Flashing fluorescent lights, taxis, buses and cars speeding up and down highly lit roads, people racing down the entire endless length of the New York pathways and buildings that towered high above your heads and seemed to touch the evening sky all became just a blur as the shiny black limousine sped down the road leading to our hotel we'll be spending about five days in.
"Do you think we'll be in the Avengers verses Loki fight that happened here?” Shannon asked randomly, gazing out the window of the limo.
“Oh my God, that would be amazing!” Chloe gasped, high fiving Shannon and the rest of the groups laughed.
“For some reason, I don't think that will happen.” Matt replied, laughing.
“Pfft, how do you know.” Shannon rolled her eyes jokingly.
The limousine pulled up at Gary's house, well hotel as it turned out to be. The four girls and the rest of the groups hopped out of the black shiny limousine as they watched two twenty or even older (and attractive) boys gently empty the boot which was overflowing with our suitcases. Once the boot was emptied the limousine motored away to probably fetch Gary and his guest judge.
In a matter of a few quick passing hours dusk started to settle in once the groups had checked into their hotel suites and unpacked. A gust of the chilly summer wind prickled along Chloe's exposed skin as they waited the arrival of Gary and his guest judge. A single shiver cascaded down the vertebrates of Chloe's spine as her frozen arms wrapped themselves around body, hugging each other in the attempt to warm her up even in the slightest. Maybe she should of worn a jumper or something warmer instead of only just a All Time Low shirt, some denim shorts and blue vans.
“Cold?” Connor questioned in a hushed whisper for no apparent reason. Chloe simply nodded before the warm of Connor's zip up hoodie wrapped around her in unison with his arm sneakily snaking around her waist, pulling her closer into his warm embrace.
Shannon shivered as the weirdly freezing cold summer wind brushed against Shannon's uncovered arms and legs as they were still stood outside waiting for Gary and his guest judge. The hairs on Shannon's skin stood upright in an attempt to conserve her quickly escaping body heat.
"Here, you look like your freezing." Thompson stated, wrapping his warm hoodie around her shoulders before wrapping his muscular arm tightly around her waist, decreasing the space between the two of them.
Under a minute later a yellow taxi came around the corner and stopped in front of the contestants before Gary clambered out and greeted everyone with a wide friendly smile.
"Right, now it's time to meet my guest judge!" And on cue a identical yellow taxi came around the corner and stopped exactly where Gary's did.
The door opened and out stepped... OLLY MURS.
Shannon and Chloe looked at each other and squealed loudly. Olly fucking Murs was standing right in front of them. Olly greeted each contestant with a tight hug (which Shannon and Chloe nearly passed out when it happened.)
After Gary had finished with talking and informing them that they have tomorrow in New York to do whatever then the day after is the performances and the day after is the reveal of the final three.
The girls ended up staying up until an ungodly hour due to jet lag and woke up late the next morning to Kingsland barging in their room, making a racket.
"WAKE UP, OI, WAKE UP!" Jay screamed, jumping on Becky's bed as Connor and Josh jumped on Chloe's and Thompson and Matt jumped on Shannon's, Summer being the lucky one and escaping the rude awakening, kinda.
"Why?" Chloe groaned, covering her face with her duvet.
"Because, we're spending the day together, wooo!" Josh cheered.
"Fine, but get out so we can actually get ready." Shannon sighed as the boys saluted her and ran out of the room after they shouted they'll be back in ten minutes.
In ten minutes each girl was ready, kinda. Shannon was half way done with straightening her hair, Becky was trying to find a pair of shoes, Chloe was not done with putting on her obsessive amount of jewellery and Summer was trying to find her shirt she wanted. Luckily, when Kingsland finally decided to return each girl was ready and they made their way out to the New York city.
The day was spent shopping (which included the Disney store where Chloe brought near enough every Tangled item they stocked and Shannon brought every snow globe they had), messing/joking about and basically being a public nuisance. They even took a boat to Liberty Island and climbed the Statue Of Liberty right to the very top (that was very tiring!) before they then went and had something to eat in a small Italian restaurant they found.
Midnight soon arrived and the two groups arrived back at the hotel to go straight to bed (well for Becky, Summer, Jay, Josh and Matt). Shannon, Chloe, Connor and Thompson lay awake unable to get to sleep due to a horrible mixture of nerves for tomorrow and jet lag. Yay.
Suddenly Shannon got a text of Thompson;
'Meet me and Connor on the roof with Chloe now, heard you couldn't sleep. xxx'
The two girls made their way up to the roof (along with getting lost a few times) to a tennis court set up on the roof and Connor and Thompson were half way in a game.
"Heyyy, fancy a game of tennis by any chance?" Thompson asked, winking at Shannon.
"Oh my God, yes!" Shannon squealed, picking up a red and gold tennis racket as Chloe picked up a green and silver one.
"What are the teams?" Chloe asked.
"You and me and Shann and Thomps?"
"Great! We're are gonna kick yo' asses!" Chloe finger clicked before they began.
In under five minutes of playing Shannon had already fell over multiple times and hit her self in the leg with the racket.
"You are shocking at this." Thompson laughed.
"Excuse me, I'm brilliant mate!" Shannon retorted, spinning her racket in a circle.
However, this didn't go to plan as seconds later Shannon's racket came around and hit her in the face. Connor and Chloe fell to the ground in fits of laughter as Thompson tried to contain his laughter but still went to assist her.
"You okay?" He asked, moving Shannon's hand away from her laughing mouth.
"It hurts but I've done worse."
"Let me kiss it better." Thompson smirked before kissing her quickly yet lovingly on the lips leaving Shannon speechless.
"Okay, love birds, let's finish this game today, yeah?!" Connor called over to them, snapping them out of their daydream on each other.
The game proceeded and the score tallied up to four to Connor and Chloe and two to Shannon and Thompson. It was Chloe's turn to serve but instead of it being a hit to either Thompson or Shannon, it ended up being a strong hit... Over the side of the building.
"Shit, run!" Chloe yelled as the four sprinted as fast as they could to their rooms.
A hand grasped Chloe's wrist and pulled her to the side before she was kissed quickly yet passionately on the lips leaving her confused to say the least.
"What- what was that?" She asked Connor who stood in front of her.
"I dunno, spur of the moment thing. Anyway, goodnight."
And with that he walked away...
