I shoved the dead messenger off me and got up wiping off my mouth with the back of my hand. I licked my lips getting the last traces of blood before walking back toward the Manor. I was dressed regally in a tight black dress that went to my ankles. My gold hair spilled down my back to my waist and my sapphire eyes warily watched the forest around me. I was nineteen now two years since Sean died, two years since I became a vampire, two years since I flipped the switch.
“Who’s going to clean him up?” Jaguar materialized beside me even after all these years he still hadn’t give up on me.
“Here to give me another lecture about changing my ways?” I asked slyly my eyes narrowed.
“Well a guy can hope.” Jaguar answered casually and I rolled my eyes and walked right past him.
“Well that’s all you can do, hope.” I sneered and he grabbed my arm, I twisted out his grasp with a snarl and locked his arm behind his back. “Nice try.”
“Riley let me help you.” He hissed through his teeth and I released him stepping back my dress swishing with the movement.
“I don’t need help, plain and simple.” My voice held no emotion and I began walking toward the Manor again.
“At least let me show you our guests.” Jaguar insisted and I looked back at him seeing he hasn’t changed all these years. Warm bronze skin, black hair down to his back, no shirt, and whip coiled at his side, and dead black eyes.
“Who are they? Or better yet what are they?” I asked as storm clouds gathered above the mansion.
“Queen Loretta and King Jared accompanied by their son and daughter Jeremy and Holly.” Jaguar said and I sensed he was avoiding something. I whirled slamming him against a tree opening my mouth to show him the jaguar teeth that replaced my fangs.
“What are they?” I snapped in his face and he shoved me off, I returned my teeth to normal and assumed a tranquil expression.
“Werewolves,” he spat angrily. “Werewolves are visiting the Manor.” I stepped back in surprise before assuming the shape of a massive wolf, I turned my eyes on Jaguar before running swiftly on four legs to the Manor to get ready for the dinner.
I stood in front of the mirror adding the last touches to my makeup, a tight floor length dark blue gown. It was very simple design a tight bodice and laced up back. My golden hair was brushed so it tumbled down my back in enviable golden waves; in randomly littered in it were sapphires. My pale skin was flawless and my eyes cold sapphire that was just barely lighter than gems in my hair, I needed more color so my lips were painted a ruby red. Dark black lines curved away from eyes coming up in a curl that ended quickly.
I walked out of my dark room and into the hall filled with other vampires emerging from their rooms. I stepped sideways to avoid a couple walking arm in arm to the dining hall. I looked down at the note in my hand, the actual meeting will not be held with the others. Met us in the Siler Hall- Jaguar. I sighed Jaguar’s writing was barely intelligible I navigated my way through the narrow halls were the others room were until I stopped by a silver cabinet. I waited patiently till the halls were cleared and then pulled out the bottom door picking up a silver knife from the set before stepping into the door in the side hall.
I emerged in a hall decorated completely in silver, in the center stood couches in a direct square and a huge flickering fireplace. I caught my breath painfully my chest heaving and I held my breath. Memories swirled up in me.
“Her name is Riley,” he said carefully. “Samuel found her late last night when he was out hunting with Joel,” while he was talking I noticed the sapphire eyed vampire that I had attacked. He stood and moved toward me, I growled warningly raising one paw, my claws unsheathed. “Riley,” Sebastian said sharply, I glanced over at him and saw him give me a calming look; I lowered the paw and slunk over to him sitting behind him.
