One Day

c h a p t e r 1- New Friends

A/N: So this is the first chapter!! I am not very good at writing so read at your own risk. Oh yeah btw, Hayley if you are reading this please exit you won't like it trust me. Really. Well this first chapter isn't bad so I guess you could read it but it is about Percy and Nico being together....Hayley. Sooooooooo....... Ok anyways ummm yeah enjoy and give suggestions! Nico's POV~

I watched as the waves lapped the pale sand. I could only think of one thing lately (Odd with my ADHD brain) ... Percy. I tore my thoughts away from the green eyed boy and started looking around. The sun shone brightly on the water most likely meaning  today the beach would be busy today. I watched the water and the kids that had begun to pile in for "beach time" before the giant masses of people and tourists came pouring in. I saw a family enter the beach path way that caught my attention for some reason. A girl with her parents. They were far away, but I could see that the mother and the daughter had matching auburn hair and both seemed very happy. Something I didn't find myself feeling lately. I turned my attention back to the water just to check if he arrived. I let my thoughts wander back to Percy. I blankly stared at the ocean lost in thought.

I sensed something move beside me. (Years of monster fighting and practice does that to you) I curiously looked over to see the girl from earlier. She had light, auburn hair that was just past her small shoulders and beautiful hazel colored eyes. Her hair had a small white bow holding back a loose strand of hair. Her outfit consisted of a red polka dotted tank-ini that had white trim at the top and bottom. On top she had a white light fabric sweatshirt that was unzipped and some light denim short with lace trim around the bottom.She looked around my age and she had a bright happy smile across her face. "Hey I'm Alexandria, Lexi for short... and I just moved here so I don't have any friends..." Lexi broke the science as I took in her appearance.

"Nico Di Angelo." I spoke just above a whisper since I hadn't talked too much for a month or so, except for when needed. Telling her my name couldn't hurt.

"Huh?" Lexi grunted confused.

"My name, that's my name." I stated my voice crackling from the sudden use.

"Oh," she giggled making her face brighten up with an open mouth smile. Then with slight hesitation she asked, "So wanna be friends? Like I said I don't have any really and you looked kind of lonely..."

I chuckled at how she got nervous. I know I'm intimidating but I guess I never thought I was so scary that she couldn't ask me to be her friend. "I do?" I asked thinking about her previous comment of me "looking lonely."

I started to warm up to her and we talked for a while. She figured out that I don't like to share much about my personal life and told her own stories. Which was nice. She didn't care that I was different, she didn't think I was weird. She just took her time to get to know me for who I really am unlike most people who just run away. She didn't care what I looked like. She just genuinely wanted to be my friend.

I looked up from our current conversation to see two adults walking towards us. The first one looked similar to Lexi with vibrant green eyes and auburn hair. She was a little shorter then Lexi, but only by a couple inches. Her face was lit up by the same bright happy smile. She wore a black and white striped one piece bathing suit with a loose, flowing black skirt. Placed on her beautiful wavy auburn hair was a straw hat with a black bow tied around to the front of it. I quickly guessed that she was Lexi's mom. The other I assume was Lexi's dad. He had light brown hair that was slicked back nicely. His eyes were a dull brown color and they showed no interest in anything. His mouth was pulled into what seemed like an infinite scowl that created little wrinkles near the corners. He was wearing beige khaki (did I spell that right?) shorts with a plain white, tight fitting tee- shirt that showed his defined muscles. They looked like polar opposites, but I wasn't one to judge.

"Hey Lexi! Who's your new friend?" The woman spoke.

"This is Nico Di Angelo," Lexi laughed a little, "and we haven't officially became friends yet."

"We haven't?" I questioned humor present in my voice.

Lexi laughed innocently, "No you never answered when I asked, you just said "do I?" And laughed."

"Oh I'm sorry that I didn't make it clear enough, just let me..." I started chuckling I got into a kneeling position and asked, "Lexi... uhhh whatever your last name is, will you make me the happiest man alive and be my friend?"

"Oh Nico, I thought you'd never ask. Of course I will!!" she said fake wiping happy tears from her cheeks. We all were laughing except Mr. I-don't-know-how-to-smile. Wonder what crawled up his ass and made him so grumpy. He just rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.

"Lexi your cousins are here and we came to tell you that you should come say hello." Her dad huffed with a monotone voice.

"Oh Okay," Lexi Sighed, "Bye Nico, maybe we can meet up again sometime?"

"Bye, Lexi." I waved as she walked back to her and her family's spot on the beach. For the first time in a while I was a little more happy and I had a friend again.

As the sun started to set I got up to walk back to Sally's apartment. She was letting me stay there while I dealt with some... stuff going on in my life. I thought about everything that happened that day. As happy as I was about Lexi becoming my friend I couldn't let her get in my way. She couldn't distract me...

Hi guys! How was the first chapter? Percy wont come in to the story for a couple chapters. This is for the plot of the story. Don't worry it'll happen. I will work harder on updating, but my focus right now is going to me and my cousin's story! So I am very sorry. If you're interested though The book should be out soon (The first chapter or two) on our joined account adorkable_XD and the story is called The Forsaken Kingdoms. It is a fantasy book.
