"Y/N!" a kid you were babysitting that night kept bugging for you to read a bed time story. You internally groaned, but after endless complaining you gave in. The little girl snuggled up in bed after handing you a book about a princess locked up in a castle. You read the book clearly, trying not to nod off as you had heard the story one to many times. Luckily, after a few minutes, you looked over at the bed to find her sound asleep. You breathed a sigh of relief before placing the book on the bedside table and tip toeing downstairs.
You plugged your huge headphones into your phone and watched a few videos, totally immersed in them. It took you by surprise when the front door started opening. You frowned and checked the time. It was 7pm and the parents weren't supposed to be back until 12am at the least. You looked up at the door once again and threw your ugly headphones off your head when you saw a very attractive boy taking off his shoes. The headphones hit the floor and made a loud crashing noise which startled both you and the boy, who nearly fell over due to him only standing on one leg trying to untie his shoelaces. You cautiously picked up the headphones and placed them beside you. The boy came into the front room and looked at you confused.
"Sorry to be rude, but who are you?" Your face went slightly red as you told him your name and explained that you were babysitting the girl upstairs. He introduced himself as the girl's brother, and you remembered that the parents had mentioned that they did have a son, but he was supposed to be at a party until the early hours of the morning.
"Well, I'm Ten and you have a beautiful name." He grinned at you, showing his pearly white teeth. You could feel your cheeks burning, so you lowered your head and mumbled a thank you. He giggled, which caused you to look up in surprise and smile at the cute sound. He covered his mouth in embarrassment and you couldn't help but coo at his sweet nature.
"Enough of that, can I sit next to you?" He pointed to the space beside you, which was occupied by the headphones you had thrown on the floor earlier. You nodded and removed them, placing them in your bag. "Those are some big headphones" Ten teased, causing you to laugh and cover your face with your hands. "Don't hide your face" He spoke softly, and your face went crimson.
"You don't talk much do you?"
"Sorry I'm just.." You trailed your sentence off, not sure which word to use that would justify your thoughts without making yourself look like a fool.
"It's okay, you're cute when you're shy anyway"
"Stop!" You cringed in embarrassment, making Ten break out into beautiful laughter. He stopped and looked at you deeply. You froze under his stare, his eyes trapping you in a trance. He smiled slightly, causing the sides of your mouth to curve upwards in reply.
"Not meaning to pry, but why are you back so early?" You asked, breaking the eye contact slightly.
"The party I went to was boring, so I decided to walk home. It's only a few blocks away anyway." You nodded in understanding and look down at your hands, not sure what else to say. "Wanna watch a movie?" He asked, not waiting for your reply as he strolled over and collected the TV remote.
"Sure" You replied. You both settled on watching The Lion King, as he claimed that it was his favourite movie and that he hadn't seen it in forever.
In the middle of the film, he sneakily put his arm around your shoulder, and you grinned at his cheekiness. You were seriously starting to like this guy, he made your heart flutter. It was in this moment that you both knew that you'd be very special to each other in time to come.
How was it? Any feedback would be great!
