I laid down on the bed with Chris, it had been a long day with our daughter, she didn't wanna slow down.
"Finally some rest." I giggled. Just as I said that I heard crying over the baby monitor. I groaned and looked up.
"I got it, Heaven." Chris said, kissing my forehead. I decided to go with him. Chris picked up Faith and started bouncing her, trying to get her to calm down.
"She looks freaked out about something." Chris said. I got worried. Faith wouldn't tell us anything. The last case we did I was feeling funny. Like something came home with me. What if it's trying to get my daughter? I decided to wait it out until I could prove to myself that I wasn't crazy.
"Maybe she should sleep with us tonight?" I suggested. Chris nodded and carried her to our room, we put her in the middle so she wouldn't roll off the bed.
"You okay, baby girl?" I asked. She nodded.
"Yes, mommy." She snuggled to Chris since she's a daddy's girl. It was cute.
The next morning Chris went out to breakfast with Brannon while I stayed home with Faith.
"Hey, sweetie." I said, she was playing with playdoh.
"Yes, mommy?" She asked, smiling at me with brown eyes.
"Why were you crying last night?" I asked. No prepared for the answer.
"There was a man in my room, standing in the corner. He was staring at me."
"Did he try to hurt you?" I asked.
"He doesn't want me to talk about it a whole lot. He said he would hurt one of us if he did." She said, going back to playing. Tears formed in my eyes. My baby was scared. I grabbed my phone and ran to the bedroom. I called Chris.
     "Hello?" He said.
"Chris! You gotta come home, now!" I said, trying to keep calm.
"What's wrong? Are you crying?" He sounded worried.
     "Just come home!" I yelled.
"Okay, I'm on my way, I love you." I went back to the living room to see my daughter wasn't there.
"Faith?" I called. I walked to the kitchen and my glass slid off the table and fell. I screamed as the glass shattered.
"Mommy? Are you okay?" Faith asked. I turned around and I tackled her in a hug.
"Where were you, sweetheart?" I asked.
"I had to use the bathroom."
"Oh, okay. You go in there while I clean this mess up." I told her.
     "What happened?" She asked.
"Mommy accidentally dropped her glass, it's okay." I told her. She nodded and proceeded into the living room. I cleaned the glass up and when I was done I heard the door swing open.
"Daddy!" Faith cheered. I walked in to see Chris pick Faith up.
"What's up, Heaven? You okay?" He asked.
"Faith, why don't you go play in your room, baby?" She nodded and ran off to her room. I sat Chris down and told him what our daughter told me. He put his hand to his face and kinda sat in shock. He called the boys and they came over with the equipment.
"We're gonna fight this by ourselves?" I asked.
"Of course we are." Chris answered. The night came and we set up in Faith's room. Even though we didn't like it, we had to keep Faith with us.
"I hear you're messing with my daughter and I don't appreciate that." Chris started off. He usually doesn't get defensive with spirits because he knows he can't fight them. He tries to reason with them without getting hurt. "You're scaring her. Then I hear you'll hurt us if she talked to us about it. So do it, hurt one of us. Just not Heaven or Faith." He challenged. I put my hand on his arm.
"Chris." I whispered. He ignored me. He knows better than to challenge the unknown. I heard Doogie cry out in pain. Three claw marks appeared on his arm.
"Not good, not good. That's three marks. He's mocking the trinity!" I yelled. It must be a demon. The smell of rotting meat filled the room.
"Mommy!" Faith screamed. It was scaring her.
"Listen, baby. We are gonna get the bad man out, okay? Stay strong for mommy and daddy." I cooed. She nodded. I took some holy water and made a cross on her forehead.
"You're not welcome here, demon!" I yelled. "Only positive things are welcome. We are children of God!" I called. And just as I said that the cross on Faith's wall above her bed went upside down.
"We gotta find out his God given name." Brannon said. "We gotta do something dangerous to get it."
"We'll tell us!" Chris snapped. Brannon shifted his weight for one foot to the other, clearly nervous.
"We gotta provoke it." He answered. Chris didn't seem bothered, but I was. But, I was also gonna do anything for my daughter.
"C'mon you coward! Do something!" Chris yelled. The back of my leg was burning but I wasn't gonna make myself vulnerable.
"That the best your got? Huh? Show yourself!" I yelled.
     "Hetrius." Porter said.
     "What?" Chris said.
     "That's his God given name."
"Hetrius! We got your name! You know the rules. You're damned to hell!" I yelled. And just like that. The air cleared and was freshened. He was gone. We all hugged and let the tears flow.
     "Thank you, God." I whispered.
