“Can I please just go home,” I whined feeling cranky as Samuel, William, and Sebastian stood in my temporary room.

“No,” Samuel said when at the same time, William shook his head.

                “Sorry,” Sebastian said.

“You should be,” I snapped. It had been three days since they grabbed from my room, I was going crazy. Missing my friends, missing Derek and worst of all I missed Sean’s funeral. I cast my mind back to the day I told them I had to go back for his funeral.

“I have to go back, its Sean’s funeral!” I yelled at Samuel my eyes flaring with true rage.

“You are not going back; I don’t care if it’s his damn funeral, Riley.” He said calmly while watching the rain.

“Well I do!” I shouted at him shoving him as hard as I could.

“Too bad,” he said then walked out shutting my door behind him.

I dropped onto my bed, feeling hysterical, it was bad enough I lost him, but now I couldn’t even go to his funeral. My door opened and Sebastian peeked in, his emerald eyes cautious.  “Hey,” he said shutting the door behind him.

“I need to go home for Sean’s funeral, I’ll even come back, please, Sebastian.” Id dropped my head in my heads but looked up begging him.

“I’m sorry, Riley, no.” His voice was firm and I knew there was no arguing but I tried anyway.

“Please,” I dropped down onto my knees, my hands clasped at my throat my eyes swimming with unshed tears.

“I’m sorry,” he mumbled avoiding my eyes. I got up, feeling anger and hate sweep through me; I glared at him staring straight into his emerald eyes.

“I hate you!” I screamed at him, feeling my throat close up and a burning feeling in my eyes. I ran out of my room, going down the hall running like I could escape somehow. But I wasn’t that stupid I knew that there was absolutely no escaping from here.

“Riley?” I soft voice jerked me from my memories. I turned to see Sebastian’s hesitant face; he stood shyly by the door his gaze downcast.

“Yes?” I asked looking down to, then stuck my chin out and sat on my bed and patted the space beside me. He moved to sit beside me, and still with a shy look on his face smiled.

“I was supposed to tell you dinners ready.” He mumbled.

“I’m not that hungry but thanks,” I said and he started toward the door. “Wait,” I blurted and almost chickened out. “Look I didn’t mean what I said yesterday, about hating you,” I swallowed. “I actually like you; you’re nice and easy to talk to...” I snapped my mouth shut before he started to think I had a crush on him. “I mean I don’t mean like, like that, friend like not like, like. I mean it’s not like you’re not cute, your actually really handsome, and I should just stop talking,” I said helplessly blushing fiercely.

He tossed back his head to laugh, “Its fine,” He said with a soft smile. “There’s a storm tonight, and we all know you’re scared, last night your heart rate really started to climb, I’ll come when it starts.” He gave another beautiful laugh and smile before walking out.

“Thanks,” I murmured and sat back on my bed, sighing.

I gave another scream, burrowing closer to Sebastian shaking in fear. Night had fallen hours ago and I should have been asleep by now, but the storms here seemed to be more strong more ferocious than back home. They were fiercer, the wind and rain stronger, the lightning brighter, the thunder louder. Another boom of thunder rang out and I bit my hand to stop from screaming again. More than ever I longed to be home, away from these storms and strangers. My throat closed up how bad I longed for Sean to be here, he understood and he always cuddled with me during storms or if he couldn’t he called.

“Shh, Riley, it’s just a storm.” I looked up at Aubrey’s gentle voice. Her heart shaped face was soft, and she was sitting on my bed, smiling at me reassuringly.

“I know, but it just so...” I didn’t get to finish my sentence before I duck behind them away from the windows as a flash of lightning lit up the room. “Scary,” I whispered.

“Riley, calm down you is going to have a heart attack.” Sebastian murmured.

“I can’t help it,” I cried diving under my blankets and huddling under them.

“Sebastian, maybe you could…” Aubrey let her voice trail off then gathered her skirts. “I need to be going,” with that she swept out of the room shutting the door carefully.

“Maybe you could what?” I asked cautiously.

“I could lull you to sleep it’s not that hard,” he said simply.

“How?” I asked and despite myself sat up curiously.

“My mind control is strong enough, I can just touch your mind thinking of sleep then, voila, you’re asleep.” He smiled his emerald eyes dancing.

“Do it,” I said simply, curling myself into a ball under the blankets, resting my head on my pillow.

“Shut your eyes,” he whispered leaning down so his lips brushed my ears, I fought back a shiver and did as he instructed. I felt his thumb stroking my cheek, again and again, and him murmuring nonsense. I gave the tiniest shiver as I felt a probing in my mind, then a rush of feeling like serenity the feeling of being safe someone watching over me. The next time thunder came, I didn’t flinch, and the lightning didn’t matter. Gradually, the feeling of Sebastian caressing my cheek was lost in my slumber.
