Chapter 10

Ellie's POV

As we followed Owen through the crowds of people he explained what had been happening. I nodded carefully as he explained, whilst Claire was fussing way too much over the two boys to listen.

"So there's a guy called Hoskins who wants to take over, take the raptors and use them to fight." he said.

"He what? He is NOT using Charlie to fight. He can shove that plan up his ass." I yelled to Owen, as we reached the staff cars. Owen and I got into one and I was shotgun. The others got into the other car, driving behind us, to get to the main building where the park was controlled. Owen parked up the car and got out, followed by me.

"You guys stay here. El, with me" he said to the rest, but Zach refused and started to walk alongside me towards the building.

"Let's go find this asshole." I said, pretty seriously. I could see Zach in the corner of my eye, biting his lip to try and stop his laughter. I looked up at him to see that they sun was making his brown eyes glimmer, looking beautiful. It was then that I really noticed our height difference, and how short I am compared to him.

Entering the building we saw Hoskins ordering people about. As we approached him, his greedy grin grew wider, only increasing how pissed I felt. Owen started off the rant, pointing out the weaknesses of his plan but he was taking to long. I pushed him out of the way and got in Hoskins face.

"You are not using my raptors to fight that beast. They won't attack. They WONT!" I almost screamed.

"One, they are not YOUR raptors. Two, who are you?"

"Ellie, and you're wrong. They're not going to fight."

"I don't care what you say little girl. I am doing this whether you like it or not." he pat my head before wondering off, followed by an angry Owen.

Anger was building up inside me and now I was ready to pounce. But as I was about to jump on Hoskins and give him a punch in the face, I felt some arms wrapping around me, holding me back. I knew immediately that it was Zach.

"Let go!" I said angrily, struggling to get out of his grip.

Unluckily in this process, Zach's arms caught the bandage that was covering my side, protecting it. Soreness took over me and the pain was unbearable, cringing and leaning over I cried out in pain.

"I'm so sorry. Ellie I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" Zach asked worriedly, wrapping an arm around my waist in support.

"I'm fine, honestly, I'm good."

At that point, Owen walked back over, and seeing my face his expression turned from angry to worried.

"El, you okay? You look a bit worried." he asked, concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine." I said with a smile.

"No, she cut her h-" Zach tried to explain, but I cut him off.

"So what did you say to Hoskins?"

"Well we've come to an agreement, but sorry Els we have to go through with the plan. It's the only way."

"Whatever but if Charlie is hurt...you'll be sorry." I said, staring angrily into his eyes.

"She'll be fine kiddo." he said, kissing me on the top of the head before walking back over to Hoskins.

"Why didn't you tell him?" Zach asked, sounding a bit moody and angry with me.

"Cause he has bigger problems."

"So?"


"Please don't tell him. I promise that I'll tell you if it hurts. And you can kiss it better." I said with a smirk, teasing him.

"Promise me?" he said, wrapping his arms around my small waist.

"I promise." I giggled, looking up at him.

"Good." he said, leaning down and drawing me into a hug. Since he's taller I had to stand on my tip toes a little whilst my arms snaked around his neck and my head pressing against his chest. Before pulling out of the hug he placed a kiss on my forehead making shivers go down my spine and my heart flutter

"Come on guys enough of the PDA and let's go kick some dino ass." Owen called out before running out to the cars and we followed behind him.

"I guess it's time to try and tame this thing." I said, cracking a smile at Zach before we went to our separate cars, me with Owen and him with Claire and Gray.
