredness vanished away just like that. Thid was the best thing about this place. It has some kind of magic.

He was sitting there and thinking just then the clouds roared and moment later it started raining.

And according to the people Sukhna Lake is at its best when it rains. Randhir couldn't miss this chance. For one moment it came into his mind that he will be drenched in rain but not every day you get to enjoy this.

He heard a whistle and he turned around to look at the source of voice. He saw a guard asking him to come up from the place where it was sitting. It wasn't safe to sit at the bank of lake when it was raining badly. He showed him his hand and then stood up.

But he didn't leave the place, he couldn't. Something was making him stay here. Something was asking him to be here.

He came up and took seat on the platform which was between Pathway along the lake and the lake. From this platform, it had slant place made of stones and then the lake.

He was sitting there looking at the lake whose surface was dancing on the beats of raindrops. He closed his eyes to feel it. To feel the rain. To feel the DISTURBED CALMNESS. To feel the NOISY PEACE.

And then when he was drowned in himself, he heard something. A voice, to be precise a giggling voice which belonged to a girl. Not that he recognized the voice or the person to whom it belonged but there was something about that voice.

He turned around to look for the owner of  that melodious giggling sound and noticed a girl dancing in the rain with kids. Her hair were open and were covering her face.

Randhir tried to look more closely and noticed that the kids were slum kids.

He smiled when he saw that girl dancing and giggling  carelessly with those kids. It was still raining and there was no sign that it will stop anytime soon.

Randhir was still looking at them. Something was there because of which he couldn't look away from the sight in front of him.

And then he saw girl's  hands approaching towards her face. She slowly tucked her hair behind with a clutcher and that was when Randhir's eyes widened. He couldn't believe what he was watching. He couldn't believe it was really SHE in front of him.

Sanyukta Aggarwal. The most silent and introvert girl of his college time.

It took him back to his  college days when he hardly saw Sanyukta talking and smiling with anyone. They were in the same class. Randhir knew her but just by her name. He was a studious student who was dangerously active in other activities like fests, elections and project works too.

He attended very less classes in his college life and hence didn't know much about this girl, Sanyukta who was a geek. She was an average student who used to drown herself in her books everytime.

He saw her few times in the library. There was something very mysterious about this girl. Not that Randhir wanted to know it badly but the thought used to cross his mind whenever he used to look at her.

College ended and all became busy in their lives. After that day Sanyukta never crossed Randhir's mind because she wasn't the kind of girl about whom people will remember.

But today, Randhir didn't know how he recognized her after all these years. It was almost 5 years since there college had ended. They never met after that. Not even her thought crossed his mind but one look at her face and he knew it was her.

And believe me it feels great to meet someone from your batch after 5 Years. Even if the person wasn't well acquainted to you at that time.

There has to be something about this girl who was dancing in front of him carelessly. The girl who never even smiled. At least not in front of him.

SHE NEVER CAPTURED HIS IMAGINATION, UNTIL THE RAIN WASHED AWAY HER MAKE UP.

The make up which she was wearing in their college life. Not materialistic make up but the facade which she had. The make up of introvert and silent girl.

Her present and past demeanor was totally contradictory to each other. There was more to what he saw in their college time.

He again heard giggling voice of her and his trance broke. He looked at the lake and then smiled.

He loved to solve the mysteries and she was the most beautiful mystery he was willing to solve.

He finger combed his hair and stood up.

"Chal beta Randhir " He said to himself and felt his stomach churning.

Then he turned around and approached her.
