The Gift of a Friend(TMNT fanfiction)

Chapter 13

Third Person POV:

The turtles and April ran down halls and corridors until they reached the lab. When they did, the turtles were in horror when they saw Rosa tied up in the chair bruised, bloody, and gasping for air as the collar around her neck was choking her to death. All of them ran over to her while April kept Vern company. Leo quickly got the collar off of her first before helping his brothers cut off the ropes around her raw wrists and ankles. Raph quickly ripped the tape off her mouth and lifted her head up. "Rosa? Rosa, wake up. It's me Raph. Leo, Donnie, and Mikey are here too. We're gonna take you home." 

Rosa groaned and slowly fluttered her eyes open and gave a small smile. "Took you all long enough." That made her turtle friends chuckle lightly before Raph gently picked her up in his arms and soon they ran out of the building and to their lair. As soon as they got there, Raph set Rosa on the couch to help his brothers heal their master. Donnie grabbed the mutagen that they managed to steal from Shredder and gently put some in Splinter. After waiting for a few minutes, all four turtles witnessed in joy as their father slowly opened his eyes to look at them. 

As soon as he woke up, Splinter whispered something in Mikey's ear. "What'd he say? What'd he say?" Leo asked eagerly. Mikey turned to him and said, "He said get your knee off my chest." And that's exactly what he did as they all looked at their master with smiles. "We're sorry for leaving. You were right, we weren't ready." Raph said with a sigh. Splinter was quick to shake his head in disagree. "No, it was I who wasn't ready to let you go. You saved an entire city, and for that, I am very proud." They all smiled wide and looked at each other before Splinter asked, "What of Rosa my boys?" Raph then quickly ran to the couch and picked up Rosa. He brought her over to another table that was in there and set her down. 

"Sacks had her and was going to use her as an experiment for the mutagen. Luckily April stopped him just in time." Leo said. Donnie ran over and started to treat Rosa. "Yeah and judging by the looks of these wounds, I won't be done with her for about 4 hours." Raph stood next to his purple-masked brother and huffed. "Then what do we do?" Donnie looked at all of them and replied, "You three help get Splinter to the couch and help him with whatever he needs while I fix up Rosa." With that, he gave his full attention to Rosa again while his brothers did what exactly what he ordered. All of them knew that when Donnie was in medical mode, it was best to just do what he says. 

<><><><><>4 Hours Later<><><><><>

Like Donnie had said, it took him 4 whole hours to fix Rosa up. He grabbed a new brace that he made and put it on her knee as he finished wiping all the blood off of her. He had stitched up all the cuts and wrapped a bandage around her torso to help heal her two cracked ribs. He put soothing cream on her neck, wrists, and ankles where there were marks from being held in bondage. After all that was done, he sighed in relief and watched as Rosa slowly woke up. This time she felt better.

Rosa opened her eyes fully this time and looked around until her eyes caught onto Donnie. "D-Donnie?" Donnie smiled and gently hugged his friend, being mindful of her wounds. "I'm so glad you're alive! Are you okay?" Donnie pulled away carefully to see her shrug lightly. "More or less. My body still aches, but not as much when I was in Sacks' hands. How long was I out?" Donnie gave her a small and sympathetic smile before stating, "About 4 hours." Rosa just nodded and laid back in the bed she was on. She then quickly looked around to see that she was in her room. "How did I get here? I was on the couch." Donnie chuckled a little and helped prop her body up. "Raph took you to one of the tables in my lab. After I fixed you up I brought you in here so that you can heal in a more comfortable environment."

Rosa smiled softly at Donnie as a silent 'thank you' before laying back. "Where are the others?" Donnie walked to her door and opened it a little. "They're in the living room. I'll go get them." Rosa nodded and just sat there in the silence, finally being able to relax for the first time in the two weeks she was apparently gone. 

After five minutes Donnie came back in Rosa's room, this time with his brothers in tow. Once they caught sight of her; Leo, Raph, and Mikey quickly ran to her side. "Rosa! You're okay! We thought you would have been gone forever!" Mikey exclaimed as he hugged Rosa gently. Rosa giggled lightly and hugged back as much as she could. "Don't worry Mikey, I'm not going anywhere for a while." Mikey smiled wide and pulled away to sit next to her on the bed. Leo sat on the end of her bed and Raph sat in the chair next to her while Donnie just stood up. Raph was doing his best to hold back tears of joy. His best friend and crush was now back with them, and he was never letting her go again. 

Leo then spoke up, "We're glad you're okay. I still can't believe we were deceived by Sacks by a robot double of you." Rosa giggled again at Leo's confused face and shrugged. "I still can;t believe it either. I feel like my mind has been betrayed somehow. Although to be honest, I'm not really okay. I am physically now that I'm home again, but..." that made Raph get protective as he wrapped an arm around her and bit back his developing anger for Sacks. "But what? What happened?" Rosa sniffed a little and looked down, no matter how much she was blushing at Raph's actions, and sighed. "When I woke up at Sacks' house, he confesses that he helped my mom kill my dad so that he can finally get to me. Apparently, my dad was protecting me from being Sacks' guinea pig, and Sacks didn't like that so he and my mom got together to kill him." 

Rosa looked down as the turtles had a look of shock on their faces before gathering around and finding a spot on the bed to sit on. None of them said a word. They didn't have to. They all just sat on her bed and comforted Rosa by just being there with her. They knew that their friend was in need of comfort, and right now their actions were speaking louder than any word they could've said. Rosa smiled softly as she leaned into her friends. 

Mikey was next to Rosa with his head on her shoulder.

Leo was sitting near her legs with a hand on her knee.

Donnie was laying on his side at the end of her bed.

And Raph was sitting at the front of her bed with Rosa held close in his shoulder with his hand stroking her hair. Raph wished he could confess to Rosa right now that he loved her, but he knew that it wasn't the right time. Right now Rosa just needed her friends her to comfort her. Plus, Raph had a better idea on how to tell her and he would rather do it when Rosa's injuries were 100% healed. 

They didn't say anything for a while, just to enjoy each other's company. Eventually, they did pick up a conversation. They talked about what happened to each other during the battle or just random stuff. they didn't really care what they talked about, they were just having fun for the first time in a while. And it was then when they realized that nothing is better than the gift of a friend.

Just so you know this isn't the last chapter! In case you got confused with the ending! It was just meant to be heartfelt and sweet. I think maybe the next chapter or the chapter after that will be the last one. We still gotta get Raph and Rosa together and I refuse to end this book until I get them together.
