The Bullshit I Hate About Wattpad

Ah yes here we are. A rant in formal form... Alright lets get down to it. I fucking hate when one day I just want to look up an 'x-reader' because lets be honest here that's all I ever read on the internet. I decide to read one from Wattpad. I open it, read a bit and then 'OH MY GLOB I CAN'T EVEN!' ...I'm ready for the sweet release of death. All these god damn pre-teen girls (and boys but I have yet to come across one by a guy... pre-teen boys don't tend to write stories let alone x-readers, they can and all but I digress) writing about shit they wont be interested in a week later. They find this thing they enjoy very much, for example K-pop. They find this K-pop group they love. They watch a shit ton of fan videos, complitations, funny moments of Insert-Bias-Here and they get a, what I'm going to start calling it, Fan-girl High. They think 'Wow I love Insert-Bias-Here Oppa desu sugoi! I'm gonna write a Insert-Bias-Here x reader! It will be daebak!!!!' then they slap together a poorly thought out story that doesn't take itself seriously. Often the scenarios are so unrealistic they deserve an award for cringe. Half the time they add in best friends (B/F/N) Best friends name, you know that shit?) to the reader that make them worse. The best friend trope just needs to stop... I can understand if they're there for actual plot (plot? what plot?) but if they're there for funzies, please.... no. The dear Bias... I pray for you and I'm not even religious. They seem to not even know the celebrity they're writing about since they're so out of character that I want to cry for like... three years. I'm tearing up for the next topic- I don't want to go there but I must address it... Smut. Kill me oh my lord. Don't even get me started. First off, WHERE IS YOUR MOTHER? Second off, DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT SEXUAL INTERCOURSE IS? I swear they just read a smut they randomly find, see key words and use that shit in their own writing without even knowing what the words or metaphors or whatever even mean. I cry ya know? Now... that just about wraps up my whole schpeal, I just want to say no I am not targeting anyone in particular, I am not singling out K-pop fans, tis just an example, and no not all x-readers are this way on this site. There are good ones out there. It depends on the fandom, writer, and in all honesty the site. Some sites have more serious users than others. I know none of this will necessarily change, I've been on the internet long enough to know that. Don't get discouraged. If you have an idea you are excited about and really want to write it, wait a bit. You might just be really into the thing for a little while. Also develop the idea if you simply don't give a shit about waiting to see if its a wave of adoration for the thing. Try not to leave readers hanging... sorry Hetalia and Attack On Titan fic... I wont be continuing you two (at least not for a while).
