Chapter 11

Ellie's POV

Sitting in the car with Owen, he turned on the keys and the engine roared to life. He phoned up Claire and explained the plan to her.

"Okay so we'll meet you at the raptor cage?" Owen confirmed with Claire.

"Yeah, see you there. Bye."

Our car spun as we headed for the raptor cage.

"End the call for me. Press the left button, no the right button, actually the left."

I just pressed all the buttons, not knowing which was actually right, to end the call.

"So you and Zach eh?" Owen nudged, smirking cheekily. I gave a little giggle but I could tell I was blushing hard.

"So you and Claire eh?" I laughed.

"Yeah she's perfect isn't she. And stop changing the subject."

"Aw is little Owen in love?" I teased. "And what do you mean?"

"You know." he said, sending me a wink as I blushed a light pink colour.

"He is pretty cute, and really cheesy but in the sweetest way. He makes me feel like a princess and like he'll never let any harm come to me. I don't know I...I think I really like him Owen." I said blushing. "But I've only known him for less than a day. Like, how am I supposed to know if-"

I heard what sounded like speaking and giggling but when we went silent all that could be heard was the cars engine.

"What was that noise?" I said to Owen, looking side to side to see if I could spot anything.

"Ellie you forgot to end the call." Owen said, hitting the end button.

"What? What?" I repeated.

"He heard every word." he replied, with a smirk on his face.

Zach's POV

"Okay so we'll meet you at the raptor cage?" Owen confirmed with Claire.

"Yeah, see you there. Bye."

"So you and Zach eh?" Owen said, and I could practically hear the smirk on his face.

"So you and Claire eh?"

"Yeah she's perfect isn't she. And stop changing the subject."

"Aw is little Owen in love? And what do you mean?" she said sounding serious.

"You know."

"He is pretty cute, and really cheesy but in the sweetest way. He makes me feel like a princess and like he'll never let any harm come to me. I don't know I...I think I really like him Owen" I heard her say. "But I've only known him for less than a day. Like, how am I supposed to know if-"

I heard Claire giggling and Gray saying "Ewww you guys." so I nudged him.

"What was that noise?" I heard Ellie say.

"Ellie you forgot to end the call." Owen said, then it all went silent.

Soon we arrived at the raptor exhibit and I jumped out like the rest of them did.

Owen and Ellie then turned up, both of them blushing red, knowing that we heard them.

Claire obviously didn't mind what Owen said about her, as she walked up to him and pressed her lips to his, whilst Gray was hissing in disgust.

I saw Ellie looking right at me, and I gave her a smirk right back. I walked up to her and grabbed her waist, kissing her right on the lips, and I could hear Gray's combination of gagging and giggling in the background.

Ellie's POV

I am actually so glad that I said what I did, because now I know that Zach really does like me and I'm not just a phase.

I walked into the raptor cage with Owen and I saw the raptors in silver cages, only their heads sticking out with silver metal encasing their jaws. I walked over and stroked Charlie, leaning my head against her cheek. "You okay babe?" I whispered to her, then I felt Owen's hand on my shoulders, leading me over to the fence where Gray and Zach were.

"What are their names?" Zach asked.

"That's Echo, Delta, Charlie and that's Blue, he's the beta." Owen said, pointing to each of the raptors.

"Then who's the alpha?" Zach asked, looking at Owen.

"You're looking at him." Owen said with a smirk. "And of course my assistant alpha." he looked at me and I punched him on the arm. Then we opened the gate and walked out of the cage. I walked over to the boys and Zach wrapped an arm around my waist and kissed me on the forehead. I wrapped my arm around his and Gray grabbed my hand as we walked over to Claire who was talking to Hoskins.

"Right, so the plan is that we will get the scent of the Indominus Rex into the raptors so that they can find her, chase her and corner her so that we can shoot." Hoskins as we approached.

"Ellie, I need you to stay with Claire and the boys in the car and you can watch on the cameras." Owen said, looking at me.

"Screw that Owen. No way. If you're going I'm going." I replied.

"But El, you could get hurt. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you did."

"I wont. I'll be fine don't worry about me. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you got hurt. Or if the raptors got hurt."

"Fine. But you must stay behind me at all times, and keep out of sight. Promise?"

"Promise." I replied.

"Ellie, wait." I heard Zach say. "What are you doing?" he stared straight into my eyes.

"What needs to be done." I replied.

"But, you can't. It's not safe."

"I'm sorry, I have to. I have to protect my animals, and I have to protect Owen."

"Please. Just stay here with me."

"I'm sorry." I said. I stood on my tip toes and kissed him hard on the lips before running over to Owen and jumping on the motorbike that was next to him.
