It had been two more weeks which meant I had been stuck in this cell for sixs weeks. My back was feeling much better, and I improved thanks to slowly becoming able to eating again. I also began reading, since it was the only way to pass the time, which grew exceedingly longer each day.
Loki came every night as usual and would bring dinner and a new book with him. He would sit and talk about the book as I ate silently. I couldn't tell if this bothered Loki or not. He constantly asked me questions about myself that I refused to answer.
I sometimes wondered if his company was actually good. It did get lonely, but when the company is the person who did this to you and who killed a person close to you, how do you respond? I was beginning to crack, even though I hated it. A human can only go through so much solitude before going insane.
I was losing hope. Would I never return home? Six long weeks in this cage.

Loki entered with a tray and a book in his hand, but this time with something also draped over his forearm. I stood up, setting my current book aside, my pile slowly turning into a small library.
"Enjoying that one?" he asked setting my food down that was covered. I shrugged my shoulders and went to open the food but Loki's hand stopped me. I quickly pulled away looking at him fiercely. "Easy, I just wanted to offer you this before your dinner," he spoke, handing me the thing draped over his arm. It was a dress.
I raised my eyebrows. It had been awhile since a proper shower, thanks to my back, and my clothes were a mess. The smell probably wasn't pleasant either. I took it slowly and look at the bathroom, then back at him, then down at the dress. I sighed, I wasn't much of a dressy girl.
I slid into the bathroom and locked it. I quickly showered and changed into the dress. It was a light blue fabric that went all the way to the floor. It was sleeveless but had straps that extended to my shoulders. It also had a gem on the side where extra fabric gathered to make a ruffle. It fit nicely and after tossing my old clothes away I stepped out. I felt way too over dressed.
I quickly sat down and opened my dinner. I ate it slowly as Loki continued to ask me questions.
"You at least have to tell me your name," he said, leaning in over the table.
"I don't have to," I retorted.
"I order you to."
"I don't listen to orders very well."
"You must, or you wouldn't be a top agent."
"Maybe that's because I'm good at shooting things."
"Really? Is that why your bullet hit me in the mere shoulder instead of head?"
"I was ordered not to kill you."
"How touching."
"Killing would be a blessing though from what I heard they planned to do with you," I bluffed.
"I doubt they could do anything that would hurt me."
"Playing tough?"
"Your name."
"Adeline," I finally mustered out. At least it would get him off my back.
"Adeline.." he repeated, almost like he was feeling how the word felt on his tongue. I looked at him, wondering what he thought. "It's a beautiful name," he finished taking me off guard. I stared at him, my head cocked to one side. What game was he playing at?
I quickly finished my meal and set it back on the platter. "You can leave now," I stated plainly.
Loki stood up slowly, his height hovering mine. "You are a confusing species."
"I'm not a 'species' who likes being studied," I spat.
"My apologies, I wasn't trying to make you feel like you were being studied."
"Could've fooled me."
"Your job is to hunt and kill people like me, how can you enjoy that?"
"It saves peoples lives, how could I not?"
"Saves people? You are still killing."
"Yes, but they're threats."
"Maybe you are hindering the world from having something better."
"Better? You mean having someone like you ruling? Yeah, I see them agreeing to that after knowing I've been locked in here like a animal for weeks!"
"Why are you always so against me? I've treated you kindly."
"Treated me kindly? Is that a joke?! I'm a prisoner!"
"I haven't been treating you like one."
"Oh, yeah, just keeping me in here all the time! Only books to occupy me! I feel like I'm going insane!" I shouted slamming my hand on the table. I quickly stood up, clenching my fists.
Loki only stared at me. "Who did you lose?"
"No, don't turn this around! Don't pretend! Stop manipulating me!" I screamed placing my hands to my head. I wanted desperately to talk about what I was suffering from, this feeling of hopelessness, of being forgotten.
"Who did you lose?" he asked me once more.
"Coulson! You murdered him! I saw it! I was too late! You murdered him in cold blood! He was the closest thing I had to a father and you took that away from me! And then you trap me in this place, and I'm reminded every day, every time I see you, that you did this to me. I don't need to be tortured, I'm tortured just by looking at you," I sobbed. Loki only cocked his head at me and watched. I covered my face, sitting on my bed, I was so vulnerable right now.
I felt something take my hand, revealing it was Loki. I pushed his hand away. "Just go away," I mumbled. Did I want to be alone? No. Did I want to be in his company? No.
I watched as he walked away slowly, looking back for only a second.

**Ah, he got her name finally! And 13 reads in one day?! I'm super pumped! Thank you guys so much! Xx**
