Optimus allowed the human to sleep as he drive around the outskirts of the city. Her question left his mind spinning. Had he put this human into more danger then she was originally in? What now? The Decepticons would quickly figure out that she was indeed part of team Prime, and that he was now her guardian. Meaning she could become a very quick target, and with Megatron starting to become at large it would put her at a even greater risk. But now that she was part of their world he couldn't just stop protecting her. Optimus found his spark tug with guilt. What had he gotten her into? She could be killed or worse. His thoughts were cut short when Amber shifted in her sleep. Maybe it was best That he take her back to base. After all he could allow them two to bond better when she was awake. So it was settled he would wait.
Amber yawned as she stretched. Laying on her back she looked up to a bland grey ceiling, sitting up she noticed the area quickly; the Autobot Base. Amber noticed Ratchet first and walked over to him.
"Ratchet?"
"Mhm?" he never took his optics off His work.
"Where is Optimus?" she rested her arms on the guard rail.
"He should return momentarily." he glanced at her before returning to his work.
"If you dont mind me asking, but what are you doing?" she looked at his tool which was busy wielding away at a piece of metal.
"I'm currently trying to repair part of the ground bridge." he paused for a moment before continuing his work.
"Do you mind if I watch?"
"Just don't touch anything"
She nodded and sat down, and carefully watched the medic work.
It wasn't long before a familiar blue and red semi drive into the base. Amber quickly stood as Optimus transformed.
"Hey" she smiled and waved.
"Hello Amber" the Prime nodded at her.
She waited patiently for the Prime to finish talking with Ratchet to speak. When he finished she looked up at him.
"So what's the plan for today?"
"I will be showing one the small Energon deposits that we have here on earth"
"Oh cool" she smiled.
Amber walked beside Optimus through the already opened ground bridge. Stepping on the other side of the ground bridge to a large mouth of a dark cave. She took her phone out of her back pocket and turned on her flashlight which only illuminated a few inches in front of her. While Optimus had a better source of light; his headlights, which lit up almost 100 feet easily in front of them.
"Optimus? Why did you leave your home planet?" Amber began to walk into the cave.
It wasn't a question the Prime expect, and he stood still for a moment before following in after her.
"With centuries of war and corruption it killed Cybertron. Making it uninhabitable to live on. "
"So your planet was poisoned?" Amber glanced up at him.
"Yes" he nodded at her.
It was silent for a moment before Amber noticed something shine in the light.
"What is that?" she walked over to the small shard in the cave wall.
"Energon" Optimus kneeled down to give her a better lighting as she pulled the shard out that was no bigger than her finger.
"Its beautiful." She let it glow in the light.
"You may keep it if you like"
"Really?" she looked up at him and he nodded.
Smiling she put the shard in her pocket.
"Thank you Optimus"
They both walked to the end of the cave. Before turning around, and heading back.
"What's that light?" Amber watched as whatever was lighting up the other side of the cave was walking closer and closer.
"Amber, hide now" Optimus ordered.
Frantically looking around she couldn't find anywhere. The rock around her was smooth and nothing around her was big enough to hide her.
"I can't" she watched from behind the Prime's leg as a large robot walked towards them. Wearing the same little symbol that the red car wore.
"Optimus. Strange to find you in a Decepticon mine."
"This mine doesn't belong to the Decepticons, Megatron" Optimus clentched his hands.
Amber stood well behind Optimus, before sneaking one more peek at the Decepticon responsible for starting the war on Cybertron. The con didn't seem to notice her, until his optics landed dead on her and she felt her heart sink to her stomach as she gasped. Megatron looked between both her and Optimus before a huge grin formed on his face and he started laughing.
"Optimus Prime, I knew of your little pets but of this one? She is your actual pet" he gave a sickening smile a the Prime.
"Megatron leave the human out of this, and let us pass through"
Megatron's grin faded into a frown.
"Lets see how long your pet sticks around" a sword slid out of his arm, Before he charged Optimus.
"Amber run!" Optimus ordered.
