I returned to work after having 2 much needed days off and when I went back I wasn't the same person I felt really awkward walking in the bar. "Oh my God Lara! Are you okay?! Sam told us you were ill so you weren't able to come in what happened tell us tell us tell us!" Tara said I was about to make some shit up but Sam stopped me. "Tara I don't think Lara really want to tell the whole bar what happened she was obviously sick nothing more. Lara can I see you in my office please." I looked at Tara then at Sam I nodded. Oh shit he knows Eric told him! Shit I'm big trouble ain't I?! I walked in his office closing the door behind me I sat opposite him. "How are you Lara?" "I'm okay much better now I'm out of the house." I said trying not to bring up the fact Eric healed me. "Eric came to the bar and told me everything. Lara you know you could have asked one of us to go shopping with you." I looked away from him trying to hold back tears remembering the pain. "I could of but everyone said they were busy and I needed to stock up on a few things I didn't know my car was going to break down, and honestly I didn't know I was going to spend all day there." "Well at least we don't have to put up with whatever attacked you now the vampires took care of it." I looked at Sam wanting to get a lot of stuff of my chest. "I know you lot don't like the vampires but Eric saved my life I don't know how he found me but he did I probably wouldn't even be here right now if it weren't for him. I owe him for doing that he didn't have to do it." Sam looked a little shocked by my outburst but I had to say it. "Lara even though he saved you, you can't take anything that they do for granted. Which brings me to my next question why are you wearing a scarf on a hot day?" "It goes with the uniform." I said hoping he'll drop it but doesn't he leans near me I smiled at him but he just grabbed my scarf and pulled it off. "Lara! He bite you!" "Yeah and?" I said not knowing what to say. Sam leaned back in he's chair and ran he's hands down he's face, shaking he's head. "Lara, your new he you know nothing about this town that's probably why he did it." "Did it? Did what?" "Bite you, vampires bite you so they can trek what your doing and where you are it's kind of like starking, they can even control your dreams so don't be surprised if you dream about him often now. Listen Lara I don't know what hrs up to but be careful around vampires I not saying they are all bad but some are Eric seems okay but just don't get mixed up with the others. You should be fine Eric has claimed to every vampire your he's so you should be okay. Alright Lara I think we've talked enough I think it's time that you worked, and just remember what I said here today okay? Please I want you to be safe Lara that's all." I walked to the door and looked at Sam. "Don't worry Sam I'll be fine if I've got my friends around what's to worry about?" I said then smiled at him exiting he's office. Tara looked at me when I walked back to the counter. "Hey Lara you were in there a long time. Everything alright? Sam's not mad at you is he?" "No Tara I'm fine I was just explaining why I weren't in for a couple of days but I'm all good now feeling a lot better." I said smiling I didn't want to give away that I was with Eric I know she hates them but I didn't know why.
The rest of the day went by quick I couldn't wait to go home and relax but knowing that Eric could be watching me put me on edge and anxious I didn't want to be spied on by this guy it's creepy. It was coming up to 12:00am and it was very quite in the bar so we decided to chat while waiting for customers. "So Lara go anything exciting to do on your day off?" Lafayette said. "No, not really probably just redecorate the house a little living it up so it feels more like home." "You know if you need any help all you got to do is ask and we'll help." Terry said smiling sweetly. "Thanks guys but I think I'd manage I'll probably just move some stuff around and put up a few family pictures." I said returning the smile, I looked at my watch it was getting near to closing time and I've got to walk seems so my car is bust. "Lara are you sure you don't want me to drive you home? I mean I don't mind it's only down the road after all." I shook my head. "No Tara it's fine like you said it's 5 minutes down the road I'll be alright." I said walking in the kitchen to help Lafayette put some food away and that's when I felt the cold shiver down my spine I thought it was just because I was in the walk in freezer but hearing Tara's voice confirmed my theory it was Eric. I groaned what's he doing here? The last thing I wanted was to come face to face with him again. I tried to hide myself in the kitchen pretending to do something but it didn't work. "Where is she?" I heard him say. "She? Who she I don't know what your talking about Eric." Tara said acting like she's confused I was kneeling down in the kitchen organizing the cans of food listening to the convention. "So witty tonight aren't we? I just wanted to talked with Lara, I was going to take her home, heard her car was bust so here I am." I slowly rose from the floor to see Eric staring in my direction, he was smiling. "I'm pretty sure she can walk down the street to her house she doesn't need a bodyguard, and plus she said she'll be fine." Tara said gez she really doesn't want me near him but I knew there was no point fighting him. It'd be easier just to go with it, after all it was now closing time. I signed and went round to the counter. "Its fine Tara he's just walking me home I'll be fine I'll text you when I'm home okay?" I said looking at her, she stood there shocked I ignored her expression and started to walk towards the door Eric was next to me putting he's arm round my shoulder we exit the bar.
