Loki's pov

I watched her sleep peacefully, her nightmares had subsided. The nightmares I had caused.
She couldn't see that I watched outside her cell, I used my magic to hide myself. I even visited when she didn't want to see me, I had seen her so broken.
All I wanted to do was make her feel better. I could bring her back to Earth but then I would not only lose what I needed, I would also lose her company.
She was different. She didn't look at me in horror when I told her I was a Frost Giant, or of all the evil I've done. She wasn't even scared of me, she didn't recoil at my touch, she didn't believe my lies. She knew when I was telling the truth, she wanted to be with me.
I was drawn to her, I had yet to even learn almost anything about her, yet I seemed to be attracted to her, possibly in love.

Adeline's  pov

I sat on the couch, moodily, I was bored. Loki had attempted to read but when I kept losing focus, he set it aside.
"Something is bothering you?" he asked, leaning in.
"I'm bored.." I answered bluntly.
"Bored? How? This is a very interesting book, full of mystery!"
I laughed at him being surprised I wasn't as intrigued as he was. "Well, isn't there something else we could do, besides reading – not that I don't enjoy it, I do, but there has to be something else sometimes. Otherwise, this won't be special anymore," I said, realizing what I said a bit too late. I called this special. Not that it wasn't it was just... I didn't want to give him any ideas.
Loki closed the book, looking down at it with a bashful smile. A blush creeping to his cheeks. I felt my own cheeks heat up and I bit my lip.
"What would you like to do then?" he asked, looking up at me.
"I don't know, isn't there any games to play?"
"Games?"
"Yeah, or... oh I miss the club, I miss dancing!" I exclaimed throwing my head back in exasperation.
I usually wasn't much for the drinking at the club, but dancing was amazing. It got my mind off from a long days work.
"You like to dance?"
"Oh yes!" I replied quickly with a smile. I watched as Loki stood up and offered his hand. "What?" I asked.
"Would you like to dance?"
"There's no music," I said, smiling sheepishly. Loki sighed and smiled and suddenly there was music playing a slow, steady song. "I think that's the best trick I've seen so far," I said excepting his hand. "Though, I must admit, I don't know ballroom dancing."
"Well then I'll have to show you," he said, placing a hand on my waist, and other gently taking my hand. "We can't stay to far apart, or to close, there must be a perfect balance," he explained, pulling me closer into him. I felt my heart race for a minute, as he showed me the dance. He was patient with me, even when I stepped on his feet, or tripped over my dress.
Eventually I got the hang of it and we ended up dancing without having to worry about anything.
"So, you've yet to answer my question of how you got to Earth," I said, looking at him.
"You've yet to tell me anything about yourself."
"There's nothing to tell, unlike you."
"It was a portal," he said.
"Yes, but, you fell through the void."
"I don't think you're ready for that story yet."
"How would you know?"
"I know, right now you are dancing, enjoy it."
We ended up dancing the whole night and it wasn't until late in the night Loki escorted me back to my cell. It honestly didn't look like a cell anymore, and more like a room. Loki had given me furniture and a few dresses.
"Now, tomorrow we'll get back to that mystery."
I nodded a smile and he kissed my hand. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight," I said with a smile as he left, leaving me to suddenly feel all alone.
