I was laying in bed with Chris. My head on his chest, listening to the sound of his heart beat.
"Do you like it here on the ranch?" I asked. Chris giggled.
"Well, of course I do, babe. I get to play with animals and I get to see the prettiest darn face everyday." He said, rubbing my cheek with his thumb.
"Where's your next case?" I asked next.
"I think Arkansas, there's a haunted hotel there. Arkansas actually has quite a bit of spookies around the state." He said. I laughed. I loved when he said 'spookies.' It was just freaking adorable.
"When are you leaving for the case?"
"You trying to rush me? You gonna throw some wild rave party while I'm gone?" He asked, laughing.
"I'll never tell." I smiled.
"This weekend, are you gonna be lonely?" He asked.
"Nope, I'm gonna invite the girls over to stay with me." I said.
"No boys." He said, jokingly.
"No siree." I said, kissing his chin.
"Alright, I think it's your bed time, goodnight, I love you." He said.
"But, I'm not tired!" I joked, acting like a child.
"Go to bed!" He joked back, giving me a kiss.
"Love you, baby." I said, falling asleep to the sound of his heartbeat.
