Let the story continue! (After a year on hold, of course.)

Chapter Fifteen: History Lesson
After a long period of staring up at the ceiling on my bed, I pushed myself into a sitting position. I leaned against the wall. Thoughts swam in my head.
At first, I thought about how nice it was to gave a sister. Having spent my 17 years alone with my mother, someone else I could call "family" made me feel excited. Sure, we might have quarrels here and there, but that was the part I was looking forward to. My mom and I never had any problems. We just followed our routine without complaint. Wake up, have my lesson, eat dinner and then have "bonding time" before we went to bed.
Iwasneverreally closetoher, I realize. The thought of that made me feel (synonym to sad). I felt tears coming. I wish I had tried to act the part of a daughter, at least.
But I didn't. I was about to break down and start bawling my eyes outfit when somebody knocked on the door. I quickly wiped my eyes before saying "Door's open!"
William's head poked into my room. His eyes searched my face for a reaction before finally relaxing.
"How are you feeling, Phoebe?" He asked, stepping into the room. I looked it him with a blank expression, not quite forgiving him yet. "Are you hungry?"
I noticed he didn't say anything about the remaining classes that I skipped. I shrugged, turning the other way. I felt his gaze on me.
"I already ate," I said dismissively. He simply nodded and turned to walk out of the room.
"Wait!" The word was out before I could stop myself. I surprised myself even further by asking, "Can you stay?"
William smiled. "Whatever you ask."
He pulled a chair out from my desk in the corner and pushed it beside the bed. He sat down silently and looked at me, as if waiting for orders. I said nothing for a while.
"Can," I started, "Can you tell me about..."
I was stuck. What was this place anyways? Another world?A community? City?
William seemed to understand. "Shall I tell you about how this all came to be?" I nodded.
"You're supposed to learn this earlier on in the academy, but since you came here only recently, I'll give you the condensed version, okay?"
"Mhm," I said. "That's okay with me."
"Hundreds of years ago, your people were banished from their world. They came here, Earth, to find that was already inhabited. These creatures- humans- resembled your ancestors greatly. They decided to live amongst the humans.
"You already know that they have powers, right? So some humans caught some of your people using their abilities, and the humans went around burning and hanging them."
"Witches," I whisper. William nods.
"You are what humans would call a 'witch.' To protect their offspring, a group of the people left the original group and created this school, where the future generation could learn to use their powers and live in peace."
"Live?" I question. So people lived here after they finished their learning?
"Not exactly," He began, "In the outside world, there are certain communities exclusive to your people. Anybody living there is either one of your kind, or another supernatural."
"There are other things out there?" I ask, eyes wide.
"Oh, yes, 'Supernaturals' is in the name for a reason, you know. There are people that feed on blood, people that could shape-shift, there's also little creatures that could fly!" William says excitedly, diffrent colored eyes sparkling. A sudden thought comes to me.
"And demons," I say out loud. William looks at me, startled.
"Yes, there are demons out there." He lowers his voice, "They are horrible, blood thirsty monsters."
"But aren't you one yourself?"
He nods. "But you have to remember, I'm specially bred to serve you, Phoebe." I look down at my pillow.
"Bred... how does that work, anyways?" William tenses up.
"Ah! Are you ready to eat yet? So much time has passed! It's almost dinnertime!" He says hastily, changing the subject. I eye him suspiciously as he gets up to leave. William avoids my eyes. He wasn't telling me on purpose.
Before he could exit, I ask him one more question.
"What was the name of the place my people came from?" William relaxes and turns around, still not looking into my eyes.
"Syness, Miss Phoebe," He says, then exits the room. I stare at the now closed white door.
Synyss, huh? That sounds pretty, I think to myself, squeezing the pillow.

Holy-- I wrote more than one page! Woo! I also need to change dat cover. :o
I decided to continue where I left off, rather than starting from scratch. I'll rewrite the story when I'm finished. I wish I just kept uploading back then. I forgot what I had originally planned for this story.
Sigh.
I actually liked what I write when I was, what, eleven? I don't even remember writing half of this stuff. Eleven-year-old me was waaay more creative than present me will ever be. I just hope I won't stop in the middle of writing again. I know I'll try my best!
So, I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I did writing it!
