Chapter 9: King and Lionheart
{Rose}
I wake up to the sound of a pan sizzling. I sit up and see Kaz standing over the stove with an apron on. I walk over to the counter and sit on it. "Good morning Kaz." I say with a smile and he turns around to look at me. He's wearing a 'Kiss the Cook' apron and I burst into a fit of laughter. "What's so funny?" He asks and I point to his apron and I continue to laugh. He follows my gaze and blushes as he looks at his apron. "You weren't supposed to see this." He says and I stop laughing. "No it looks...cute on you." I say and he rolls his eyes and hands me a plate of pancakes. "Eat up. When you're done, get dressed and I'll take you to work with me." Kaz says and I nod my head before I dig in.After I finish my pancakes, I go to my apartment and wake up Tris. "Tris lets go!" I say before I jump in the shower. I walk out of the apartment in black dress pants and a navy blue button up shirt. Tris walks out in a black pencil skirt with a red shirt. "We look good." I say and she nods. Kaz walks out and looks at us with a smile. "Are you girls ready to go?" He asks and we nod our heads before we follow him to the car, and drive to work.
"Rose, can I get a coffee with a shot of milk and two sugar cubes?" Someone asks and I nod my head. "Sure! I'll be right back!" I yell and walk to the employee lounge, and make the coffee. I finish and turn around to leave the room and bump into Kaz. Hot coffee spills on the both of us, and he looks down as the cup falls to the floor. "I'm so sorry!" I say but he shakes his head. "It's okay. I know that you didn't mean to." He says and we both reach down to pick up the cup. As we were coming back up Kaz kisses me on the lips.
