Jaemin had been your best friend ever since you were young, and the two of you were inseparable. You did everything together, until suddenly Jaemin came into school with a girl on his arm...
"Jaemin! Who's this?" You greeted her politely and smiled genuinely at her.
"Y/N this is my girlfriend, Rose. Rose this is my friend Y/N."
"BEST friend" you corrected, smiling. Rose rolled her eyes and you were quite shocked that she could be so rude. You furrowed your eyebrows but turned back to Jaemin.
"Hey Jaemin apparently we have to do our presentation by tomorrow instead of Friday, so we should meet up and get it done."
"He's going out with me tonight. Sorry." Rose spoke out harshly, her voice high pitched and annoying. Jaemin just shrugged his shoulders at you while you couldn't believe what you were seeing. Jaemin was one of the most independent people she knew, he would never be bossed around by anyone.
"Erm okay well when are we gonna do it?"
"You're not. You surely don't mind doing it by yourself no?" The words coming out of Jaemin's mouth didn't seem real, and your eyes widened with shock.
"Jaemin what the hell-" you started but Rose pulled him away from you and the two of them strolled down the corridor, Jaemin not looking back once. You felt annoyed but sad, you didn't like what your best friend was becoming, and also it hurt you that he never said that he had a girlfriend. You were supposed to tell each other everything. You sighed and made your way to your first class, your feet dragging across the floor.
"Y/N!" You turned around to see your friend Irene, skipping towards you. She greeted you with a grin whilst your mouth turned into a slight grimace. Her smile faded. "What's up with you?"
You sighed. "Jaemin has a new girlfriend and she's being a bitch."
"Excuse me?"
You turned around to see Jaemin standing there, again, with Rose clung to his arm.
"Rose doesn't deserve to be spoken to like that. Apologise." Jaemin commanded and you laughed ironically.
"Hell no, she's making your decisions for you, what sort of girlfriend is that?"
"I'm making my own decisions now. Leave me the fuck alone." Your mouth gaped open and you were about to launch at him but Irene grabbed your wrist.
"Y/N come on, don't waste your time on this twat." And you nodded before turning your back on the pair, with Irene leading you away from them.
You spent the rest of the day with Irene and her friends, who were kind to you and it was fun to be with someone new, however you missed Jaemin and his jokes, and by the end of the day you found yourself sad about it. Irene came up to you after school and pulled you into a gentle hug.
"I know you miss him Y/N, but you can't be treated like that can you? I'm sure he'll come around soon once he has got rid of that witch." You laughed softly and thanked her sincerely. She really was a great friend.
You walked home alone for the first time in years, your feet dragging as the journey seemed so much longer when you were by yourself. Just as you were about to turn into your road, you heard your name being called loudly. You swiftly spun around to find Jaemin running at full pace at you. You told yourself that you should ignore him and go to your house, but you had a weak spot for Jaemin, who was shortly standing less than a metre in front of you. He tried to get his breath back and you had to stifle a laugh. Unfit much you thought.
"Look Y/N, about today I-"
"Stop Jaemin, you've done enough. You told ME to leave you the fuck alone? What sort of best friend does that?"
He looked at you with sorrow before taking a step closer and pulling you into his chest for a hug. He wrapped his arms around your waist and you couldn't help but feel emotional; you seriously thought you had lost him.
"I really didn't mean it, it's just that, Rose can be manipulating and..."
"Why didn't you tell me you had a girlfriend? We usually tell each other everything" You said sadly, and Jaemin pulled away slowly from the hug, guilt present in his eyes.
"She asked me not to tell anyone and-"
"Since when are you bossed around by anyone?" You cut him off. "What has happened to you Jaemin?" He shook his head and ran his hand through his hair in frustration; he didn't know what to do.
"I really like her, Y/N I can't help it. I know it's bad that she's making me do things but I promise that I'll never be rude to you again, I won't let her take me away from you." You smiled at him and stood on your tiptoes to ruffle his hair.
"I don't mind you dating her Jaemin, but don't loose yourself okay? Don't let her make you into someone else."
"I love you, best friend" Jaemin said, and you grinned in return before you both skipped off home, laughing and joking together.
So I've been a bad writer and keep forgetting to update this book. I am working very hard at school atm so I hope you can all understand that I don't have much time for writing stories as much anymore:(
Nevertheless, I shall try to push myself to write more imagines for you guys because you're all so nice and I love you all lots !
