Blues POV

This seems to be happening at an alarming rate, I seem to be missing the other half of the day, everyday because of the ripple effect the boys had. Not that I mind but I dread when my mum finds out. But I can't think of such things right now. What I need now are answers, and a lot of them, it seems.

As I stare at her I can't help but think that I really don't seem to know a lot. As we pass through the woods that are so familiar to me I realize that she is taking me to my hideout, again. With the sun high and mighty in the sky, we sit down and she looks down looking nervous and awkward.

"Come on Beth," I say exasperated with not knowing what this is about, "whatever this is I'm still going to be your friend, nothing will change that."

She takes a big breath and starts to talk, quietly at first but as she gains confidence she's louder and more sure of herself, "I could always see the ghosts you do too, but for a different reason than you. I was always told that I can't tell anyone or bad things will happen but with what is happening I have to tell you. You have o know that I'm on your side and that you have my support. I can see them because I am of that world as well," I feel my eyes go wide and she laughs at me, "No, I'm not a ghost but I'm not human either."

"I'm a shifter. A wolf shifter."

Silence. The only sounds that could be heard is the birds and trees rustling slightly in the summer breeze. I don't know what to say. She kept this whole big part away from me while I always told her everything. Every single thing.

After a too long pause she carries on, less confident now, "there is going to be a war, everyone feels it. The pressure is on and somehow you got mixed into this." Again that uncomfortable silence until I finally say, very simply, "Prove it." Even though I believe her, considering all the crazy shit that has happened to me, I would believe anything she says, I trust her.

Slowly she stands up and moves into the clearing, she looks at me with worry and love but I can only manage a small smile, waiting for her to show her wolf. The cracking of bones echos throughout the woods and birds fly away in panic but I can only watch as my best friend disappears and a wolf takes her place.

A magnificent wolf, so dark and sleek. Slight like her, with her knowing eyes. She takes my breath away, she's just beautiful. She approaches me hesitantly, probably worried because of my reaction, I have been sitting here without moving for quite some time. I jump out and hug her, I don't care about any changes that may arise, she is my friend and nothing will ever change that.

So what if she changes some, I will change some too. Everyone has secrets and I can only feel privileged that she told me hers. One thing that will be a constant while the whole world changes will be our friendship. Yes we will have ups and downs, we already had some, but I know with the whole of me that she has my back and I will always have hers.

Without warning she turns back into herself and we are hugging and laughing, and there may be some tears for no reason whatsoever.
"You're my best friend," I whisper into her ear, "nothing will ever change that." I can feel her smile as she hugs me even tighter.

Suddenly she is laughing hysterically and I can't help but laugh along with her, "We didn't really do what he told us to do, did we?"

"Who cares. I'm just glad I have you."

Ring. Ring. Ring.

We stare at each other with surprise as I get my phone out and press the button.

"You will get home this instant, young lady, you are in deep shit now."
