Emily yawned, her eyes sticking together. Her heart sunk as she realized that she had slept through the night when sleepy sun warmed her face.

"Dick? Are you awake?" She sat up and looked around the break room. He was nowhere to be seen.

Emily didn't panic immediately, she assumed one of her coworkers had kindly ussured him out and left her to sleep.

"Hey, where is Dick?" She pulled her hair back at the nape of her neck.

The Lieutenant handed her a steaming mug of coffee and she accepted it with a thanks. "He was on your shift last right? I havent't seen him since. Maybe you should ask the Captain?"

Emily rubbed her eyes again. The caffienne wasn't setteling her nerves like it usually did. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

"Something wrong Walker?"

"Commissioner!" Emily looked up from her cup of Joe. "I-I didn't know you were coming in today."

"I thought I'd swing by. One of my friends was concerned with the Grayson case."

She raised an eyebrow. "We all know about your 'friend', Commissioner. I was just about to ask the Captain about that actually. I think someone moved the survivor while I was sleeping to CPS or something. Want to come with me?"

"Sure. I would love to see the Captain again. It's been a while."

"What do you mean he is gone?!" Anne Walker, CPS, demanded.

"He just is. And he didn't walk out on his own either." Commissioner Gordon frowned. "We went to the security feed and it was expertly cut and looped."

"What does the DA office say?" The Captain sighed.

"I don't know! Whatever it is, its my fault!" Emily outburst. "I just let someone come in take a ten year old straight out of our precinct!" She screamed.

"Detective!" The Captain stood, furrowing his brow. "Stand down!"

"Sorry-I'm sorry, I just-oh god, its all my fault." Emily fell dejected into her seat.

Anne rubbed her back. "We're going to get him back, Em. Commissioner Gordon, can you talk to the Batman?"

"I already did. He is on the case, there is nothing else we can do. Dick's case is in the best hands possible."

"Agent Walker, you will inform CPS of course, but Detective, this case might be too close to you to pursue."

Anne nodded but Emily frowned. "Captain, I object. I would like to continue this case."

"No, Detective Walker. I am removing you, and that is an order. I expect you will respect proper authority?"

"Of course sir." Emily's frown didn't fall from her face. "Jesus, I told him everything would be fine, and now he's God knows where after being taken by some sort of creep. Maybe he was right, someone was after his family and they decided to finish the job-"

"Agent Walker, take your sister home. She has the day off."

Anne nodded again. "Come on Em, lets go."

"Master Bruce, how is the Grayson case progressing?"

"Fine Alfred." The billionaire snapped.

"I assume by your attitude that you haven't found a new lead."

"Oh no, I have." He snarled. "I found out who took him."

"That is excellent Master Bruce!"

"No! It isn't! He's been taken by Deathstroke." At the utterance of his name, the air seemed to drop in temperature.

"Deathstroke." Alfred stepped over to his computer. "Do you know where he is?"

"Of course I do, and I have known his location for the last few years and decided now to go after him- NO I DON'T KNOW WHERE HE IS!!" Bruce screamed. "I saw his parents die, and I didn't do anything. A young helpless boy is probably dead by now because I didn't kill Deathstroke two years ago!"

"Master Bruce, if this is your fault because you didn't break your rule-"

"But it is!" Bruce slammed his fist down on the desk. "There's nothing else we can do for him, Dick Grayson is dead."

"So your just going to give up?!" Alfred demanded.

"I just don't know what to do..." He said defeated.

Alfred sighed. "Master Wayne. That boy could be out there alive, and he wants to be rescued. I need you to do everything you can to help him."
