Right now I was sitting on a table in Donnie's lab since my knee needed fixing again. I had an ice pack on my face where I was slapped while Donnie was wrapping my knee in a brace. I winced as his hand accidentally brushed against it.
"Ow," I complained. Donnie winced, "Sorry Rosa. What did you even do to get your knee like this? It's all banged up." Leo, Mikey, Raph, and even Master Splinter were also in the room. I sighed and said, "I was walking down the sewer pipes and I didn't pay any attention in front of my cause I fell down to another layer of the pipes. And I just so happened to land on my knee." "I'm sorry to hear that dudette, but why were you coming down here anyway?" I looked at Mikey for a second before looking down at my hands. "Uh, n-no reason. I, um, just wanted to hang out with my best friends. Is that, uh, such a crime?" I mentally face-palmed myself for stuttering. I always stutter when I lie. I saw Leo walk over and bend down to meet my eyes. "Rosa...what happened?" He asked in a serious tone. When Leo uses that tone, it means not to mess with him or to just do what he says.
I huffed and explained, "I met my mom's boyfriend and it turns out they're getting married after one day of dating. And mom says she's doing it to replace my dad who I just found was dead for two weeks. What's worse is that...is that she killed him." I was full out crying by now. All of them gasped in shock at the same time. Leo instantly pulled me into a hug, then all of them followed and did the same thing. After my crying died down I sniffed and smiled a little. "Thanks, guys." All of them pulled away. I wiped my tears and silently prayed a thank you that I don't wear makeup. Raph patted my back, "Don't worry. You can stay with us." "Really?" Mikey slung his arm around me and smiled. "Of course! You think we wouldn't let the only best friend we have who we've known for 9 years live with us after finding out the truth about her mother? That's absurd." I laughed at his sentence and said, "That is true." I hugged him and smiled at the guys. "Thanks."
---Time skip to lunchtime---
After being patched up I was sitting on the couch with my leg propped up on the coffee table while Leo was meditating, Mikey was playing video games, Donnie was in the lab doing who knows what, and Raph was getting me a pizza after 50 minutes of begging. I was also rubbing my knee every once in a while to help keep the pain away. Donnie bandaged my knee then put it in a knee brace to help it heal. He also said that me keeping the brace determines on how well my knee is actually healing. I heard footsteps and smiled as I saw Raph walking in with a plate of pizza and an Orange Crush for me. I grabbed them and said, "Thanks, Raph. You didn't have to do this for me." He chuckled. "I didn't, but how could I not after your constant begging for the last 50 minutes?" I smirked. "Hey! I'm injured. It's the least you could do for me." He sighed in defeat. I smiled knowing I had won that debate and ate my pizza happily. Raph sat down next to me and we watched Mikey play Super Smash Bros. on the Wii. He was playing as Bowser and so far he wasn't doing to good. I chuckled as he pouted since he lost the game.
"Hey Mikey, give me that remote. I'm going to show you how the expert does it." "Oh, you think you can beat me?" "I know I can." I grabbed the remote and selected my character, which was Link. He's my favorite character to play, also I'm really good as him. I put the other players on random and began the game. I kept my focus through the whole battle as I was beating my opponents' butts big time. Time was almost out and I kept beating them. "Come on, almost there," I muttered then did a fist pump in the air and cheered as I won the game. "Yes!" Mikey was in shock. "Whoa...how are you so good?" I smirked and handed him the remote. "I'm just naturally gifted." I paused for a moment before laughing. "I'm just kidding. I have cousins who come over a lot and we play this game a lot." I smiled and went back to my delicious pizza. All that battling made me hungry even more. These are the moments that I live for. Hanging out with my best friends.
