"Meet your new step brother."
Your eyes widened as your father spoke those words. He had been dating this woman for a quite a while now, but now they were going to get married? A boy who looked a few years younger than you came into the room, his eyes looking everywhere but you. He was a good looking boy who seemed very nervous and shy, as he was fiddling with the sleeve of his jumper.
"Wait so you and Yoona are getting married?! Thanks for letting me know!"
Your father looked at you in pity before apologising.
"Look I know it's a lot to take in, but please be kind to Jeno," he gestured to the young boy. "I trust that you will be a good sister and take care of him."
You took another glance at Jeno. You then sighed loudly before agreeing and your father's face lit up. He ruffled your hair and then walked out of the room, most likely to go see his wife-to-be. You then averted your gaze to Jeno, who looked at you shyly. You smiled welcomely and patted the seat in front of you. He slowly made his way towards you.
"I'm sorry that your father didn't tell you, I assumed that you knew." He spoke quietly.
"It's okay, I mean, I sort of knew it was going to happen anyway, however it would of been nice if he had warned me." Jeno nodded and silence fell for a few minutes. You then decided to stop the awkwardness and ask him a few questions about himself.
"So, how old are you? Where do you come from? Favourite food? Favourite colour?" He chuckled as you threw questions at him but answered them quickly. You found out that he was 2 years younger than you and that he was born in Seoul. He moved to where you were to pursue his dream in dancing, as there was a big dance school nearby which he desperately wanted to be accepted into.
"Wow you must be pretty good at dancing if you wanna go there, care to show me?" He blushed madly.
"Erm I'm not really that good..."
"Rubbish!" A female voice came from behind you, and so you turned around to see Yoona with her hands on her hips looking at her son. "You are the best dancer I've ever seen! Now show Y/N some of your moves." Jeno cringed but signed in defeat. You grinned in excitement and he went through the playlist on his phone. The music started playing and you knew exactly what it was as soon as it came on. Growl by EXO.
He perfected the dance, making you speechless. He also had really good stage presence and had really powerful moves. When he had finished Yoona and yourself clapped madly, smiling from ear to ear.
"Wow! I think you almost performed it better than EXO!" You joked, causing Jeno to shake his head viciously. "No but seriously, I think you're good enough to become an idol." Jeno looked at you in surprise.
"Really? But I don't think I have all of the qualities of an idol."
"Well you can dance really well, you're good looking, it all depends if you can sing. Can you?"
He shook his head slightly before Yoona interrupted.
"Again, rubbish, this boy has the voice of an angel." The poor boy blushed madly before begging his mother to stop embarrassing him.
"So why don't you audition for SM or something?"
"Y/N dear, as good as Jeno may be I really think that would be taking it a step too far... Only the best trainees in the world go to SM."
(And JYP ofc - sorry I'm JYP biased lmao)
You looked at Jeno who looked a little upset by his mother's comment, so you stood next to him and put your hand on his shoulder.
"Your son has incredible talent, and I think you should give him a chance. Let him audition for SM." Jeno looked up at you and smiled, happy that you had faith in him even though you'd just met him. Yoona looked at the both of you for while before signing in defeat.
"I guess you could try."

You held the hot coffee in your hand as you walked through the corridors of the SM building. Jeno was practising but you wanted to surprise him with some coffee as you haven't seen him in forever, and you could hear the loud music from a couple of corridors away.
Jeno auditioned for SM as you had suggested, and got in without no problem. 3 years later, he was part of smrookies, soon to debut as NCT, and you couldn't be more proud. You and Jeno were very close, and you tried to visit him as much as possible, as he was never home. You worked close-by, so it was easier to pop in and spend a few minutes with him and watch him practise.
You opened the practise room door and Jeno was dancing with Jaemin and Jisung, the two other younger members. You stood at the door, admiring his dancing for a while before Yuta, who was sitting down on the floor shouted your name.
"Y/N!!!!" He came up to you and gave you a light hug.
"How are you doing?"
"I'm good thanks, I dropped by to give Jeno some coffee." Yuta pouted.
"None for me?" You grinned and ruffled up his hair before making your way over to the others. Taeyong, Jaehyun and Ten all greeted you with smiles as they had met you many times before. You were all chatting merrily when the music stopped and a sweaty Jeno came running towards you.
"Noona!" He embraced you and you shrieked as he stunk so bad, and now his sweat was all over your blouse. He laughed and you pretended to slap him round the face jokingly. You passed the coffee cup to him and a drank it quickly.
"It was cold." He deadpanned and you rolled your eyes. So inconsiderate.
"Well sorry Mr Famous, next time I won't bother."
"Noona I'm not famous."
"Not yet. My brother is gonna be the most famous NCT member."
"Hey! What about us?!" Yuta pretended to sulk, causing you to laugh. You loved to tease the members, especially Jeno and Yuta.
"Enough flirting, now Y/N I really don't mean to be rude but we have to practise right now." Taeyong said giving you a sympathetic stare. You said that you didn't mind, and that your train was soon anyway.
"Come visit soon noona, I miss you." You awed and ruffled his hair before leaving a kiss on his sweaty forehead.
"I love you baby brother." You teased, while Jeno pushed you off him, embarrassed as his members where snickering. They all then started practising as you were leaving, and you took a few moments to watch Jeno dancing.
Oh, how proud you were of your step brother.
