I was sitting in the passenger seat of Chris's black Dodge. We were on the way to my best friend's, Macy, house. She had a baby horse she wanted me to meet. Chris grabbed my hand and looked at me.
"Hey! Eyes on the road, mister!" I joked. He giggled.
"No matter how cute the horse is, no matter how much Macy tries to talk you into taking it, do not do it." He said. I had two horses and we were too busy to take in another one, or so he says.
"Okay." I mumbled.
"Madison." He said, trying to get my attention.
"Okay," I said a little louder, laughing.
"Mad, baby," he said with his eyebrows furrowed.
"I won't take the baby," I replied, kissing his cheek. We pulled into Macy's driveway, where she was waiting with us. She had her blonde hair down with a Chevy hat.
"Hey, guys!" She greeted, giving us a hug. The baby horse ran up and nudged my arm. It was a black and white little stud.
"He's so cute! What's his name?" I asked.
"He doesn't have one, I was gonna let you name him, seeing how he's yours," she said. I smirked and looked at Chris. His eyes got wide and he started shaking his head.
"Oh no, what did we talk about!" He said, pointing at the colt.
"Oh come on! Babe!" I begged. I was a sucker for baby animals.
"No!" He scolded, folding his arms. Macy was laughing at us arguing, knowing I was gonna win.
"We have two, we need three. It'll be the three musketeers!" I exclaimed.
"Do you know how much it is to geld that thing?" He asked. I arched an eyebrow.
"Hun, I grew up with horses. Yes, I do. I've had plenty of horses gelded. This ain't my first rodeo!" I raised my voice.
"Then you gotta train him. We aren't home enough to train him."
"I'll help!" Macy chipped in, instantly earning a glare from Chris. I stepped forward and pecked his lips.
"The answer is no." So I kissed his neck.
"Sorry, maddie baby," he tried using the nickname he gave me. I put my hands on his waistband and kissed him, giving him a look. He looked at the colt and then back at me.
"Well, he is kinda cute." I squealed and jumped up and down, then into his arms, kissing him all over. The colt whinnied and shook his head.
"Thank you, babe!" Macy hugged Chris too and helped load the colt up and bring him home. He'll settle in just nicely. There's no rule against an author writing a preference for herself, right?😂I hope not, I just got a little bored and decided to write one. Hope y'all like it!😘thank you!
