Chapter 8

I woke up the next morning, my nose a little sore but nothing that I couldn’t tolerate. I lazily crawled to my bathroom. I was halfway when suddenly, my door opened. He was standing there trying to find me, his face concerned. I flopped down on the floor and waved my hand.

“Why are you on the floor?” I He asked when he saw me.

“Testing the floor” I murmured with my eyes closed. I heard him chuckle, he actually chuckled I need to see that. Turning, I saw the smile that was on his face, he was really cute.

“And how is it?” He said. Then I noticed that in one hand he still held a spatula.

“Hard, but to tell you the true, I could be sleeping on a bed made of needles and I would not complain.” I said with standing up and yawning.

“Breakfast is ready.” He said and turned to go away. I swear, this is so freaking strange, it like we are actually living together, he kidnapped me and I should be scared out of my mind but this wasn’t the case. I am going insane! He was strange too, he has multiple personalities, he acts like he is easy going but he is mysterious as hell, and I am so sure that I will uncover his façade.

I went to get a shower and changed my clothes. I was dress in a tank top and sweat pants. I went down stairs with my mission clear. My mission was to learn about him and second to that was to find a way out of here.

I sat down on a chair in front of him. He was eating eggs and pancakes. But I noticed that he didn’t touch much his eggs he had a mountain of probably a dozen of enormous pancakes on the plate.

“Aren’t you eating?” He asked with a mouthful of pancakes.

“Yeah…” I said and pick up a fork. I started to eat my own food, eggs and there was a quite large pile of pancakes on my plate too. I ate all the eggs and I couldn’t more. I only managed two to eat two pancakes, while Noah ate all of his in record time. It was funny because he didn’t even swallowed what was in his mouth and he was already shoving another piece inside. He looked like a chipmunk. I laughed at his face and he looked at me with an eyebrow raised, and this made me laugh more because it was damn hilarious.

“What?” He asked after he had swallowed.

“Nothing”

“Clearly it wasn’t nothing.”

“Hey, want my pancakes too?” I asked while passing him my plate.

“Yeah, I could eat a couple more.” And he did, he ate half of my pancakes.

“Do you work?” I asked since I haven’t seen him go out.

“Yes”

“But you are too young; you shouldn’t be in the university?”

“I finished university at the age of 17”

“Wow, so you are a freaking genius too?”

“Yeah…” he says but he doesn’t smile proudly like I though he would, he actually looked sad.

“Why aren’t you happy?”

“Because life is a bitch.” He said with a bitter tone.

“Oh…” That was my lame excuse.

“You know, all of my classmates in college where like twenty something and I was a mere kid, and in high school, I was just twelve or thirteen. They didn’t talk to me and I was fine, but those weren’t my best years.”

“I am sorry…” I said because I really didn’t know what to say. It surprised me and depressed me to imagine a little kid in the hall, where everyone was towering him and he looked fine but in the interior, he was sad and scare. It made my heart constrict.
