---Time skip to the next day, before school---
Shit, shit, shit! I knew it was a bad idea to read till 4 am, I swear. But it somehow happened and now I'm going to be late for school. As I was rushing, running around the house like a headless chicken, Lu kept meowing at me but I ignored her as I couldn't find my glasses.
Meow!
"I swear to god, kitty. I don't have time for this. What?" I ask as I turn to watch her sitting like a princess on my bed. What I see next stops my heart for a second.
"Well, well what do we have here?" Beth asks, her short blond hair shining where the sun hits it and her green eyes, so much like mine, covered by designer shades. She looks like a angel on the dark side with her band t-shirts and ripped jeans. (inspired by taelienforlife). I see my kitty lying on her legs where she sits on my bed, seriously Lu is such a traitor.
"Taking to yourself?" she questions mockingly with the smirk I both love and hate. I've known her for such a long time I can't imagine my world without her. I know I said I have no normal friends but she is the exception, she doesn't mind me being weird and I don't mind her being herself."How did you get in the house?" I question, baffled on how she is here.
"Your mum let me in on her way out," she smirks before continuing, "anyway I haven't seem much of you for the last few days and I've been worried." Oops that may be true, I have a bad habit of forgetting important things like my best friend, my only friend. Before I can think better of it I start to tell her everything that happened for the last few days, all the weird shit with the three boys and the disappearing of my shadow family and to get her to understand I tell her about the dark shadow from the past. We totally forget that there is school to get ready for and lives that we need to live, for a moment we are just a pair of friends discussing gossip, although in this case it is much more serious than who kissed who.
When I finish there is a silence, it's not awkward she just needs to process everything I've said.
"Well you've been busy." she finally exclaims, while laughing at me and soon I join in, you can't help but laugh when she's laughing.
With a gasp I remember school and waking up late and I playfully glare at her, "We're going to be late because of you."
"I seem to remember that you did most of the talking." she answers.
"This kid." I mutter as I dash off to find the other things I need for school. Her giggles can be heard from my room as she lies back down and strokes Lu.
---Time skip to lunch, library---
"As I was telling you, they are trouble so stay away." I whispered as soon as I saw the trio of boys. Beth nods but I can tell she isn't listening, just staring at them like why is everyone so interested in them? But her eyes hold a hurt and secrets that speak of a past. I shake her shoulders until she looks at me, "Stay away from them." I hiss at her.
As I dreaded they made their way towards us and even through all the books I could see their smirks, this spelled trouble that I could not be asked for today.
"Hi, Blue. Hi, Blues friend." The oldest one says, Cain, sitting down opposite us while his brothers sit on either side of him, Charlie and Chip.
"What do you want?" I ask, not bothering to mask my unpleasant tone. He puts his hands up in a mock surrender and answers, "I realize that we may have gotten off on the wrong foot s-"
"May?! May have gotten off the wrong foot?! So threatening my family and planning to kill them is the wrong foot then, good to know." I cut him off with my most sarcastic voice, anger making my voice dark and forceful. Beth looks from one to the other with clear interest in her eyes and I wish she didn't live for drama as much. But her eyes hold an anger when she looks at Cain. There's more here than she ever told me, and I will find out.At least he has the decadency to look uncomfortable but I'm not going to let him off the hook that easily, or not all all.
"If you let me finish," He mutters, clearly exasperated, "We came here to tell you that we won't hunt your family, now or ever." I blush, what am I meant to say to that?
"Um thanks." I mutter while looking down.
Cains POV
The girl was adorable was all I could think as I sat down opposite her. As I start to explain, my mind goes back to the conversation we had with our father.
---Flashback to yesterday late---
"Why would you give us the wrong information?" I demand as soon as I see my father, who is named Adam. He's looking older and older by the day, much more than his 40 suggest, the life of the hunter is a hard one but so worth it in the end, even when there are loses... like my mother who was killed by 2 blood thirsty vampire monsters. I know that he would not get wrong information, him being the one in charge and all. I see him back away, and I can't blame him, the three of us when mad are a sight to behold but I have no time for that. I need answers.
"Son, if you just calm down. I really thought Blue was a ghost, my spies got confused because she never socializes with anyone except that other girl but she's a werewolf and as you well know they can see the dead." My father explains, ugh werewolfs were such basic and vile creatures, so far beneath us.
"Okay, so what are we to do now? That girl, Blue, she made it very clear she will fight us if we try to kill those ghosts she calls 'family' and that werewolf chick will undoubtedly join in the fight to protect her friend." I explain, frustrated with the turn of event, I just waned an easy job and relax a bit.
"We leave them alone but keep an eye out for them." He says while turning around and walking back to his study.
---End of Flashback---
I can clearly see that she mistrusts us, no that I blame her, we were sent to kill her.
"So what do you say, start again?" I ask while putting on my winning smile, but she seems not to be affected by it. The one girl I want to impress and she doesn't fall for it, go figure. The werewolf girl is not anymore impressed than her friend and I can see that she know that I know.
"Wolf girl, convince your friend we're not that bad." I look down at her and something about her seems familiar but I can't place what. She snarls at us all and grabs Blues hand dragging her behind her as they exit the library.
