“Riley, get up.” Something hard shoved me, and I tried to groan.
“Derek,” I tried to ask my throat hurt so much, I didn’t want to open my eyes. My entire body ached like I’d done too much shifting, I tried to lift a hand but nothing happened.
“Get up,” something roughly gripped my arm and yanked off where ever I was lying and up onto my feet. I crumbled to the ground almost immediately; i cried out and my eyes leaped open.
I faintly saw Samuel and the one with sapphire eyes, standing over me. “Just let me handle her, William.” William huffed and stormed away quicker than my eyes could follow. Samuel bent down toward me; I gave a scream, scooting away from him, terrified.
“Be quiet,” he growled and slapped a hand over my mouth pulling me up and out of the room, he led me down a bunch of twisting halls and rooms. Everything was so furnished beautifully and with style. I saw gigantic TVs, silk clothing, rich colors bursting from rooms. But the weather outside was dreary and wet; it looked like it had been constantly raining. And the few people we passed looked at me like I was dinner, but I shouldn’t have been surprised since they were vampires.
“Where are we going?” I asked prying his hand off my mouth.
“To see Sebastian,” he muttered leading me to a door, and knocking on it timidly. A face appeared in the doorway, my jaw unhinged and did a skydive toward the floor. He was gorgeous, he had sparkling emerald eyes like the other one, and he had long curly brown hair.
“What did you do, Samuel?” He asked his eyes widening as I whimpered. “Let go of her arm she’s not going anywhere,” Samuel immediately dropped my arm and rubbed it, feeling like crying. Samuel gave me a rough shove; I stumbled forward into the room.
“God, can’t you walk stupid.” He asked snorting.
I didn’t bother to reply only slid into the farthest corner of the room; I wrapped my arms around myself shaking. I longed for Sean to be beside me, that thought drew tears to flood my eyes, and one flash down my face, I wiped it off sniffing.
“So she’s a shape shifter,” I looked up at the sound of Sebastian’s gentle voice. He looked toward me and I instantly went from a timid girl to a full blown roaring polar bear. I reared up so I towered above Samuel, and gave a swipe my sharp claws shredding his shirt and back, I roared in Sebastian’s face showing him my teeth. He stepped forward to grab my tiny ear and pull me to all fours. I looked at him thoroughly stunned, but I sank my teeth into his wrist, and then he twisted my ear. I opened my jaws giving a huge cry of pain, and when I went back to human form he tackled me, holding me to the ground with no effort at all.
“Please, please, just let me go, I won’t tell anyone your vampires.” I said on the verge of tears my heart racing, “I swear.”
“That’s not what we care about, Riley.” He said his voice hard but his gleaming emerald eyes gentle. He jumped off me and sat me down on a chair, I curled into a ball. “Are their others with you?” He asked stopping in front of me.
I gulped and said waveringly, “Sean,” his name sent tendrils of pain around me.
“Where is he?” Sebastian asked his eyes piercing.
“He, he’s…” I couldn’t say it; I was shaking to hard my mind flashing to his face then his dead body.
“Where is he?” Sebastian said more forcefully.
