"You let him be alone!"
Anne looked coldly at her son and she was actually going to do what she wanted to do a long time. Telling him what she thought about everything. Harry looked coldly up at her and he had almost poured in a hole bottle of whiskey. He frowned and he growled.
"I'll go to Ireland and tell the little prick that he can't do this to me."
Anne locked the front door and she quickly shook her head.
"No, Harry!" she whispered hoarsely. "You don't think logically right now. Niall wants to be alone."
Harry growled.
"No, he needs me."
She smiled weakly at him.
"No, it's you who needs him. He'll be fine without you."
Harry's anger flowed off him and he just stared at her. Yes, she was right. Niall did well without Harry, but Harry didn't make it without him. The anger went over to weeping and he sank down to his knees on the floor.
"Mom, I've ruined everything?"
She shook her head and she came up to him. She sat down on her knees in front of him, with a certain distance. She knew that he hated her closeness and she respected that.
"No, Harry!" she smiled. "You haven't ruined anything if you let him be a few days. He needs to think and he needs to feel safe with you again."
Harry sobbed a little.
"No, it's over."
Anne wanted to hug Harry. She wanted to take him in her arms and tell him that everything would be fine, but she knew it wouldn't work that way. She had tried so many times, but he always pushed her away. He didn't feel her love and he didn't want a hug.
"Maybe you were too much for him?"
Harry nodded, and he looked up at her, still with tears running.
"I'm always too much, aren't I?"
Anne took a deep breath. She chose to just nod. Harry collapsed and it was as if the air went out of him. He looked down at the floor and once again he was back in the age of five. He felt weak, abandoned and hated. It was as if he went back in time and all that was left was just guilt.
"I have never been loved." he muttered hoarsely. "Not in that way, and when I met Niall, I felt for the first time, that I was proud over myself. I was someone he put the time in."
Anne understood. She had seen how he had struggled throughout life, and she knew he hadn't had it easy.
"I love you too." she got up, but she knew he was talking about a different love. Harry smiled a little bit.
"I know, but what I feel for him..." he dropped the words and he looked up at her. He only had pain in his eyes and everything else was a fog.
"Does he know about it?" she asked hoarsely. He nodded, but then he hesitated.
"I have said that I love him and I've really tried to explain that he's my everything."
She smiled.
"Maybe he's afraid you feel too much and that he's not enough?"
Harry swallowed. He nodded, and he looked down at the floor again. He took a deep breath.
"There's so much you don't know about." he got up. "I've done things in my life..." he looked up at her again. "As normal people don't do."
Anne frowned.
"Like what?"
Harry looked straight at her and he was honest Now, for the first time in his life, against her.
"I have always been angry and I have always taken advantage of others for personal gain." he replied. It didn't come as news to Anne.
"Yes, but then you have also done very good things too." she said testing. He smiled and he shook his head.
"No, I have beaten the crap out of them."
She became serious and she didn't understand what he was talking about.
"Do you mean literally?"
Harry nodded weakly.
"Yes, Dominance and submission" it was the first time he said those words to her, to his mother. "I loved to literally knock people for sexual purposes. I was excited by forcing boys into submission, Mom."
She become stiff all over and she just stared at him. Harry laughed a little.
"I understand your reaction. When I met Niall, I wanted to lure him into the game, but he refused. The more I really wanted to do all that to him, the more he said no, and in the end I loved him because of that. He showed me a different way and he showed me how to be normal. "
She swallowed.
"So you beat Niall?"
Harry shook his head.
"No, absolutely not, but I've done it with others before him. I have tied them in rope and whipped them. I've used them in every way and they wanted me to do so. They didn't know that I didn't care about them. I needed it to get out my anger and I hated life so much. I'm tired of hating, and I'm tired of beating."
Tears came out of her eyes and laid her head slightly askew.
"Why didn't you ever come to me?" she asked hoarsely. "I could have helped you and you could have talked to me?"
Harry snorted and he shook his head.
"No, you can't help me. The only one who can help me is Niall and I destroyed everything between us."
Anne slowly began to understand, slowly, she realized why Niall was so important, and even that she had learned about the dark side of Harry, she wanted to stay and help him.
"What can I do?" she asked. Harry had a smile and he swallowed.
"All the things as you already do." he responded nicely. "It's enough that I know you are here."
She swallowed and she wiped away the tears.
"Oh, Harry, you can't imagine how much those words mean to me."
He blushed a little bit.
"Yes indeed, I understand!" he whispered hoarsely. "I have been poor at telling what you and dad means to me. I just haven't known how to do to so. I took everything for granted."
She sniffed.
"It's okay, Harry."
He leaned forward slowly. Slowly, he pulled her into his arms and for the first time in his life he hugged her.
