"What do you think it was?" Kellin questions after I finish telling the group what happened yesterday "I have no idea, I just know that the content or contents of the container started to glow when Melcom started the machine," I inform.
"I'm guessing Melcom wants you back there again, right?" Pete questions and I nod "Well I was kinda expecting that, so Gerard and I made a plan," he says and everyone - including me - look at him expectantly. "We thought, 'why don't we use Gerard's 'Powers'...I mean he's a chameleon boy, right? Why not make him go into the room with Frank so he can help him figure out what Melcom is doing with that machine?" Pete suggests and I'm wondering why we didn't think of something like that before, we should've tho- "I don't turn invisible Pete, I just blend into the room," Gerard points out, interrupting my thoughts "That's practically turning invisible... you just have to stay quiet and not make any noises, I'm pretty sure he's not going to notice you," Pete says and the others nod in agreement.
"Hold on a sec, where's Andy?"I question as I notice that he isn't in the circle and everyone starts to look around to see if they spot the 6 foot 4 kid anywhere, but as I expected he's not here, "Maybe Melcom is 'taking tests' with him?" Jaime suggests before wrapping one arm around his boyfriend who looks a little pale... well actually paler, because Kellin is usually pale, but this? He looks like a ghost to be honest.
"Don't worry sweetie, I'm not gone let them hurt you," Jaime whispers near Kellin's ear
calming him down a little, Jaime then looks at someone behind me and I turn around to see Andy making his way towards us while rubbing his eyes "Dude, where the hell have you been? We've been worried," Kellin questions.
"I overslept," Andy, informs as he sits down "For three hours?" Jaime questions, "I was tired okay...and my alarm didn't go off," he argues "At least you're not in Melcom's office," I say patting his shoulder before taking a bite of my fries.
"Ehm...Frankie," Jaime whispers tapping my hand and I look at him to see him nodding at something behind me. When I turn around, I see Spence making his way towards us "Iero, Mr. Andrews wants to see you," he informs and I shoot Gee a look, before standing up and following Spence out of the cafeteria.
|Gerard's POV|
Once Spence is out of the cafeteria, I get out and half walk, half sprint after them and I manage to enter the room by an inch, before Melcom closes the door. "You have to cooperate with me, it'll hurt less, alright," Melcom informs as Frank sits down on a chair "Since when do you care if I feel pain or not?" Frank questions as Melcom puts a helmet like thing on his head "I already told you. Ryan still likes you and he'll kill me if I hurt you in any way," Melcom responds as he turns the machine on and as Frankie said, there is a glowing substance inside a tank, but first, I need to figure out what Melcom is doing with that machine. I can't understand anything that's written on the computer, except the word 'Absorption', so I decide to make my way to the tank, to see what's inside, but I can't, it's too bright.
When I accidentally touch the tank, I get catapulted against the door, making Melcom turn around and look at me in shock "How did you get in here?" he questions "You weren't supposed to see this," he adds before launching at me. When I put my hands up in defense, Melcom is suddenly catapulted against the wall, which knocks him out; my eyes wander towards Frank, who looks just as confused as me.
"I have no idea of what just happened, but we gotta get out of here," I stutter before getting up an d trying to take the helmet off his head "Stop pulling it...you have to turn off the machine first," Frank says as he groans in pain "Sorry," I apologize, before going to the computer and turning it off.
"What happened?" Pete questions as he opens his door "Something crazy is going on," I say "Can you just let us in," I add, a little agitated "Okay, grumpy," Pete says putting his hands up in defense and letting us pass through.
"Okay, so what happened?" he asks again as I sit down.
Frank locks the doorand all the boys look at us confused "Whatever Melcom is planning, it's biggerthen we thought," I say as Frank sits down beside me "I have no Idea how it happened, but when Gee touched the tank – I think – he suddenly had my telekinesis," Frank informs and Pete plumps on the bed. "Wait...does that mean that his 'treatment' is the absorption of our powers?" Kellin questions, before Pete can open his mouth "I did see the word 'Absorption' on the machine's computer, but that was the only thing I could understand," I explain.
"How many powers and how much of them does he have?" Jaime questions, "I don't know the amount, but he definitely has ours...maybe from some of the other students?" Frank shrugs before resting his head on my shoulder.
"Now I get it, this has always been his plan," Pete chimes in after what seems like ages, "Would you like to enlighten us with you knowledge," Andy questions, speaking for us all. "Melcom is a hunter, right? *We all nod* well...hunters want to end the 'Mutant Problem', right? *We nod once again* and what's the best way to end all of us at once? *Andy and I shrug* to fight us with our own powers, you know, fire against fire," Pete explains and a light bulb turns on in my head, "What if he's able to absorb all of the powers? He'll be stronger than any one of us," I say, "I don't think he can," Frank informs, but before I can say anything, Pete chimes in "You're right, Melcom is human, he can't mentally, possess such power –", "It would be practically suicide," Frank says, finishing Pete's sentence.
"Maybe he can take a certain amount in?" I suggest, and Pete shrugs.
As Jaime is about to say something, there is a knock on the door and we all look at each other in terror, the knocks getting louder and louder until a voice says:
"Guys open the door"
